hello dear forengemeinde, are there here members who distinguished apart from the obvious, e.g. cabrio function in sl and, higher performance, design etc. at sls in everyday life, who have contrasted both vehicles?

Hello all SL drivers, how do you handle wintering (e.g. November-February) with the two batteries? 1. Possibility (and so it is in the operating instructions): Both batteries disconnect and separately charge/maintenance charge. 2. Battery maintenance device to the starter battery (without disconnecting) hang. Will the second (so-called “consumer battery” be charged? 3. 2 battery maintenance devices, each connected to one battery (without disconnecting)? 4. battery, sometimes the consumer battery (without jamming) charge? At the first possibility it is known disturbing that all calibrations (ESP/BAS, window lifter, Comand etc.) must be carried out when reconnecting, which sometimes does not succeed easily. I’d like to know which of you are going on holiday with the SL/SLK and where the trip takes you. In August I’m going with my R129 (SL500) to the Cote d’Azur. The coastal roads are awesome. If there’s too much traffic I’ll start the Col de Turini, which is mostly deserted. Wish you a nice holiday! Philipp

Hey together, I’m new here and I’m thinking about buying a SL 280. I have a few questions now. 1.) I heard that the 280 for the almost 2 tons SL is undermotorized is true? 2.) Would you like to buy me a SL from year 89 – max. 92. Do these cars have a few quirks or should I rather get a final edition what exactly is better? 3.) Was there a CD player already in the SL ( year 91/92 )? Have you seen a sl280 build year 04/95 almost 80tkm and almost full equipment Price: 16.900 ,-€ is this a good price? But am I not quite sure if it should be the 280 or the 320? What do you think? From when did the panorama hardtop come in person better than the slightly older ones. So: US lights, car phone, stand heating, leather, seat heating, Navi, E seats with memory function is a must for me in the SL. A short question still, was it available eig. at an additional cost that if you lock the car that the roof also closes? and when the roof opens? Hektor500

Hello and good day, I’ve re-registered here as I have a question about the SL ! I can buy a SL 320 (model 1997, full equipment) which has driven say and write only 16000 (!) km. The vehicle is from 1st hand, checkbook maintained, 8 times matured, TÜV/HU new. Condition inside and outside like factory new. No scratches, no dents, nothing………, ok, tyres would have to be new due to age. The price is VB 39900 € (from private). What is yours, is the price justified ? Hello, yesterday at about 200 – 210 kmh an emergency braking had to lie down and the SL started to “sling” and this on dry and straight road. During the night on the return ride (empty train – before the first screams immediately) I wanted to test this again. With a normal and also stronger braking it remains absolutely track-proof and stable. But as soon as you rise quickly and energetically on the pedal then it starts to sling again and the yellow triangular warning light in the tacho starts Is it normal with the SL, since the ABS has to switch, which one does not notice this on the brake pedal (pulse) or acoustic (ratters)? Today let off to friendly and check. Error memory of the SBC brake – NOTHING. Brake test stand – everything OK! After that just shrug at the friendly. Did someone already have this with his SL? Hello Forum municipality, intend to buy me in the next few days a SL 500 R230 from end 2002, German model. The car has run just over 70000 KM and is from second hand. The first owner has driven it for about 9 years (second vehicle ) The now wants to sell it again, there are now many positive or negative reasons. I will certainly not get the true reason! Hello, we bought a SL R129 280 built in 1994 last week. When we bought it, it was clear to us that we had to change the cylinder in the ignition lock immediately. And as long as it could still be turned I would like to do it. I have been driving a W 124 here for more than 10 years. The exchange takes only a few seconds with the right tool. Position one exactly to the point then with my processed bicycle spokes and swups is this outside. Well h I’ve been looking for the R129 in the net for a long time. There are way too many things.. somehow got completely confused.That would be so easy for the year of construction. Can someone please help me? Is the procedure like the W 124 it? Or do I have to do something else to set up and install the cylinder!? Is there a guide for this? I already have a new cylinder. Thank you for your help.

Good evening, I have a SL 350 year 2003 in which on the Vario roof outside, on the right plastic cover side of the disc (seen from behind ) when opening the roof below a approximately 10 cm large, almost square piece is broken. Why is even the workshop unclear. One sees a piece of a combi tape. I have the possibility to buy the part individually. Is the exchange easy to accomplish? I would be very pleased about an answer. Hi @ all, I would like to have a problem. With a 500 SL R129 Bj.91 the tank indicator, rev indicator, speedometer, oil pressure indicator no longer work. Temperature indicator and clock are fine. If I start the car now a flashing scheme of belt monitoring, battery charge indicator, tank reserve indicator and oil pressure lamp results that it trembles to the nerves. These indicators flash in the approx. 1Hz rhythm so ahead – but should they actually not… Who can give me something s agen and knows possibly also a solution for the problem? Likewise the question, is there somewhere in the net a schematic for above-mentioned vehicle to find? So without it is hard to hang through the wire.
