  • After booster connection the SL is dead

    Hello,maybe you can help me,wanted to start my SL Mopf 2 but nothing went on, battery was empty.I then attached a booster to the battery in the engine compartment, I could only turn on when I wanted to start everything went off, now nothing goes on with charged battery!Control unit or is there a main fuse somewhere?

  • New tandem pump fails

    At the end of an exit, an atypical noise from the AMG-SL engine compartment was noticed. The preliminary investigation, even under decrease of the rib belt, revealed the strong suspicion of the failure of a “New Tandem Pump” recently changed by “Exclusive Automobile”. The external appearance of the pump caused doubts as to whether it was an original pump. As to the repaired tandem pumps, it should be noted that the pump manufacturers do not supply spare parts. .A repair without original-ET raises at least questions. Exclusiv Automobile does not answer multiple requests about the scope of the repairs and exchanged parts. This is surprising, because usually the type and scope of the repairs as well as the indication of the used new parts are advertising effective. It cannot be excluded that this is an individual case, however, should warn for caution.

  • SL350 R230 BJ 08.08 Noise(brumming) when giving/braking

    Hello dear MotorTalk community, would need your advice Have been having problems with my SL350 R230 BJ 08.08 62tkm, MOPF 2 For about a week now, when I’m giving up I’m getting a “bumping/summing sound” like a compressor running high. In the lower speed range 1,000 to 2,000 rpm until the automatic is switched up. For example, if I drive on the highway at 100, the noise is as good as gone. When braking, the whole thing is more likely to be in some kind of trouble when switching down As if the speed would go down at each turn off short too strong. Now I was at the friendly and I was told appointment would only be in 2 weeks. In the stand to give nothing to hear about the gas, for short ride no time… Sad though the only 3 months ago made large service for just 2k…. If among other things automatic oil was probably changed, probably at 60tkm should stand uniquely. spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter etc. I am now not so knowledgeable what autotechn I hope you can help me, or give me a tip on what it might be.   • SL600 only defects.. Wall lid and trunk closure

    Hello SL municipality, during this holiday we suddenly heard a very funny noise in the “Heck”. It sounded as if an aluminium drink bottle rolls back and forth in the trunk. After intensive search I could only find out that it does not come from the trunk or in the rear interior. So exactly in between. And there is probably the tank. A search in the net revealed that it is probably a well-known problem with the R230 that a swarm plate dissolves in the tank. (A Benz for almost 100T€ and it resolves itself a sheet metal in the tank. I can’t believe it.) OK. There’s probably only a tank to be renewed or a company like that in Stuttgart (I think). OK. Then there’s clackers. I don’t think there’s any other DIY solution at the moment. Then today the next one. The trunk doesn’t seem to close properly anymore. Otherwise it sucks in autom. It doesn’t do that anymore. Apey to be a pneumatic lock. Here’s my question, which DIY error analysis can you do? a) will be there Schl If so, where is this? b) I have pressed in the hook of the lock with an open lid once a position by hand. It does not happen. So you don’t hear anything. When I press the opening lever, the hook goes back and you hear a pneumatic hissing. But just when opening. Is this correct? Thanks for the first DIY tips.

    Hello dear SL fans, I am again looking for a white SL 55 AMG and am in Autoscout24 about a dealer in Niederwern, who offers several SL:http://ww3.autoscout24.de/classified/272839312?asrc=st%7Cas It seems to be import vehicles and the goods have to be paid and after about 4-6 weeks you get “his” vehicle. Has someone already had experience with this dealer or knows this dealer? Thank you for your input in advance.

  • Does anyone have to convert their r230 to mopf 2?

    Hello, I’m going to ask if someone has planned something like this in the next time… I completed the conversion a few months ago and plan to sell my vehicle now. But since I believe that I will not see any money for the vehicle without it, maybe a sale of the parts would be possible. Built are: Sl63 heck with diffuser Sl63 front complete with really all parts Sl63 sweller Sl mopf 2 mirror Sl Mopf 2 bonnet SL 63 kotflügel the inlays at the side sin d WITHOUT lettering ! SL Mopf 2 AMG headlights in original black inside SL Mopf 2 shock absorber SL Mopf 2 rear lights The parts are all original. Most of them I bought with invoice at mercedes. None of them is comparable to the parts in the net. I ordered everything according to specification EPC. There is not a single bracket or even a screw missing. I believe that was it. I would possibly exchange these parts with someone who drives an obsidian black vehicle, with desprec or is someone interested in buying?

  • Auxiliaries for opening the fabric roof on the W107

    Moin! If you want to open the convertible roof of your Mercedes SL type w107 alone, this is usually stuck at the lower corner when the fabric roof is sunk. Spicy oldtimer restorers have developed a sheet metal which can easily be clamped in the body and thus the roof is very easy to open. Because this corner (everyone who has a W107 SL convertible, knows which corner I mean) now slips completely resistance-free over the “holy tin” and the roof is open back-to-back! Danac h you take the two sheets off again and store them in the roof box. Since I don’t even know how to call them in the technical language, I can’t advertise them either! Because I have a brand new pair of Nirostablech with fabric reinforcement left, because I now drive an SLC – the SL was sold before the sheets were finished. So give the extra for a w107 SL handmade tin pair for the 65.- paid by me gladly.Portofrei. (I hope the admin is hi he is a little generous, whether the wrong category…)

The good one is from 10.2003 and has now run, Mercedes Benz checkbook maintained 148.000km. I have over a few corners got a repair history expression. I don’t care about all points except the following: 06.2004 – 33.500km $0404P53A33 10 SBC Coding 11.2004 – 52.800km $0406P43A64 10 Extended short test perform 06.2005 – 68.200km $0503P54A31 10 ground line and holder on SBC line set Mounting 04.2008 – 101.200km Maintenance SBC Follow-up work Can someone tell me if a overhaul has been carried out on the basis of this listed work, and if so – whether ‘quiet’ is now – or what will await me.   • Fuel pressure too high (K-Jetronic)

    Hello community! I am currently working on an SL 380, built in 1981, American version. The car starts, and goes out after 3 seconds. In good old tradition only ignition sparks measured, was there. After that fuel pressure, pressure gauge connected to the cold start valve of the K-Jetronic. When I bridge the pump relay, a pressure indicator of over 10 bar, i.e. almost stop, surprised me. Also another pressure gauge brought the same display. I also hear loud flow noises at d the pump. Since I suspect an overpressure valve on the fuel pump, I hit the pump with a rubber hammer, the pressure slowly migrates to 8 bar. I assume that the error is due here. What effects does a too high pressure on the injection system have on it? Differently asked: can damage already be caused? Greeting
