Hello guys, would like to buy me a new car next year. It should actually be a SL W230 or a CL C215. Bin Mercedes Fan has always been driving MB and at the moment a SL500 R129 for me with one of the most beautiful shapes. The CL likes with actually better is not a convertible. Why the switch from R129 to W230 because of the roof, no softtop and the actual technology Keyless Go etc. Read for a long time about these two vehicles but what you can read about ABC or Airmatic (know nic nic I would like to know if there are also people who had no problems with the ABC and could give you a little bit of courage. Otherwise I’ll probably stay with the 129 SL or have to change the brand. Thanks for a few good answers.

Roof manuel open temple does not work ZV spider
Hello dear SLer to everything I have to open my roof otherwise the disk can not be changed, and with a crack in the disk no tuv yes that’s so. In my manual nothing is described as I can open it manually please ask for instructions if someone has it. last days I wanted to run again after the whole snow and ice cream, start aboard running, only the lamp for the rollbar and the roof lamp light permanently nothing does itself, 2 days later exactly the same nu r this time I can move everything. so 2 days later the same thing happens again and nothing happens, everything I found in the forum was wrong. What I found is that it was buzzing in the passenger door, and that my locking system goes and then again does not press after 6 times and it often flashed in the mirror. LG Mario

Once the highway is fogged
Hello together, today my R230 on the highway has scared me a lot, which I (so far) can not explain – maybe someone here from the forum has a tip for me. Today I used the nice weather and the free highways in Germany on my way back from the holiday back to Switzerland to get rid of a bit of the melancholy thoughts about the current speed limit (Yes, we were at the “right” corners in the big canton). hem Cruisen with speed 180 I then had a visitor behind me, who did not make any stress, but the Schalk in my neck then made me try out how long he probably stays behind me. Not only that the Mercedes has remained on it, at about 240 km/h my car suddenly fabricated a strong smoke flag, a bluish and quite neat cloud. There were neither inappropriate noises from the engine nor any warning message in the cockpit. I immediately got the Speed reduced (which turned off the smoke flag), I got out at the next resting place and looked at my car very suspiciously and very much for the amusement of some people. Neither oil dripped out anywhere, nor could you smell anything, also there was still no error message in the display. Everything seemed quite normal and after we continued the ride, even despite slowly rising speed, there was not another cloud or problem again. The puzzle is now… wa s was that, does that hurt, what needs to be repaired? Thanks to the Swiss guarantee, I’m not worried about a repair, but I would really like to know what happened first? Can any of you help me? Many greetings, Frank

Entry rails SL 500 lt MB no longer available
Hello, the entrance strips of my SL 500 R230 Mopf 1 BJ. 2006 were scratched and therefore I had them exchanged in the contract workshop. Now the entrance strips look very different inside than before and no longer fit to the outer entrance strips. The new ones are no longer with the two riffles, but completely smooth and shiny stronger. I have looked in the EPC and these are actually the ones of the SL 600. As external footboards were installed to me from BJ 2007 – wob The reason for Mercedes was that the original strips are no longer available and were officially replaced for the now built-in ones. Part numbers are: External right A2306801835 correct A2306805035 replacement External left A2306801735 correct A2306804935 replacement Internal right A2306802035 correct A2306804035 installed Internal left A2306801935 correct A2306803935 installed Can’t be that Mercedes for 5 years old vehicles has no Spare parts have more? I mean, it looks pretty stupid with me, because the inner ones don’t fit the outer bars anymore. Of course, it will look even less consistent with drivers who only change an inner footbar. Then the symmetry in the interior is completely lost. Isn’t there even a rule that spare parts must be available for 15 years? Or did the dealer give me wrong information?

Operating instructions
Dear R129ler I have a problem with the operation of the air conditioning – my car is a 320er Mopf1, year 1996. At first the system was empty – plant was pressed with nitrogen and then filled. Now I have problems to turn on the air conditioning, to operate. Thanks for every tip. Another observation – there is no air from the middle nozzles. And the middle nozzles can not be switched on separately (with the switching) The display only works if one of the two switches at d It’s very strange everything – somehow adjusted or defective. And still something ……must the air conditioning be kept in place with it also the Yviscolfans run? Or does it just have to be “functional”? I think if you drive openly your climate also shuts down, right?!? Is there advice, can anyone give me tips?

Raise R230 ash cover
Hello together I bought my SL unfortunately with defective ash cover. Now I want to finally expand the ash cover and send it to a company for repair or reprocessing. My question, does the whole ash cover have to be removed or can the carbon cover be easily separated from the lid in the built-in condition of the ash cover? I have found photos of covers and ash covers which have so artificial open noses, but will not keep them together quite cleverly. because also do not break anymore since the cover is also installed again. Thank you in advance:-)

SL55 switches in the basement… for what?
I just bought a used optically very well-kept SL55. Now the one day after yesterday’s pick-up at my garage and this morning shows in the display: ABC : car too low : on … went then but quickly away… hmm is that normal..? But now to my question: There is a switch in the footroom (something right behind the parking brake pedal) … a crunchy switch made of metal with two wires going away from it… what’s that for? what was it for? no difference… at least if the engine is running in the stand. I will make a photo here in this post later. Best regards Matthias

Interior change … R230
Hello fan community, also I would like to change my R230 (SL500, white and light grey inside, with wood decoration – dark), a little bit and a little optically upgrade (peep up)…, including a matching wooden leather steering wheel, which I do not have and my search for it has remained quite unsuccessful (in matching wood color – in combination light grey), so I almost tend to look for a complete set (suitable)!? My SL is from 2003 – in the original – not plucked up, or something like that, so should I look for a complete set (suitable)! he also stay …, so no carbon, or designer finishing …! Does anyone have tips – advice … where I’m looking, or could ask if you can get something like that in exchange (in manageable financial framework) ??! Best regards – in the round … Terri

Rear apron replacement on Sl500 2. mopf because of new AGA
Hello together, I would like to hear soon from my 2011 SL500 that there is an engine installed. After extensive research I decided for a 4-flute flap-nauspuff from vehicle technology Rudi. Now my “problem”: The first idea was to cut out the original apron accordingly so that the overall impression remains largely original. Rudi says: We can cut the existing bumper on 4 pipe but then the flap-controlled ESD will no longer be past I’ve seen a video with “my” exhaust. There’s the apron from the 55’s installed. I like it very much. But if that looks like the front of the 500’s 2nd mopf? Does it fit at all? The apron from the 2011’s 63amg would probably be correct. Only I don’t like it very much. And then I would have to remodel the front apron in a consistent way, too, wouldn’t I? Then there were AMG packages with another rear sh I don’t know what that looked like. Mine actually already has an AMG package with the dark rear lights, the 19″AMG wheels and a few more gimmicks, but no other apron. In short: Does anyone have the overview of what the rear (and possibly the front) looked like with the respective model? How did you solve the rear apron problem when converting to 4-tube? Pictures? Opinions about the optics? Thank you for your input!

SL Devil’s “bad illiteracy”
Jo… here are some pictures of the 350s I found. It’s a 2004er, second hand with 95TKM, accident-free and stapled at MB. The last three years deregistered. As illiterate (= no ABC) he was part of a collection. I have now lovingly dragged the good piece back to the road. Careful optical modifications: grill in car color (040 black uni) and MoPf-AMG backlights as well as 3rd brake light in clear glass. More should not be done outside. The original Ruec You never know how long you have it then… At the end it comes to the end. at some point it comes to “Originalitaet”. Ah yes… Set of fresh 19 rims he still gets. I somehow fell in love with the look of this wheel set. Even if it comes from another generation, he fits well with his straightness (and yet also soft lines) to the R230 IMO. I will also experiment with discreet distance discs, because the Ori In the interior he gets an Android head unit and the “wood ash black” has to give way to real carbon. This makes him very contemporary enough for me to drive him as a “main car” this summer. Will update the thread when I get ahead with the mods.
