Hello, I have a VFL 230K since March 2000. the vehicle has very little Km (60K) and more than 10J old tires, which I would like to replace now. My questions would be: * Does anyone have experience with all-year tires on this car? * Which tires would you recommend? It is especially about adhesion in wet weather, since the car – without ESP – already has quite difficult properties in wet weather.

Question about brake discs – SLK 55 AMG R171
Hello SLK driver, according to Brembo the brake discs fit with the number 09.A731.10 or 09.A731.11 for many different models of Mercedes. Among other things for the SLK (R171) 55 AMG (171.473) 03/04/ – 02/11. Here the link:http://bremboaftermarket.com/…/Catalogue_Detail.aspx?… I thought the discs at the 55s are always 32mm thick and only with MB to get? Then it seems that there is another brake system at the VA from Mopf on. ? Would be very pleased with an answer. Thanks already. MfG Flo

New SLK – roof remote control is not possible!!
Just picked up and already the first lack! The roof cannot be opened with the remote control! Sometimes at least the two small rear side windows, sometimes only the boot cover … Then everything stops! You can only move the car with the ignition key in the lock and with the interior control to open or close the roof. Quite disappointing for a new car! Such defects leave me in doubt about the quality control of Merc edes arise! Hopefully the car doesn’t have any more flaws! 🙁

Slide dissolves from my panorama roof
Hello SLK Gemeinde I have a used SLK350 R172 year 07.2011 with Young Star Warranty. At the front of the Panorama roof the foil has dissolved, which is visible from the outside. What my branch Rhein-Ruhr Center Neuss also confirmed to me.The friendly took photos of the replaced foil.He sent these photos to Berlin to clarify the overname of the costs. After a week came the answer from Berlin. It is not a guarantee case. It would be only an optical impairment. Mercedes would take over half of the costs for a new panoramic roof. And now comes the banger. The panorama roof costs 1800Euro the installation of the panorama roof again 1200Euro. My branch would also take over 500Euro.That means for me a part of 1000Euro.I am not ready to pay this 1000Euro.Who knows the problem and can help me further or give me a piece of advice what I can do in this case. Quote from Mercedes:Jung e Stars as Mercedes as on the first day Greetings to the SLK municipality otter-62

R172 What winter rim sizes are you driving?
Hello in the round, I had my flicker raise his summer rubbers yesterday on the 17′ available when buying and have now four Pirelli winter tyres with 2x7mm and 2x4mm residual profile left. What is the most unskillful doing with it? My tyre dealer of trust has presented me with two scenarios, as I want to buy 4 aluminiums next winter. 1) 17″ Buy aluminiums for my other tyres. Probably advantages with stuck snow covers. But more badly plows through mud. Lu This means that a Conti winter tire per Pneu costs 45 euros more than with 16″ note from me, I need fresh snow chains or starting aids again and calculate here with approx. 200 Euro 2) 16″ buy aluminiums and the 17″ Pneus for a handful of Euros once in autumn and in spring down. Unfortunately is very clumsy. But for 16″ I still have chains and the wheel box becomes more accessible. I drive a lot and the safety goes ahead. So far I had 16″ on my C class and ka Except for the one snowstorm Friday this winter, there had to be chains up and I didn’t get them mounted and removed in the wheel box. What are you driving and how satisfied are you with it?

SLK present? R172
Hi. Find a JW as a gift for my wife. At yesterday’s test I wanted to adjust the seat manually in height. First I slipped at the lever and almost cut myself. Then I was afraid that the lever would not create my wife’s 60kg and break off. Jmd has had experiences in this regard?

R170 MOPF ignition oscillator cylinder 1 and 2 –
Hello, I am a newcomer here at the engine talk, come from the front Eifel and like to screw around cars. Up to now almost always with success, but on the weekend I bought a problem child: Mercedes SLK 230 Compressor Mopf BJ 2001 230000 km. Only very little rust. The price was cheap. Known defects ZV and roof is not possible. Tüv completely new and during the test drive everything was OK. On the first 50 km motorway ride I noticed that the SLK did not get particularly fast. The next day the following thing happened: car starts to stutter after 20 km and runs only on 3 cylinders, while trying to drive home a lot more then a cylinder. In the error memory is the ignition dropout cylinder 1 and 2. So first of all ignition coils and candles out. The candles look new (and are also not wet). So candles again in, and ignition coils of 1 and 2 with 3 and 4. Error memory deleted and After a few seconds normal engine run again only 3 cylinders at the run. A little later then again only 2 cylinders. In the error memory again ignition oscillators 1 and 2. Despite changed ignition coils. In case of defective coils now cylinder 3 and 4 should have been in the error memory. In all further tests I found that the engine runs better when I clamp the air mass meter. – So I knew it must be on the LMM. So a new besor gt and built-in. Unfortunately, that didn’t work. Does anyone have any idea what the ignition triggers can still come from? Maybe injection nozzles? Does anyone know if the PSE ZV pump also has something to do with the roof function? In the troubleshooting of the central locking I had to find out that the pump in the car is completely missing. If the PSE is only responsible for the ZV, I could do without the expensive part and stop manually on and close.

Mercedes AMG GT 43 (421 hp)
For 8 years I’ve been driving the S Coupé 500 (2015) with 8 cylinders, 455 hp, rear wheel drive, corner tilting technology, 2030 kilos. I’ve never been bored with this still great car. However, an extensive test drive with the new AMG GT 43 convinced me to change. I can’t understand the statement that 4 cylinders are insufficient for a Gran Turismo. The 421+15 hp are really fun at 1790 kilos. At some point between October and December it’s time. Unfortunately, the test vehicle had no rear wheel steering and also no AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package. Although I don’t know how much these two special equipment really bring, I just ordered it along. On the paper, it felt somehow coherent. Does anyone have experience with these systems here? Massage and such frills I left out for it. The massage has not changed at all in the last 8 years and in my opinion is always noc h not to be used 🙂

Solenoid valve A7/3 (Hydraulic unit traction system) – power supply Errory
Hello! With my SLK 230 compressor R170 BJ 1997 the BAS/ASR light shines some time after the start. Misreading results: – C1200 error brake light switch – C1314 solenoid valve A7/3 (hydraulic unit traction system) – power supply Faulty – C1020 CAN communication disturbed I have already changed the brake light switch, no success. K40 I have already checked, i.o. now I want to check the power supply of the ASR hydraulics, but how? I have the dic Where is the corresponding relay located? What is it called? Where are all the relays installed in the R170 anyway? Does anyone have a schematic of this problem? Thanks for the help! Andi
