  • R 230/ SL 500 – Cracking in the steering gear 🙁

    Hello municipality. Did any of you ever have the error ? If the front axle is loaded a cracking in the steering gear, comes from the middle. Is also quite clearly perceptible and occurs approx. with every 3rd steering movement. If someone knows which damper, etc. I have to change there I would be very grateful for a hint. Greetings Armin

  • Luggage compartment damper – automatic opening

    Hello everybody, with my R230 (2002) the trunk is not really open anymore, after it has recently “fallen on my head” new dampers have to be clean – are not the youngest anymore. On the occasion the following question arises: With the newer models the tailgate opens “automatic” – are these only other dampers or is this a completely different mechanism? If it were only the dampers, can I use them? Thanks and warm greetings Kai

  • SL500 and SL65 currently not available

    I just saw that you can’t configure the SL500 and SL65 at the moment, only SL400 and SL63 are selectable: Configurator Is this WLTP? Seems so, MB Passion Blog reports that the SL63 is now offered less with 10KW and a SL500 with Ottoparticle filter will follow on July 9th. What happens to the SL65 seems unclear.

  • R129 Exchange rear windows vs. complete renewal of the top

    With my vehicle (Mopf I) the rear windows are cracked after 20 years. The top is in a very good condition. What do now? In Rhein-Main I get an exchange of the rear windows between € 350 and 480. Other saddlers discourage and recommend a complete renewal for approx. € 1900. Reason: To replace the rear windows the rear part has to be removed and on the sewing machine. Since a lot has already been glued during the assembly, a lot has to be “destroyed” during the disassembly. Even the saddler of my trust says so. Now I am torn back and forth. Please post your (long-term) experiences! Gladly with indication of the saddler. I would like to go through the renovation of the cap in October.

  • Questions before buying a R129 Mopf 2

    I would like to buy a R129, either a SL 320 or SL 500. in any case it is to become a mopf 2 from 1999 with low mileage and Euro3. Euro4 is surely illusion?! Offers with a low mileage and if necessary carfax there are some. Is there anything to consider with the SL that must be on the screen? Serial errors in engine, transmission or electronics? Origin USA, Japan or Germany/Europe? Or can you not do much wrong? And something absolutely for the 320s or 500s? Am not now the racer, cruise prefers to be comfortable over land, whereby when stepping on the accelerator pedal a sovereign forward movement can take place calmly. Perhaps not unimportant: it should become a second car/summer vehicle, annual driving performance approx. 5,000 km.

    Hello together, maybe someone can give me a few tips or make my purchase decision easier. I’m just about to add a SL R230 or R231, in any case 8 cylinders. Now to my questions, come into question SL 500, 55 AMG or 63 AMG, there are serious reasons to not buy an eg: 63 AMG? Unfortunately, most already have the facelift done what I have to take care of.   • From CLS to SL (R230)

    Hello together, even if I haven’t described for a long time, I still read a lot here. I’m just a little quieter. But on the subject. Drive a cls 350 (old model) at the moment and I’m still happy all over and still find the car class. Interesting is this is the first time this is so with me. Usually I lose the desire for a model at some point. The cls is already a great car. On the one hand, there is the option to take a cls again. There is now the mopf. On the other hand, I think about fulfilling a small dream to Ziet and changing to sl. Here, not the new model but the R230. I personally like it better. Wars tomorrow for 2 days a demonstration car than 350. I’m curious. What do you think about it? Does anyone have experiences with the SL? buyer is hot to sell me one at the moment and has already given me to understand that I can get this at the moment cheaply.     Hello together, once again in the relevant car exchanges have stopped the eyes after a 129er and once again found that the price ideas go far apart. The price level is overall, if at all, slightly below that of 2-3 years ago, when I last looked out. After I had visited a few cucumbers/blenders at that time, the pleasure has passed me, but at the moment it is itching in my fingers again. Or the other way around, how much should/should you spend on a well-maintained 320er (MOPF1) with 100-120tkm? What would be a reasonable price for an adequate 500er (MOPF0) with less than 80tkm?   • Sl 63 Amg 2013 disappointment ??

    Hello am relatively new in the forum and would like to ask you something. Was today in the NL Mercedes Duisburg and wanted to look around a bit. I saw the Sl 63 Amg and thought to myself a really chic muscular car. I looked exactly into the left double exhaust. Since I knew that with my C218 350 Cdi the two openings were rear apertures and under the apertures 2 small exhaust pipes looked out to me more intensely. Well ? What was that ? The Sl Amg has Not 4 exhaust tailpipes but 2 !! Those were only apertures under the double exhaust hoods looked out only 1 each. This was funny for me but also disappointing. The car which should cost over 150,000 EURO only has exhaust blinds ?? Pictures are available of course so that you also make a bit of fun or annoyed. My question, is it only with the Sl so or also the other Amg versions ? Thank you ! MfG Exklusiv68
