  • SL500 (R129) Idle-off

    Hello to all, I’ve had a problem with my SL500 (WDB1290671F1, 1994, 146,000km, engine M119, LH-Jetronic, 2 distributors) and hope that among you is a specialist who may have experience with such a problem. The Fzg. has been idle for 2 years (650 !/min) and in increased idleness up to 2000 revolutions light dropouts, i.e. the engine shakes slightly. In cold condition a little more than warm. Under load the engine runs perfectly and has power. It starts cold as well as warm. A MB-Hdl. recommended me to visit a BOSCH service. But he probably had even less idea of the SL than me. He also noticed the shaking, but did not know any remedy and has given me 2 cans system cleaners into the tank. Now I have not renewed the resistor cable – I have already renewed the resistance filter again.

  • ICARSOFT MB V3 or CR max ? Diagnosis

    Hello I think about getting one of the two diagnostic devices listed. Does anyone have experience ? I just want to work with the SL. Can the CR max do everything the MB3 can….or more? Does the MB3 go deeper and better into the diagnosis only for Mercedes? The CR Max can probably be a complete diagnosis and then displays all the ECUs. The errors are then marked red. With the MB3 you must probably look into every ECU whether there are errors, or? Please for experiences and advice. Thank you

  • To all SL fans, battery in two days lerr 🙁

    Hello together, I recently added an SL500 from 2002, the vehicle has almost full equipment (Keyless-Go etc.) The problem: If the vehicle is 2 – 3 days without starting in the garage the battery is empty. I bought the car the other day, already with the previous owner it showed the battery indicator in the display. Then a good used battery 74 Ah bought the same, fully charged and mounted in the back of the trunk. Thought everything would be okay, now I noticed that the problem still exists. Have a Bosch ESI tester, which shows me only a fault memory currently: Air conditioning multifunction sensor error in the data bus Another deficiency is: that the seats (massage function etc.) driver and passenger do not work. Should be over the air line under the passenger seat, I also hear an air noise or hisshy. What do you mean? Why does the battery go so quickly empty? Where do I have to start looking for the error? Is that the main reason with the sitting? I can still start the vehicle when I take out the key and then do not start a problem again for the battery.

    Hello guys, wanted to ask you about it, unfortunately I didn’t have a board folder at my new (used) purchased SL, because the checkbook is missing, it had to simply reorder. I received quite a few invoices from the previous owner, but I would have entered it into the checkbook. Had been several times at MB branch office, which could see in the system even much more what was done since 2002 after delivery. Unfortunately it has landed in the archive and they can not see it immediately in the PC clearly what everything was done so. Last I was informed that I should report to the Debitors Accounting Mainz by mail. Also from which I have not received any feedback so far. What could I do? The checkbook must be kept (very important for me), of course also for the future very important if I want to sell the vehicle again, understandable or ? Where can I still report? Mercedes must be able to deliver the history, no matter how, the vehicle is registered on me and I think I have right to it.

    Hello, I have found that the Wechlser CD no longer works with my 2006 pre-mopf and therefore I am looking for a replacement device. On the changer is “Model No. MC3330”. I’m not sure if I need one with exactly this model name or if I can also use another model?!?!? (Difference d2b>

  • R129 SL 500 Built.91 KE did not jump with starting aid anymore???

    Hello! Why doesn’t the car start? What’s going on now? The car jumped in with the start-up cable and ran for a couple of minutes. I assumed that it only ran over 1 igniting chair. I then pulled off the cable from 1 and ran again and then ran exactly the same again. I then tried to start only with the other igniting chair, over which he did not run. Car did not run only turns something and red lamp from the radio then no longer burns. Ignition chair changed. Again start-up cable ran, lights from the radio goes again. Then again tried to start again with both connected igniting bowls it does not get turned. What’s going on now????? Can it run on the still old battery and completely empty battery that is in the car? But this has run a little load before when the car has run. Checker shows at 15 and 1 of the igniting chair each 12.5 ca, if the bridge cable is connected.

  • Vibrating, rising temperature, stinking burning, gear problem?

    Hello, can someone please tell me what the problem of my car is or if the following event indicates a transmission problem (possibly what broken?)? R129 SL500 bj94. Car ran impeccable. On the engine are made candles, ignition cable, ignition bubbles, cans, finger, wire harness new, throttle flap overhauled, motor bearing i.o. car switched off briefly for a few seconds. Engine restarted, backdahren, forward D, puts a little hard on the mountain, I start driving and notice how the car somehow harder running T, vibrates but drives. Drive so 50 70kmh, walk to N, vibrates likewise area center (So a heavy swing, no clapping.) Return to D, drives, switches, heavy vibrating vibrating, after approx. 5km temperature increased at approx. 100 to 110 degrees, it stinks burned, due to increased temp oil pressure at almost 0 in idle. Stopped car parked. Waited. 10 min later car starts normal, vibrating vibrating is gone, drives again light, oil pressure 1 bar in idle. Engine oil, water control i.o. What’s that? I have the feeling that the gearbox is slipping a little while speeding up. But why did the temperature rise? And how can it be that something like this vibrating is gone again? How much km does the automatic transmission hold? How does the breakdown of the automatic transmission announce itself? Please tell me your opinion Thank you in advance!!!

  • Sell, but then what?

    Good evening, a good acquaintance has let us see;…… should I remember to sell my car ( R231 ) sl 350, Kavansitblau as new with 50,000 km; should I tell him this. The previous SL 230 ( 350 ) went away in this way. So far, so good, but what then? I don’t think about changing my car yet, so I won’t make a deal. Well, my question,… which other car in the price range 100 to 120,000.- Euro would you like. We want to consider… the SL is driven all year round, is relatively inexpensive in maintenance, never makes a theater, and is still an eye-catcher. So what could be in question for all of you? It is not to be denied that I always look at other cars as well. So then… Best greetings.

  • Help! Door u trunk also mechanically no longer open

    Hi, I drive a R230 with Keyless Go. So far I have been blindly relying on the ZV. Since the rear battery has always struggled I have pulled both cables from the poles. Purchaser compartment lids too. Problem: the ZV has no juice, the mechanical key turns the lock however the handle to open no longer has any function. Now the Supergau! ZV has no juice so still take the key and open the driver door with it. Key goes by 2mm not so deep in d The lock locks. With greater effort (tongs) it doesn’t turn, but it doesn’t happen. MB has no idea again. They don’t understand even that with the trunk. The ADAC said breaking up with damage is the only way. Really??? Thanks in advance for the help
