  • short antenna for w171?

Hello, abe just bought a w171 Bj 2006 and would like to have a shorter antenna. Is there a short attachment that you simply screw on the existing foot, or do I have to change the whole antenna, if yes, for which and how is it with the remote control reception? Thanks, Ingo

  • Automatic or blonde problem?

Hello SLK municipality. My wife drove with her SLK 200, 5 years old today, to a wash road system. The procedure is: Automatic on N, start engine and get off. When she just wanted to get in after the washing process, the car rolled off and drove against a mast. The damage is considerable, but my wife was fortunately not overrun by her own car. She is sure that the selector lever stood on N. Moreover, one employee told her “the selector on top of N, oh, you’ve already done that.” Question: has any of you experienced a similar situation?

  • Question about AMG Package & Xenon Headlights (ILS)

Hello Mercedes friends, and I would like to know if the ”Sport button ” is present in the AMG package. Are there different buttons, e.g. to operate Airscarf. As far as I know, when pressing the ”Sport button ” the chassis will be slightly lowered and so on. Now the question arises whether this is present in the AMG package. If we are already on the topic, do you know what is actually triggered by pressing the ”Sport button ” ? Is it really necessary? What exactly is everything different then, better? That’s it. Thank you very much in advance. LG

  • SLK R172 Switch to Osram LED H7

Hello community, I have just recently installed the above-mentioned pears on my C-Class. One side runs clean from the beginning, the other had the flickering, so that I have installed the Canbus adapter there. Since then everything has been running impeccable. Now I think about the whole thing for the SLK, which however I only move in the best weather and rarely in the dark. The consideration is quite pragmatic: Is it easy to install it, then I do it. Will it be cumbersome, then stop. 😉 The SLK I have not yet so long, so that I only know so far that one has a kind of maintenance flap in the wheel box to come to the pear. Does someone have short experience values or even one, two pictures of a lamp exchange, so that one can estimate the whole thing something? Are there experiences, whether there also a flicker occurs there (after release list actually no Canbusdapapter is needed, but in the C-Class it was allegedly not useful and yet as a solution in the result. And if I want to thank this small box in the SLK would not want to build it up again? unfortunately. I also have to have to have to have to keep up again.

  • SLK 200K as first car

Good evening, I am playing with the idea of buying my car as a first car. Specifically, it is this offer:https://link.mobile.de/eAraBmrytFSRSsFq7 The car has 220.000km and according to the dealer is conditionally maintained checkbook. Visually it is in good condition in my view. I think the car is quite nice and relatively little “sucked out” for this year of construction. Of course, I am an absolute used car newcomer, but try to inform me as well as possible before. Of course, one has to reckon with a few problems here and there but at the moment I have about 2000 euros per month available and would of course also invest some euros of it. Since it is a first car, it should still not be too expensive, even if theoretically more investment than 3000 euros would be possible, therefore such an old car would be possible. Service is of course so much a matter with Mercedes, but the general maintenance here probably should not cost a kidney.

  • Been ripped off with parts

Hello, I have to tell you my story, and I paid a lot of money for my stupidity. my SLK 200 was re-equipped in a free workshop (small business) with a wedge-belt pulley and pulleys. He had also found out that I needed a new hydraulic pump, the price for the parts would be 1150€ plus 150€ working time so together 130€. The mechanic said the parts are so expensive the servo pump costs 798€ and the set 280€. I was so stupid and had it done because I needed to drive the car to work. It left me no rest and a few days later he had himself an offer of the parts trading where the mechanic had ordered the parts. The price -30% discount was with everything together with 380€. I drove with the offer to the mechanic and confronted him. Then he only told me to send you a bill, I have to say he made it again without a bill because he said it will be much more expensive. Now he sent me a cobbled invoice, with many positions which he could not even give me?

  • Reporting “brake wear”

Today, for the first time, the message “brake lining wear” came in the display. According to friendly people, the brake discs were already slightly lowered in the front in April, but still ok. That makes sense: first change after 40,000 km, now at 90,000 km that fits already. (Hints have held the brake discs 70,000 km). Now the question: does this message mean that (also) the brake discs are down, or does it really only mean the brake pads? These would be significantly cheaper to replace. Can it be that the pads are to be changed more often than the discs? I thought it was always exchanged. It also doesn’t stand there whether the front or the rear is the wear. In the most stupid case, I let everything change in the front and in truth only the pads are down at the rear… Either way or so: I never had this message before. Does anyone know that? Normally, the NL is changing rather early, so that it doesn’t come to the report at all.
