Electrical problem – Cannot start engine
Hello, my SL 600 V12 is 14 years old. I only ride a little bit in the summer. That’s why it only ran 12,000 km and is visually and technically there like factory new, also the whole engine. The only problem is because of the long service life over winter (6 months) the two batteries, which I have to charge again and again and have also renewed twice. Recently I charged both again, then removed the chargers and during the voltage test with a Mu ltimeters had both batteries full charge. Problem I can not start the engine. If I turn the ignition key on start, there is only a quiet buzz in the engine compartment and the starter does not move. But on the engine incl. starter everything is in best order and I am sure that the starter only gets no power. With digital technology I unfortunately have problems. Does anyone have an idea? Equipment questions about the SL R230
Good day SL driver, I’ve been watching various SL of the R230 series for a long time. Now I’ve noticed a few differences, to which I’d like to know what it’s all about. I don’t mean the spoiler, which is not on the first vehicle. My questions: -are the chromed tailpipes special equipment and has this only the 380kW machine? -Do the different grills have anything to do with the years of construction? -is the ABC chassis front and back – what is this for an additional module on the rear cover of the second SL? -in the centre console around the exterior mirror adjustment are up to five functions, which are not fully occupied with both vehicles. Which functions are these?

SL600 – Engine control light – Error code first 6 cylinders do not run “round”
Hello, with my SL the MKL has been shining for some time. In addition, the engine stops and does not run round. I had the error code read out at my workshop. As a result, the first 6 cylinders do not run round. He suspects that they are the spark plugs. Question: 1) Did one of you also have this and can possibly confirm that this could be the case. 2) Can one switch to the other 6 cylinders if necessary? 3) If one is replaced, that would be IMHO 24 candles? Mercedes SL500 (R230) AMG exhaust system and MSD
Hello friends, I am well aware that there has been extensive discussion here in the forum, but I did not come to a clear conclusion for me, as there are different entries available. Would like to install the AMG exhaust system in Annex 1 at an SL500 (R230) year 2002. 1) This is the human 55 AMG exhaust rod or am I wrong? 2) Does someone happen to have a sound file, since I could not find anything suitable in the well-known forums. 3) Does the Fa exist? the possibility to replace the MSD with 2 V2A raw, in order to give the sound a little more spice? If yes, where are the MSD exactly, is this directly the two parts after the rear silencer or the part further forward?? 4) Does anyone have experience with FOX rear silencers??? The 65 AMG system now seems to be a rarity, the parts are not related anywhere. Thanks and greetings.

CTEK MSX 5.0 – Reconditioning program / Desulphation for connected batteries
Hello! I got a ctek msx 5.0 and would like to refresh my batteries with the reconditioning program / desulphation again and keep them in fire by regular use. In the operating instructions for the SL, of course, in order to suffocate any claims from possible damage already in the bud that the batteries are to be removed during charging. I would like to do without the removal of the batteries, as this would always be associated with effort (expansion of the battery) and learning ECUs) and because it has been reported several times that after disconnecting and again clamping the batteries various error messages have occurred, which have made a visit to a service station, sometimes even with repair effort, necessary. After the reconditioning program / desulphation passes the pulsating voltage through the ctek up to 15,8V, I have the fear that control units might be offended. Unfortunately, I did not find any clear statement about the reconditioning program for connected batteries in the R230. Therefore, my specific question here: Did any of you R230 owners regularly use the ctek in the reconditioning program / desulphation for batteries connected to the on-board network and can give warning, or just report on negative effects? Cover no longer opens, R129 / 1991
Hello together. The roof has closed normally and could not be opened the next day. The roof switch flashes, no click of the relays (deck control housing open) also the windows remain above, i.e. the whole process is not started all fuses (in the trunk ) checked, on the control unit I suspended 12 V voltage, battery 24 hours. Already two years ago I had the same problem, then cover control unit 129 820 00 97 (07) replaced. or another hidden fuse? Thank you in advance

They were older men over 60 (experienced men, therefore 3rd, 4th and 6th?) 6. They drove a R129 (the model I really like! That’s why I noticed the cars too) Was that really a coincidence? I don’t believe in chance! So my five questions in the context of this survey are: 1) Do you drive in great heat (38 degrees!!) also closed? Or is the roof broken and why? 2) Do you live alone and is the SL your replacement for women? And how often do you drive? You tell him, we say in the week? Installation Dension Gateway 500 in SL R230 BJ 2006
Hello everyone, I bought myself a SL500 with the year 2006 and would like to install the above-mentioned iPod interface with Bluetooth adapter. With my previous SLK I have had the Comand Gateway in the passenger footroom, but is located in the SL of the BOSE Subwoofer, so now the question is where can I find the control unit for the Comand or do I have to pull the Comand forward? I fell in love with the R129
Hello dear SL friends, z Zt I live in the USA again and have taken a SL500 R230 from my last US stay with me which I left in Germany and also drive when we are on visit to Germany. Now I want to get a SL here in USA and have fallen in love with the SL R129 in the course of time. I have also found a few beautiful specimens, all from year 2000 onwards. However, here are mainly the SL500 or SL600ers at the start. Since I have no Erf I now turn to you to give me a few tips and suggestions and what I should pay attention to. Have you heard what the ABC system counts as a weak point for the R230. Is this true? and what motorization is recommended? V8 or V12 or should I look around for an extremely rare V6?
