  • SL 500: Scattered vacuum pump even though ZV works (except for rear flap pull)??

    Hello, would like to start a new thread again, following on from the existing one: https://www.motor-talk.de/…/…est-not-complete-t6901261.html?… Could be interesting and helpful for some others with similar problems, regarding diagnostics of the friendly. Was now with the friendly one today, among other things, the problem that the tailgate of my SL500 R230 does not pull itself completely (up to about 1 cm). He said that it was no problem, is probably somewhere leaking in the Vak uumsystem. After some time he called me and said directly that the vacuum pump was broken, replacement necessary for 1000€ net. Had I absolutely not expected, for the following reasons: – All other mechanisms controlled by the vacuum pump (ZV locking and locking of all lockers inside) work perfectly. – The well-known “trick”, battery to/from and/or fuse out/pure works, then the tailgate closes completely, but only for 1-2 times) – One Hissing/air noise can be heard when opening/closing the tailgate in the tailgate lock. Therefore, hold a broken vacuum pump for excluded, instead rather a leak somewhere in the pipes or even directly in the lock. I also told the friendly one, whereupon he became somewhat unfriendly. How do you see this?

  • Conversion to performance front- what is needed?

    Moin! It’s me again, quick question, I bought this performance front. An original. Of course without components. What do I need now? Can you take anything from the old ?! I don’t think or ? Question does not rush. Still a few days until I have finished everything on the car and he finally rolls back and front with original bumpers 🙂 back then with Facelift AMG rear and front with performance 🙂 that’s nicer than the current crap.

  • SL300/24 R129 ASR and ABS lights do not go out

    Hello, have the following problem for some time now. After starting the engine, the ASR and the ABS light remain on. The consumption indicator is without function. After a short time there is a little jerk from the engine and everything is ok again. Also the ASR and ABS lights go off. Also I have the impression that the engine sometimes does not run on all cylinders after starting. This takes only about a second. Then it runs as usual. Can it possibly lie on the throttle? I have heard that there can be problems with this. A few more dates: SL 300/24 year 1992. KM-Stand 182000. I would be happy about one or the other tip. Holger

  • Datasheet SL 380 US model

    Hello, after consultation with my responsible TÜV engineer I need a data sheet for the registration of my 380 SL US model (built in 1982) in Germany (any year 1980-85) or the copy of a vehicle letter (380 SL US model registered in Germany). A specific for my chassis number (VIN or FIN) is not mandatory. Who has already registered his SL 380 from USA in Germany and could send me the data (e-mail: (lumitz@alice-dsl .net), photo, PDF, …)?   • MB r129 500SL (240KW)

    Hello, I have been driving a MB r129 500SL (1992) for about 4 years and have had the car completely restored (underfloor, engine, paint and leather equipment). Now the exhaust line leaves me in the lurch. The catalyst has given up the spirit and I have got several catalysts on the “after-market” and no one has held out for more than 50 km (the game now lasted 3 times and now it is enough). I need according to MB parts catalog following KAT 1294900319. Now my 2 Questions: 1. there are different parts numbers for the 500SL, which according to different sources should also fit: among others 1294901314 or 1294901414. does anyone know if there is actually a difference in the 500 series pre-mop? 2. Since there is no longer the catalyst at Mercedes, what recommendations can you give me for a KAT production? I had always read something from a Mr. Fischer from Bad Tölz in another chat?!?     Hi guys! I’d like to get underfloor lighting on my CLK 320 (W208). But when I looked at the underfloor like this, I just thought, where should they be fixed? Has anyone had any experience there? In Sat.1 Automagazin (believ always comes Sundays) one of some tuners in the studio stood.   • Buy CLK 320?

    Ask CLK 320 experts I’m just wondering if I should buy the CLK320 W 208 (the old box from student times is slowly getting tired).The experience with the 320 sound positive, and a purring six-cylinder is very tempting. Now my question: which parts are vulnerable and what should I consider when buying a used one (built in 98 or 99)? Are there children’s diseases? Are 18000 euros too much money, (for leather equipment, some extras and about 80000 km)?

    CLK gear problems Do you also have such problems with the mechanical 6 gear transmission. It is connected with a lot of effort to insert the 1st gear. I can give a sufferer a few tips.
