  • SL 280 R129

how long does such a sl 280 run when it is well preserved and is kept??? scrape at the 200tkm mark. is there certain things that are broken by default from a higher running power so 200tkm and upwards? do I have to reckon with something bigger?? or am I still in the “green area”? did the friend hear that so from 250tkm very much the light engine goes on and the transmission(5speed automatic in my case, are nevertheless installed from MJ 96,or??) slowly pushes to its limits i ch hope you can write me as much information as possible lg matias

  • Climate SL 280 R 129

Hello, at my SL BJ 1997 the climate stopped during the ride. So air conditioning was cool and cooled. At some point I thought “but damn warm here” and looked at the system. There was the lamp in the EC switch on. I pressed, and nothing happened. Even after longer waiting time or days later always the same effect. EC lamp on and climate does not cool. Does anyone have a advice or tip or should I drive directly to the friendly MB? gamby

  • Shock on Saturday SL R230/II won’t be a racer!

Last Saturday all the larger Mercedes dealers saw the new SL convertible. What a shock! The front is so strange that I canceled my “fast order”. Seller said, you get used to it. But 2010/2011 should come the real successor. After Facelift 2006, now Facelift II. Who is waiting or who is convinced of the new Facelift. I am right over to the Porsche dealer and will order 911, you can never do something wrong. ns if one of the SL designers in Bremen or Stuttgart reads with us here. 2 emergency seats like the 911 and many other sports cars or old SLs would do the new SL good in 2-3 years, because the rear shelf is now nothing half and nothing whole. The children want in there, but are not allowed and do not understand …

  • SL 350 or SL 500 Help

Hello everyone! I’m new here and I hope for your help, I’ve already read a lot here and find your knowledge really great. So my problem is this, I want to buy a new vehicle a SL350 or SL500 so from year 2002. What would you recommend to me I know that the 350 he has no ABC chassis as standard and consumes about 3 liters less. if I add a 500 I’m afraid that the ABC suspension could cause problems and the repair of this system is not particularly cheap. Since I can only drive in the city the consumption is important to me, sometimes quite honestly what consume your SL`s in the city, highway is not important. thank you very much in advance!!!

  • SL 350 or SL 500

Hello, I’m about to change my car, it’s definitely supposed to be a SL again. I’m still thinking about whether 350 or 500. My brother drives a SL 350 year 2004. I often had the opportunity to drive it and was very satisfied. This SL 350 still has almost 3.8 liters, at 245 hp and a very nice balanced ride, in conjunction with the automatic, absolutely hectic-free. The new machine has only 3.5 liters, at over 300 hp. Does anyone have experience with it? with a car not so much on the engine power, rather subjective for me, but on the feeling when driving itself. In 2010 comes anyway 130 as a top speed, EU specification, because I would feel so stupid to drive with 500 hp, 130 km/h next to a golf. I often drive in my weekend home to Belgium, gladly open when the weather is playing along. There once overtaken me a F 50, with 135 km/h, that was the ridicule itself. But again to the point, I do not want a nervous motor dri I’ve seen this before in the Porsche, when I’ve once gone abroad, and I’ve never used the acceleration to my present 500th, so I’m fond of a 350 model. I drive about 50 000 km a year and I want to do it calmly and relaxed. Greeting, Manne07

  • An embarrassment: Errors on the AMG website

Sooo… now we want to see if someone from AMG is reading here. The following errors occurred to me ad hoc on the AMG website about 1 month ago. I thought to myself… “Hmmm… well, someone will notice that … and that will certainly be corrected.” … But nothing. The mistakes are still there. Apparently nobody is looking at their own website (because the mistakes are really obvious). Point1:”Dark tail lights white on the performance character of s SL63 AMG” Well… on the one hand, the red/black tail lights know that they are not white. Therefore, they also know nothing else. The error is already a long time on the website. And the darkened tail lights pointed (if at all) already to the performance character of the SL55 Mopf1. But that is of course nowhere. Therefore, the note(s) is allowed here that the word “instruction” is not “ss” and certainly not with “ß” screaming. bt… With AMG you obviously don’t see it like this:

  • SL presentation

Was someone at the presentation and has experienced the tragedy ? The øAge of felt 65 joked over neck heating ,Diffusor uvam . Hardly enthusiasm and satisfaction , no spontaneous orders although the possibility existed . Acknowledged the buffet and the young things , which constantly filled the buffet and the glasses . Otherwise was expected more approval . The question about a lighter SL was discussed in a larger circle with the sales manager of the NL rege . the references to luxury equipment and stability were not to be satisfied. Ultimately there were about 20-25 people , among them some engineers who gave the topic weight the priority , still before performance and consumption . This had probably also been imagined by the organizers differently . Meanwhile the red wine had shown its effect with the accompanying , but not involved in the conversation in the form of quengelei so that this event found an end after about 3 hours . I h would not have thought that these elderly visitors have such constructive ideas ; if I think of some contributions here in the forum ……. mfg ortler

  • SL 55 vs SL600

Hello municipality, I have looked at several SL55 and SL600 in the last time. Actually, the decision was made per SL600. It just gets 90% closer to my driving time, even if on the other 10% of the 55s really makes more fun. And I write “actually” the 600 is a bit too high-legged. Can you change that? Ideal would be if you set a different value for Benzens on any ECU and it is 20 mm lower. Please don’t. misunderstand, he should not grind on the ground and become an “ant killer” but discreetly 20 mm lower would be already what. Is there any particular difference in operating costs? With tax and insurance they are absolutely the same and both do not drive with horse apples but petrol but what does it look like with the service? I guess there is no big difference, but it doesn’t know. THX Klaus

  • Maximum speed at SL 500 R230

What is the maximum speed for an open (no power barrier) SL 500, with 306 hp, realistic? I would estimate that it would have to be about 275 km/h.
