  • SLK32 AMG vs. SLK320

    Hello! All those who know a little about the above vehicles. I would be interested in the differences in the maintenance costs between these two models. I count – inspections in the Mercedes branch – wear part costs (brakes, exhaust, etc.) – Other AMG-specific spare parts costs (motor parts) In terms of fuel consumption the two do not seem to differ greatly. Will the compressor of the AMG be connected via a coupling if necessary? A 32 AMG with acceptable mileage (max. 75,000km) is available for about 25,000€. Does the engine have any known weakness or is it much more vulnerable than the simple suction version? What about the durability and running performance of this machine? Should you set aside a thick extra budget for maintenance when purchasing an AMG? Would you like to receive competent answers?

  • Is a compressor conversion worth nothing more??????

    I have an R230 500SL with Kleemann compressor, the car is optically modified with original parts to AMG 55, back AMG rear spoiler.He has Tüv,new quality tire 19 inch and I drove it carefree over 3 months.It is an accident car that has been repainted into a Mercedes special paint.How typed was the car from Kleemann for more than 15000euro converted to compressor,the charging pressure is only 0.4bar.Since I took over this car from a friend I know the lot of Se rvice extra(gear-oil, diffoil other wear parts) were made and are certified with maintenance booklet,tüv reports, invoices kilometers below 120000. Compressor conversion registered 354KW otherwise optically good car.I had a used car report taken that 23525euro value.Isn’t this car to get rid of for a fair price because it is a non-original tuning SL???? I really drove this car without any complaint through the summer,over 25 00km of sun & fun and a huge push forward.Equipment doesn’t make you want to, and the V8 runs with the retrofitted compressor really silky soft and with over 600nm never gets the feeling missing something.But I have the feeling that if you put such a sum like my friend in there,lover somewhere else for investing. Now I’m going to make another run to sell it,and that with VERLUST.gruss Matthias

  • Help! Battery rear SL 350, R230

    Hello dear SL’er Gemeinde, I have already found many tips and hints in the forum, but unfortunately no “total solution” for my problem. So to the point: roof causes problems when closing. Rear right, I call “ear flap” does not crash. Get out and press the “ear flap” in, roof closes. The friendly has repaired (a small screw of the roof lock has fallen under the rear battery in the trunk). Everything fixed, everything as far as ok. roof has immediately nac h start the engine works. The friendly guy also built a new battery in the back (October 2013), because the old one was too weak. Had before already error messages like “all consumers turned off”. After driving around the block, then it was over with the error message. And now the problem: SL is in heated garage since the end of October 2013. 2 weeks ago vehicle is unlocked by radio remote control. Short headlights started, short turn signal, then was the end. Locking button at the door no longer even went up! Display brings several red error messages: “All consumers switched off”, brake support inactive” (or so similar) … Rear window (left) down about 5 cm, then absolute silence. Opened with mechanical emergency key SL. Started with normal key Fhrzg., immediately jumped. Driven couple of kilometers, after approx. 30 minutes drive and blower on medium position all lights (inside) only weakly lit. äse has only worked minimally during the ride. Again in garage, rear battery connected to battery maintenance device. Only lamp for “discharge” has lit. After two days changed to another battery maintenance device. Now only the “charge lamp” lights up for 3 days. Does not switch to discharge. Suppose that the very new battery is in the “candle”. And now? What should I do? Driving around or driving to the friendly is not because season marks 03-10. Werd e check today on Saturday if it starts.   • Comand 2.5 NTG – DVD and Bluetooth

    Moin, always something new. My comand should actually play DVDs – it does. I have an image, but no sound. Everything else works (CD changer). Not that I wanted to use this function on my walking trips ….. And another question: What do I have to do to play from iPhone music via Bluetooth via the comand? 3. Question: What is this interface? Is there only in connection with the code U518? So far I do not have a suitable interface Kabe I can find. Best regards Thomas

  • Lowering coupling rods or module

    Hello dear Sl-driver, what is the difference or before and after for the deeper laying by ABC chassis with the increase of the coupling rod and a lowering module???? or what have you increased to the deeper laying for your SL????? I have unfortunately little idea of it because I have never made it or bought it it it is all new to me now!! Thanks to all kind answers from you love greetings

    Hello your Benz`ler Who has tips for optical tuning for the CLK W 208 ? Maybe someone might have left front spoiler/hook spoiler or side skirter. Is it worth it a CLK 230 compressor with 193 hp to tune? Please write to me. Bye Tino

  • Wheels SL 500 / Cleaning

    Hi everybody Have a small problem getting my rims and also the disks (holed ) clean. As these are perforated, brake dust accumulates at which with rainwater leaves a nice black track on the rims and the body. It is possible to clean these “holes” with a small drill bit, but this procedure is also sea-very time consuming – who has another idea to fix this problem ?? mfg Walter

    Hello community ! Had had the nice pleasure to test the current SL model as 500s on the previous WE and I have to say – just awesome ! You feel like in Abraham’s lap and everything fits…;-) At beautiful 18 degrees I could test the SL 500 extensively – open as closed ! Above all surprised me the sound – have never heard of such original. DC ! There you get really goose bumps when you leave the V8 ! That too … and what do you think ? SR

    Hello everybody, someone knows the exact equipment and technical modification of the 600 SL AMG 63? The Bj is 7/1995 and he has 440 HP. I got the good piece from Japan, unfortunately he makes me a little worry because he does not run properly. I would like to know more about the conversion scope and the equipment. On the ashtray cover is also a handwritten signature. In the plant you will find the AMG badge with chassis number. Thanks for information Jürgen
