Hello together, I bought a SL 500 R129 on the first day when I wanted to register it, I did not get the car with the infrared remote controls any more. It didn’t want to flash green or open and if you unlock the door with the key is the immobilizer inside and the alarm goes off at the start. I thought it was due to the batteries but these were exchanged and after 2-3 hours it worked again. It happens every 1-2 weeks that it nic ht works and after that you can open or close normally again. Both keys don’t work – so it can’t be because of it. Did someone have this problem before or knows what it might be? Thanks Pat

Direct comparison SL 350 and SL 400
Hello, does someone have concrete experience in the direct comparison of the 350 and 400, especially in terms of pull-through capacity, switching down during acceleration etc? Theoretically, the 400 should allow a noticeably superior driving. Unfortunately, I was not able to drive a 400 and must speculate. Farewell from the Forum
Dear friends of the SL-Forum, after a long time of thinking and considering, I have now separated myself from my SL. However, due to chronic back problems, I could not really enjoy it any more. He will still remain my dream car and I will keep it in good memory. I gladly read it here in the forum and also wrote the one or other post. Unfortunately, I was not able to keep up with many contributions due to lack of technical competence. h about the mostly fair way of dealing with each other and the prompt answers to all possible questions. I think I will miss you a little bit, but I can still read along. Because I have been doing my business trips with Europcar vehicles for many years and it is usually an Audi A6, I have discovered my love for Audi over time. That was also one reason that I decided to replace my SL for an Audi Q5. Please jetz t don’t stump the nose, I know, but it’s just comfortable. R129 sucks battery empty
Hello together, I have the problem with the SL that the battery is constantly unloading itself in the stand. The problem has occurred for about 5 months so that after 1-2 weeks of service life the (charged) battery is so unloaded that the car can no longer be started. Probably the alarm system sucks the battery empty, because the discharge time is extended in the case of an unfinished car. Bosch service has measured and found nothing. Battery is apparently also ok, Lichmaschine also. n instead a 12V can connected to the battery. So I can have the car connected to the maintenance charger in the garage. Their comment was that the problem with the SL is completely normal and that happens to many. Therefore my question to you, whether you have this problem in principle? I don’t think it is normal that you can no longer start the car after 1 week of service life. It is a 95 R129 SL 320. Nice greeting to all SL friends

SLS – residual value ?
Hello together, I’m just planning on the next car purchase. Actually, I had categorically excluded to look at an SLS for price reasons, but now the “dream” is bothering me and I’m going to figure it out. Since I’m going to finance via the house bank anyway, I’m actually only interested in the loss of value of an SLS over the financing period. I want to find something about the 125t € with about 10000 – 30000 km on the clock. BJ seems possible max. 2010. We would, for example, be the residual value in 4 or 5 years, starting from a purchase today with the mentioned parameters ? What about the performance of the SLS in general ? Thank you

My SL55 in Mopf2 optics
Sooo… it’s done. After long and elaborate considerations I had decided to miss the Mopf2 look of my 55s. Since my car only has 60TKM on the hump and the engine even only 28TKM (engine change by AMG at 32TKM due to material errors) … and I am eigtl. all around happy with the car, I did not want to accept the loss of value by a sale. Besides, every MT’ler knows that I am a big fan of the 55 compressor engine… Just because of the r optics take a darker engine and the loss of value. Nope… And this is what the result looks like now. It was important to me that everything (really ALL) is 100% true to the original: parts, gaping material, underbody cladding, functionality (mirror and LWR), cross trainer, inner wheelhouse cladding etc. … all original AMG! By the way: MopfAMG (Dirk) helped me with the technology great. My recommendation! But what am I talking about for a long time… pictures say more than words.

Hello, it didn’t work with the search: Can I upgrade a ’02 R230 “simple” to the DVD-Comand? Are ports & Navi antenna compatible? btw: the online operating instructions are really nice, are they actually also available for older vehicles?

SL R 230, 350 or 500?
On the other hand, I am considering replacing our R107 and the C209 with an R230. Does anyone have any experience regarding the running costs / differences between 350 and 500s? From which year of construction is the car recommended? Are special problems known? Of course, a 500 in silver with panoramic roof, Keyless go, little km… Best regards Johannes
