    Hello municipality, I have a long time I have a decision problem regarding the 2 cars above. I have a BMW convertible, BUT a SL or CLK are better, nicer, nicer. …. Facts SL: Sporty, value-stable, visually appealing, robust, classics, facts CLK convertible: ( Mopf ) more modern with PDC, Comand, travel calculator, multi steering wheel, Tiptronic, more modern engines and gearboxes, more space behind. But emotional: The SL looks, let’s say, good-looking, sporty, dynamic, smooth…. The C LK is more modern, but looks (my personal opinion ) like a car from the pole, so normal. The appeal of the CLK is the above-mentioned modern interior. My question to get to the point: Has someone ever stood before the same decision and what has become of it. I do not need purchasing advice, but maybe opinions of people who had the same “” problem “. Maybe as info. Am 49 years old, woman + 2 children, who also want to ride.   • Choosing lever stuck in P……

    Hello together, now it also caught me, the selector lever is stuck in P and cannot be solved any more. SL was towed to the friendly. The brake light switch was already excluded, so probably the hook in the selector lever module is broken (known problem ). now the friendly and I is facing a problem, we would be able to replace the hook, however to do this the module has to go out and this does not go out if the lever is on P ( middle console can not be have heard what it should work if you knock on the handle of the gear lever to unlock this. does any of you have experiences or tips?   • Keyless go do not start jumps only between ignition setting 1 and 2

    Hello I would have a problem now too I have a 2004.09 SL 500 with Keyless go in the key I have 2 keys one has always started with Keyless the other has only revealed the access in car and when I then press the start button at the switch button which always only jumped between position 1 and position 2 ….. So I always used the working key there also the start process worked today at noon but my wife took the replacement key and with Him over the Ignition lock started… since that also the other key no longer works.. So the car opens with both as it should be only when I then press the button he jumps back and forth again only between ignition settings 1 and 2 can it be that the knob has lost its programming? or is that more due to the keys I just don’t know how I could proceed and would be grateful for tips

  • Sporadic noises and vibrations

    Servus, I bought a sl55 amg half a year ago and so far, 6000 km without problems. Recently he makes noises. It started when the vehicle is carefully warm and the engine has about 40 degrees oil temperature, a noise appears, which we hear a slight howling or after-running noise. Vibrations develop, which are noticeable on the steering wheel. Sometimes it is so that the noise then remains standing and sometimes is away again. The ntk pump has recently been changed to suspect. I suspect that the noise at the front is left, i.e. in the corner of the bipolar servo pump. Serve fluid has been checked and also something replenished. The noise occurs at the standing and driving vehicle. Is there any known problems with the servo pump? Could it be the pump or can it also be tapped on something else by remote diagnosis. Somehow, the problem first depends on a time period or a temperature dependence and as I said, if it occurs and the engine is restarted, it is sometimes completely gone. So I think it might also somehow have to do with the control unit. Next step might be to free the individual agregates from the drive belt and maybe drive without the pump.     Hello all!! I have a 500SL (R129) built in March 1992 quasi “herited” or took over. The car has a few “light” quirks, but still makes a very good and clean impression. Drive now for a few days with it and have found the following, for me very strange, problem. I was surprised that if I speed up with full throttle The car turns up to 6,500 – 7000 (red range) revolutions but the highest speed for the respective gear still does not then I recorded the speeds at certain rotations and compared them with videos on Youtube and found that my SL was definitely turning too high. Following approx. values2. gear 3000 UPM -> 45 km/h 4000 UPM -> 62 km/h 5000 UPM -> 78 km/h 6000 UPM -> 95 km/h 3. gear 3000 UPM -> 70 km/h 4000 UPM -> 95 km/h 5000 UPM -> 120 km/h 6000 UPM -> 145 km/h 4. gear 3000 UPM -> 100 km/h 4000 UPM -> 135 km/h 5000 UPM -> 165 km/h 6000 UPM -> 200 km/h It’s hand It’s about a 722.3 (4 gear) gearbox which otherwise switches completely normal (drive other MB from the 80s and 90s for comparison). The car also has thrust and accelerated, my eighth, normal. It’s just as if the gearbox had a shorter translation. What could that be? On the torque converter? I’ve been looking for information and remedy for days, but I couldn’t find anything until now. Would I look forward to any feedback. MfG, David.
