Hi everybody, you don’t believe what happened to me. Yesterday on the highway while driving I wanted to clean the windows for a short time. I press the button for the window cleaning and suddenly the plastic cover flies away which covers the middle part of the wiper mechanism and it moves only a windscreen wiper. At the control at home I didn’t trust my eyes: the whole arm is broken! How about everything in the world can this happen? I’m curious what my NL says and whether MB acknowledges it as a guarantee case. Things exist … Gruss Uwe

This should NOT be a provocative question or something like this, just an opinion whether such necessary repairs are “normal” with a >10 year old car or if I made a bad purchase about 3 years ago (the latter I don’t actually believe, since they are “little things” – BUT I’m not a professional)? The following must be done with my SL: Heating (does not work since September 2013) Window lifter broken left (before the “wining sleep” radio knistern (se It purchase date crackles when gas is given) blower controller no longer works (either FULL or OFF) cover leaks braking (ok NORMAL wear, this also knows a lay) tank indicator hangs (needle likes to put on “Empty” although tank is full-since summer 2013) case tamper lidbHydraulik (cover “falls down” or has to be held-since summer 2013) windscreen wiper automatic…Intervall defective seat adjustment lighting defective tank lighting defective (since 2013) car phone defe kt (i.e. since when, is never used). Hmm…if I read this like this, do I already have a lot to do with it…WOBEI motors, gears and ABC etc. have never made mistakes before… So maybe again luck with the above “little things”? Thank you.

Hi guys, I need your help, unfortunately I can’t go any further… I’m in the USA at the moment and have bought me an SL500 Bj2001. However, it hasn’t started for a few days. More precisely, it turns the starter, but no cylinder fires. You can hear the petrol pump, all the lights go on “check”, but do not stay on permanently. So no obvious error message. First looking here in the forum did not help. I already have the 2nd key (a rodent) Newer tested by a MB dealer in D), no success at the start, however, the learning of the key worked. Tap the battery and wait an hour: No success. A short check of all fuses, which had something to do with petrol pump, injection or ignition, unfortunately also showed no error. Then brought here to a local screwdriver, which specialized in BMW and Benz. Error memory read out: Empty. Had already some about crankshaft or OT-Sens or read, but thought that such a mistake would be stored in the memory?! As you can see, I am a little perplexed about the further troubleshooting and unfortunately the know-how of the MB dealers here in the states is not comparable with those in D… Please for help, thank you.

Hello together, my name is Harry and I have been reading with you a little longer… I come from the W208 forum and want to change from my CLK convertible to the SL350/R230 in the near future. I have read a lot here in the forum but did not find a satisfactory answer to my basic question : How are your opinions on the subject of Mopf ? – -speak: I ask myself, it must be a 2007er with 272hp and 7G-Tronic, or does the pre-mopf with 245hp and 5-speed Automa Is the difference so serious, or are there other criteria that speak for the mopf, or against it? Most people here know that the Keyless-Go is far from safe, e.g.http://www.focus.de/…/…-the-auto-mafia-their-wagen_id_4239778.html If the car is faked (with equivalent equipment) the key is in the immediate vicinity the thief has easy play… and he is gone with the car. I imported a USA SL, as far as it’s OK. However, the speedometer is a problem for me. I bought a German speedometer, but it can’t be registered with the car, or whatever that means. The friendly guy said that although all functions are there, also the day-kilometre counter, but the normal meter will never show for manipulation reasons. does anyone have experiences?

With my now well 1 year old R231 I notice that after relatively short pauses of 3 weeks the battery voltage drops. Leg switched on ignition the COmmand system says goodbye already after a short time. Question: Who has experience with a charger that is connected during operating breaks? MB meanwhile offers which as accessories. What makes sense here?

Hello to the community. I notice the following phenomenon with my R 231. If I untie the trunk, whether with a key or from the inside by a button, then I still can’t open the trunk. I hear the lock unlocks (with one click ) but can I open the trunk only the second time either with a key or with the inner button. Can it be that I do something wrong? Moin, very short question. What did you have on the front axle for wide rims? And which tire sizes ? Please no answers with 8,5J. Please only those that go beyond standard.
