  • Missing cover in SLK 350 under the hood

Last week I discovered by chance that under the hood in the area of the vents a cover (in driving direction right , where the battery is located ) is missing. A call to the friendly one and he ordered me then this part with mounting material. According to the statement there are probably also models, which have no cover !? My model here allegedly does not belong to it. When I wanted to install it this evening, I noticed that there has never been a cover mounted. The drill holes are available, but no plug-in sockets into which the screws can be attached. I noticed the sockets, but why have never been there before? Could you check on occasion how this is with you?

  • SLK R171 BJ 2004

Hello together, drive an Audi A4 1.8T at the moment and think about buying a SLK. An acquaintance offered me his also by chance at the WE. It is a R171 BJ 2004 and has just run 25,000 km. However, has a small bump on the hood and the aluminium rims sniffed a little bit. Since I don’t know myself so well with the SLK I would have liked to have a few opinions. Isn’t the R171 only come out in 2004? So because of childhood diseases? Is there something out of what f you should pay special attention? Unfortunately I can’t say anything about the equipment yet. Wanted to see the car the days. What would see as a good price? I would be happy about answers. Greeting, Kevin

  • AMG GT Vulnerabilities

Hello Together I’m about to get an AMG GTS. You can choose from a vehicle with 2016 and one with 2015 year of construction, mileage 15,000/4,000 km. Are there any vulnerabilities in the pre-MOPF vehicles that you should pay attention to? Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Oil stop cable

I want to buy a r171 bj 06.2008 with 184 hp. The owner claims that the car is top in order because it was only moved in the summer and always stood in the garage. It only ran 75,700 km, which he can of course prove. I asked for the rear axle and rear axle carrier because of rust, control chain and oil stop cable, he meant the car is in the original condition and the chain is still Oryginal, oil stop cable is not installed, because it was not necessary he also has current Tüv without defects. Here my question : can it be that with 75,700 km it is really not necessary to build the oil stop cables, or if I buy the car now, should I have it done anyway? (it is not expensive) Should I read the tax chain also, although at the moment makes no noises? Because of rust and general check we will drive together to DEKRA. Here a couple of photos I have received from the seller. Many thanks and cordial greetings. Maria.

  • The unreasonable purchase – Mercedes SLK 200 Komp. R170

Hello together, would like to introduce me in this round, actually am at home with the W210ers and a little bit at the C209nern. Then while browsing on a SLK 200 K from 2000 and after negotiation for the price of an e-bike bought from the discounter. Workshop invoices from 2023 +2024 are before the higher the purchase price. 4 new all-weather tires Uniroyal 17′ were raised, battery, water pump, air filter, interior filter, brakes round around, brake fluid, oil change with filter. The TÜV was renewed on purchase by the previous owner 06/2026 with small defects and the indication beginning corrosion on the sound damper. The SLK has leather, climate, seat heating, radio CD, 6 gear, is completely original up to 17′ LM wheels and runs surprisingly agile. Starting rust on the front fender holder, and wheel runs still behind, as well as with the luggage compartment unlocking. Here I will answer, rust up, rust waller and to the closing part of the tires will not be affected.

  • SLC as a full-year vehicle

A friend of mine is thinking of buying a used SLC 200 and selling his other car. From the place, that would be enough, but he is not sure if it is good to use the SLC with the folding roof all year round, so also in snow. How do you see it? No problems? j. PS: How do you rate the price development of the SLC? Does it have chances of a small loss of value because it is no longer built?

  • SLK R170 200 (without compressor) Light switch (A170 545 01 04) defective or other problem?

Hello again, I was unfortunately quite unsuccessful in my internet search. With me since yesterday evening the stand light does not go out when I put the light switch on “0”. I.e. stand light at the front; rear; license plate lighting; valve lighting lights and the car beeps when I open the door. Did then the battery clamped down accordingly, to deal with me more closely today. My first guess was a safety problem, but all fuses look so clean, so I removed the complete light switch. Then everything went out and also the beeping stopped. Does that mean for me that the light switch is actually defective, or can still provide something else for the problem? Can someone tell me which plug on the light switch is responsible for what? The second from right to picture 1 is in any case responsible for the warning tone and the valve lighting. PS: Another observation: When I have connected the battery again today at noon the stand light did not work directly again. Only when I activated the light switch, however, it did not go ahead of time.

  • Fan connection Interior connections? (SLK R170)

Hello guys, can someone tell me how the fan connections of the interior fan are switched under the glove compartment? The Puster regularly fails and jumps arbitrarily again. A system behind it is not recognizable. We could not provoke any wobble contacts. We removed the engine yesterday and cleaned everything. Defects are not visible. Collector and coals look good. Bearings run easily. To circle the sporadic error, I want to measure or connect a test lamp to the supply line before we expand the whole switch element. Can the controller be also? The fan box has 3 connections, which go inside on the controller. And the other side probably to the blower step switch Only what is what and how occupied? Plus, mass and control line? A circuit diagram of the overall circuit with the ventilation step switch would be great.
