Hello together, I have a problem with my Mercedes and hope that someone can help me here. The vehicle was originally delivered to the Russian market, but has been properly registered in Germany since 2011. I am the third owner, German citizen, and have legally acquired the car through a dealership. Recently I wanted to have the regular service at Mercedes-Benz carried out, but was informed that my vehicle (probably) due to the current According to Mercedes-Benz, this is because it is a Russian first-time delivery, and therefore the manufacturer does not allow access to the necessary software systems. I have already submitted an application to have the lock lifted for my vehicle. However, don’t get an answer from Maastricht… Has any of you had similar experiences? What are my chances that Mercedes-Benz will be able to stop the arrest? I would be very grateful if someone could report from their own experience or give helpful tips. Thank you in advance for your support!

Eisenmann at the SL 500 R230 Experiences?
Hello! Since July of this year I am proud owner of an SL500 R230 year 2002 and so far I am very happy and happy to have decided for the SL and not for a 996. The only thing that clouds me and my mood is that he always gives me a little bit of a naja while driving, but sorry for the expression “opamäßg”. That means with a closed cover you hardly hear anything from the engine and in general it is in comparison to other sports cars n just kind of shamless. Well, I’ve made myself smart now on Google and came across Eisenmann exhaust systems. How does it look, is there here in the forum possibly SL500 colleagues who have the combination end and middle silencer of the company Eisenmann installed? How does the noise backdrop present itself? Is this pleasant, i.e. already deep and sporty (one should definitely have the power to my SL, at least a little notice ) but not too intrusive? Is the Eisenmann system a good compromise between my two requirements? I don’t think I need to worry about the quality of the system, do I? Looking forward to your answers and wish you a pleasant Sunday evening. Greetings to all Mercedes fans Thomas

Cabrio disc broken on the R129
Hello! Does anyone have any experience with their insurance because of disc breakage at the soft roof? Would be grateful for some advice. At the beginning of March had sent the hardtop into the summer and the soft roof extended. Suddenly a cracking and the rear left disk was broken. Why are you actually insured and reported the damage to my insurance. Reason of breakage, which is too cold weather. Insurance refuses to take over the damage. No glass break, but wear. also an expert report was used for the material Wopavin(Flexglas) against break resistance and elongation of breakage, according to which the material for the discs can have absolutely nothing to do with wear. The vehicle, but I don’t know whether it is the first roof or if something has happened in this direction. My insurance, the Concordia. Did anyone have their experience with his insurance as well? Greetings from Kassel, MICHAEL

SL 350 with 55AMG end pots too quiet
Hello Community, I have a 350 and last year I converted it to Optic 55 AMG. I thought that it gets louder by the 55th end pots but it remained discreet I bought the stainless steel medium pots from Eisenmann (500SL) but they are a lot bigger than what I have inside from home and my mechanic thinks that it may become quieter by the larger volume. What can I do to make it sound better, I have a bunch of medium pots inside, What if I remove one? And if so, which one. Thank you

The work is done!!!
So friends, the long nights, numerous hours on the PC and in magazines and the meticulous research paid off in the end. For my SL500 (R230) color obsidian black with complete AMG aerodynamics package I will mount the following rim combination: The rims have the following sizes: VA: 11x 20 ET 45 with 285/25/20 eifen HA: 12.5x 20 ET 45 with 305 and 325/25/20 The vehicle is accident-free, so that a conversion in this dimension without repainting the faeces As a result, the height of the vehicle has to be adjusted accordingly. Finally, an Eisenmann sports exhaust is ordered and assembled. Small beauty corrections, such as painting of the wood cladding in piano black, are made at the very end. Then I hope that the effort of the last three months has paid off. As soon as the vehicle is finished, meaningful pictures will of course be stopped. , I hope to be all done. Does anyone have any useful information about fendering and pulling? dear greeting rocco

SL 55 AMGCompleted
Hello, I am interested in an R230. First I preferred the SL 500 with 387 hp (BJ 2006), but I noticed that an older SL 55 (BJ 2004) no longer costs in the purchase. Well, I wanted to get an offer from two insurance companies and both rejected the SL 55 AMG and the SL 500 for a comprehensive insurance! They meant that the vehicle caused too many accidents, which are of course also expensive. r risk group and have been driving for 20 years without a self-inflicted accident. I am currently even fully insured with one of these insurance companies. Is this normal that I don’t get full coverage? Do I ask the wrong insurance or is there something wrong with my details (e.g. that I don’t have self-used residential property)?

SL conversion to Facelift Mopf2, price calculation
Hello friends, after I had not been able to make friends with the optics of the Faclift model, the exact opposite has occurred at the moment. I have purchased several parts for an acquaintance who wants to do the conversion abroad, because he is resident there. It is certainly, as discussed in the forum already, a cost and benefit question, which decides whether to opt for or against the conversion. I wanted to come to know some opinions here, for which final sum the forum members would consider a conversion to be acceptable and also have themselves carried out. Of course nobody can predict the price development of the Sl, but you can still do your opinion customer. I wish everyone a contemplative Christmas time.

I’ll do it: R230 Mopf2 conversion
The decision was made: After I had already upgraded the rear of my SL55, I decided now to also convert the front to Mopf2. After I found the optics simply impossible at the beginning, I fell in love with the new, aggressive form language of the R230 Mopf2. So I can do it. But I don’t want to take it up to SL63/65, but I will leave the SL55 lettering at the rear. I also leave the spoiler lip away. As “side fins” in the front feces. I’m not going to use AMG’s (I still find it ugly), but the ones from the non-AMG models and the 55’s lettering “V8 compressor”. So I’m free from the suspicion of making my car a fake. And since the 55’s is anyway faster (according to the factory specification) than the 63’s, I wouldn’t know why I should be there. I’m looking for a good (but reliable) part supplier now. n. The following is required: AMG hood AMG xenon headlights AMG front thruster Excavator control unit for the xenons A distronic does not have my 55s and I do not need the rear parts either, since I have already carried out the conversion, as I said. If someone knows a reliable source, which can possibly also assess with the technical finesse of the conversion (telephone), please PN to me. If someone is interested in the AMG Mopf1 parts (completely including rear and AMG endtoepfen) Sssiert is, so please also PN to me (the parts remain after the conversion yes “other”.

Questions about the R107 – Evtl purchase planned
First of all I would like to call a friendly “hello together” in the round. This is my first post here in the SL forum. As described in the headline, I think about possibly getting an R 107. About 10 years ago I had already looked around and then did not strike. Now to my questions: *Is my guess that the prices have attracted a lot since then right? *Absolutely flawless condition would be most important to me. through stamped maintenance booklet and comprehensible history. Then it should be a 500s, best from the last series from ’85. Is that too much expected? Do you still find one of these or are (almost) only blenders on the way? Where do I look best? For meaningful answers (also like tips, comments etc) already thank you in advance.
