  • R 129 Purchase aid requested

Hi, I have been sporadically in this forum for several years now and experienced a lot of useful and interesting details, but now it is serious. I have just sold my plane and need a new toy. It will be the third vehicle for ice-eating, bread picking or holiday on the Lago. After weighing all my priorities it should ideally be a 320er, but possibly also the 280er. In any case no 500er. Important is original condition, no AMG or lowering ! Regarding the Baujah I am no longer so sure, even or just after detailed – and partly amused – study of the threads with wikled. About taste can be argued and so I prefer the MOPF 1 model, actually not the MOPF 2, but am also open to the guys 95 years ago ( was 15 years enthusiastic W 126 owner and for 2 years just as enthusiastic about my W 124 QP ). What do you think is an important equipment? In an earlier thread the talk was from the steering wheel adjustment, which I didn’t think about but will certainly be quite useful. Do you have any further tips? Inside my greatest wish would be the light beige in connection with smaragtblack outside, but that certainly can’t be found so easily. I think maybe I’ll wait until October or November, there’s a bigger selection. I want to spend 20, max. 23 K Euro. How do you find this one here? M.E. approx. 2 – 3 K too expensive!http://www.autoscout24.de/ Details.aspx?id=bxxi1llgdds4 Or the there ?http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=vnbtbjsmohrc I am happy about all tips from you specialists ! • Tips for sightseeing Sl300 R129

Hello, I want to look at this 129er and try it outhttp://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=vfzybxyju3mp Which things should I pay close attention to? I will of course check the engine thoroughly, known weak spot head seal and control housing. The offer seems serious. Originally the car should cost 6900,-. Funny that nobody has bought it yet. Or is the economic crisis to blame? I want to drive the car only in the summer. The series fits qualitatively very g ut to my W140 🙂 Would be nice if you told me your assessment…. MfG

  • It’s done – SL500

Hello SL community, since yesterday I am now after a long search full of anticipation and some travelled kilometers for visits proud owner of a SL500. The car is Bj.2003, first registration 11/2004, 40,000km (!) As for the equipment, this could be better for my taste, because I miss Keyless-Go, Panorama and TV/DVD. But maybe I find a solution in terms of TV/DVD. A new rim/tire set will also be due. Currently the original 17″ with 4 S tk. 255-ers mounted. There has to be something else. However, cars with full equipment would have been definitely more expensive. For example, a friend said: “One less thing that can be broken.” I will probably have some questions at first, and hopefully soon be ready to support others in return. Here are some photos:http://picasaweb.google.com/mariookadar/SL_500# Oh children, I am so happy!

  • SL and A.T.U. – Is this okay?

Greetings God. A buddy of mine would like to have his 300 SL do the due 120,000km inspection at A.T.U.. Now the question arises: 300SL and A.T.U. – is this good ?????? I think he makes a mistake. What do the experts here think ? Greeting from the currently sunny Worms

  • SL 55 AMG, power loss

Hello everyone, for two years I have been “stolzer owner” of an SL 55 AMG (model 2003). For some time now the following problem has been resolved: With fast motorway ride about 240 – 250 km/h (vehicle has vmax 300 km/h) with brakes at approx. 200 km/h “misses” at the subsequent acceleration about 1/3 of the power. Even at full speed it takes considerably from 210 km/h to 220 km/h to accelerate. Who drives a SL 55, knows how fast this usually goes. The power is back again. Does anyone have an idea? Is this perhaps an electronic problem? Bernd

  • SL without garage?

Hello, I would like to buy a SL R129. It should be a daily driver and not a top condition. Unfortunately I have no garage and wanted to ask if any of you have the SL standing outside for a long time in wind and weather. Please don’t teach me thanks and greeting Martin

  • High oil consumption 300SL-24 R129

Hello you screwdrivers, the winter break is here and I still have a repair in front of me. For this I need some expert tips from you. According to Tacho my engine has now 170,000 km down and runs so far very well. Admittedly, the consumption in normal driving is 14- 14.5 liters in the city traffic, but that is not yet disturbing. Rather, the high oil consumption bothers me. It is at min. 4 liters at 1000 km. In the cold condition everything is good, only as soon as the engine warms up. is he pulling a blue cloud, or rather fog carpet behind him. The engine is absolutely dry outside, no water in the oil or no oil in the water. Is it enough if I only do the shaft seals, or is that too much oil consumption for the shaft seals? Did you ever hear that the oil stripping rings are defective? I hope you have some tips for me. Greeting Dirk

  • what kind of phone is needed

  • R129 versus R230

Dear forum community, at the moment I have a SL 500 R230 as a second car. But it is not suitable for this, because I do not use the car over the winter and in spring regularly have difficulties to get it to run. This year, he does not start and says chassis too deep, although only last year the shock absorbers were renewed at the rear. In short, I will probably reject it, but would not want to do without a safe and comfortable vehicle. Now my question about the R129. r was one of the safest and most advanced vehicles of his time, but at the same time because of its time of origin I think still quite conservative (it just doesn’t hit) and with not too much frills. So is the car quite easy to repair from a factory town (Bosch service and BMW service) with little effort, or does it become as expensive and capricious as the R230 in old age?

  • R230 Facelift Conversion

Hello Motortalk friends, for a few months I don’t get a conversion to the facelift out of my head. After various topics and information I would like to put together a compilation of all the necessary information for the conversion with you, I think that will help anyone who wants to do it, I personally drive a 55 AMG from 2002 and since I don’t want to separate myself from this Fzg. I will have a WideBody conversion carried out. te call the parts for sale have to report in the thread, so everyone has something of it. Great would be if the conversions could also speak and tell about your conversion, so that you get a collection of modifications to face, then I pack all the information in the 1st post. Required parts: (How are the parts numbers???? Prices?) AMG Performance front bumper AMG Performance rear bumper + rear diffuser AMG side skirtOptional-> AMG Performance exhaust system bonnet K ühlergrill fender headlight + ?diverse sheet metal parts?? Fog headlights rear spoiler exterior mirror Companies that offer the conversion:http://www.schatz-performance.de (very convincing)http://goeckel.de (no original kit!!!) Parts for the 129er were however very good quality! FL Exclusiv <- this, however, is not able to answer an e-mail within a week. ECD topic light range control: Some claim it would be impossible to get the light range control active, from some Sources, however, I could read that it is possible. I say for my part, that it is unnecessary for this sporty sport, and the Tüv doesn't know that either. Vll. has someone a tip for the people who have to have that.
