  • R230 roof and fan problem

Hello to all readers of this question, I drive is Feb 2009 an SL 350 (year of construction Feb 2008, first registration March-August 2008). After 10 years driving a SLK, I actually wanted to buy a SLK again. But then “fortunately” came the big crisis and I got an SL at the same price, which was only allowed 6 months and had run 8000 km. I have looked here before and read almost all entries to get a feeling for which I have two other problems: 1. One of the two fans in the dashboard can no longer be completely closed. The air flow can be controlled down, but there is still a residual air flow. I suspect that the flap does not close properly, because event. something is jammed in between. How can I get the medium ventilation element? 2. The Vario roof clamps on the right side when opening. If you look at the car from the back, you can see how the hood first lifts to the left and then raises to the right later on. The hood moves and pushes to the right of the headlight, which thanks with a loud squeak for it. The roof opens and closes otherwise perfectly. I have already tried to find the cause, but did not find any places where the roof kle Unfortunately, I can’t determine whether the locking mechanism reacts late on the right, as the hood is in the way. Has any of you ever had such a problem? Thank you for the answers Greeting Volker

  • Quality Used car check TÜV, Dekra?

Hello together, I plan to buy a SL320 Built 94. The maintenance was not always carried out at Mercedes, but by a car master workshop. The Kliometer performance is just over 10,000km. The car makes a very good overall impression, nevertheless I would like to have the car tested. Where is it best to do this? I am grateful for tips.

  • SLK 55 or SL 500 ??

Good morning, I’m thinking about what I would buy for Sunday car….if we’re just a Sunday car, I’ll ride 3 to 5,000 km a year. I recently tested a SLK 55 AMG and already had fun. the concept is interesting (small car with big engine)…. Looking around I saw yesterday a beautiful SL 500 from 2005 with 45,000 kms for about 38.000 € (that costs then also a SLK from 2006 or 2007) … but unfortunately it stands about 1000 kmm away from me and near me there is also no one to test driving… therefore a few questions to you : – SL has more great…but is he still sporty enough ? ( for small mountain rides…) – Can I drive such a car with 36 or should I rather wait 20 years… – How reliable are all these electronic things like ABC, SBC, …usw ?? – Maintenance costs and consumption should not be higher than with the SLK55…..or ?? What would you advise me and why ? nke for the info !!

  • R129 Checklist Quantity divider

Hello and good day, wanted to ask if there is a checklist or checklist before you buy a quantity divider to really exclude all other mistakes. I would like to report the following, my 500 SL Bj.92 129,066 simply went out at a crossroad at Red and did not jump any more. Towing costs 150€ in a workshop I was told that it is 90% of the quantity divider, but only 90%!!!!! So. now to me, should I buy the part on suspicion??? According to the workshop was the petrol somehow manually injected and it immediately jumped on, petrol also comes up to the volume divider, but is not forwarded. Cold starter was tested and funnels perfectly, therefore you notice that he wants to start and does this once in a while, but goes out again. According to the Master, after I have read now already 7 days in the www., I have come to a small table which one should possibly work off. For corrections and extensions I would have very grateful!! -Camshaftsensor -Lamdasonden -Pump pressure -Fault codes -Zündsteuergerät -Unterdruck -Quantity divider measure, upper chamber, lower chamber, system pressure, holding pressure -EDW or immobiliser if installed I hope very much that someone can help me here and for that I would like to thank you in advance to have read this post by. MfG. Jan

  • Thanks to all forum members of new SL600 driver

Hello dear forum members, I have been able to inform myself about the SL and the variety of models here in the last weeks. Especially the discussions pro/contra of individual models (e.g. SL55AMG vs. SL600) were super interesting! In the end I decided for an SL 600 which best suits my wishes (some understatement and much, lots of driving fun if you want). At this point I would like to thank ALL, who are here so constructive and the many readings. rn in the “background” give great information and valuable suggestions on the way! I will try to participate too – but will not be able to shine as a technical expert – let’s look. A lively exchange with other 600 drivers (R129 o. R230, no matter) would be great, even if there are certainly not so many here, right?? Again nice greeting to the round! SL600ler

  • Squeaking, wheel speed dependent noise

Hello, I have had a squeaky, wheel speed-dependent noise while driving for about half a year. (R230 SL350 Built. 06) The noise probably comes from the front left from the area of the brake. From approx. 50 km/h to approx. 100 km/h the squeaking appears audible, it gets faster and faster after wheel speed. However, the noise only occurs as soon as the car has been warmed up and already a few kilometers behind it. My first guess was the brake, however, changes the No sound when it is activated. I also checked whether the noise changes when I set up “N” during the ride – no difference. With brake cleaners I have flooded the brake and checked whether particles have caught up in the perforated brake disc. Several MB workshops and an MB branch have taken care of the problem, but could not find anything. The rear brake discs + brake pads have been renewed (Hinten MB original). rderen were still as good as new, the brake pads were nevertheless sanded (front ATE brake disc with ATE Ceramic brake pad). The tyres are only 1 year old, but were already tested with others. Also the parking brake was checked – everything was fine. Did everything cost a lot of money but nothing. Is there perhaps any special features because of the SBC brake? Could it have to do with the ATE components? Does anyone still have a tip what to check? could? I would be very happy about advice from you. Thank you very much! Greeting Marcel

  • Mercedes SL R230 2008 Luggage compartment leaks

Hello, next problem with my SL. When opening the boot cover, I noticed that the rubber seal was leaking at the transition from the rear window to the boot on the left and right. There were always a few drops of water on the underlying velour lining. I then raised the boot floor and found that the felt part underneath was also wet in the depression. Under the part is then the entire electronics and control for the Ca briodach plus Battrie. There it was also well moist. I then dried everything and covered the complete control modules and the battery with lots of newspaper and off to the friendly. They then made leak tests and replaced all trunk seals. The annoyance with it: they checked properly with water for leaking and also found that it was leaking. But where the water then ran, she obviously did not care. When I removed the car from old and looked at the bottom of the trunk, where I had laid down the newspapers, they were soaked. Without the newspapers I would have been country under I then preferred to dry everything myself again and laid out again with newspaper. Today I am then at the friendly through the wash road. All dense. Greetings from the sunny Rhineland Rudi

  • R129 Pre-mop instrument instrument

Hello up there, someone knows if you can install an AI with digital counter in the R129061 with AnalogKmZähler? According to EPC there is only one number 129 540 70 48 (at 4gang Automatic). Nevertheless, yesterday I saw a 500SL year of construction 1991 that already had the digital version. Greeting F.
