Hello I’ve been researching for a while, but unfortunately I haven’t found anything. It’s about the following: My decision to buy a SLK this year has fallen. I like both the R171 and the R170. My budget limit is 15,000,- €, so my selection will be very limited as far as the R171 is concerned. Is there a way to adjust the command dingsda (i.e. radio etc.) of an R170 to the modern and how I find much more beautiful optics of an R171? If yes, where can I have that done and at what price? I know that some people like the “old” design of the R170 as far as the radio console is concerned, but I don’t like it. I also saw some SLK, where the color (e.g. red) is worn out inside (this has nothing to do with the radio console now). Is there a possibility of improvement here? I would be happy about helpful information!

Rockfall prone Windshield?!?
Moin, moin zusammen… a question to the other SLK drivers here in the forum: How many stone strokes have you had? I have had my SLK for a good 1.5 months now and have already had the third stone blow in the disc. in the 16 years before I didn’t have a single one. I usually drive exactly the same track to work, I rarely get over 130 / 140 (doofes tempo limit), so also no more than with other cars before it… Do I just have bad luck or is the SLK’s disc here More vulnerable than the other models / brands? Greeting Michael

Should you still buy the R171?
Hello municipality, I am facing the decision to buy a roadster. Since it is supposed to be with steel roof, only Z4 2.3 sdrive or SLK 300 remain for me 1. With the SLK fell with the proportions much better than with the Z4 with far too long bonnet. 2. I assume that the SLK after 7 years is a mature car. The SLK is a run-out model, technology etc. compared to the Z4 five years older and the price for a 2009 it starts at about 34,000. The R172 comes next year, I still like the R171 well, inside and outside. Now my question: buy? or would it be unreasonable? I am grateful for all the answers and advice.

Loud howling sounds
Hi guys, I’m posting it here because it’s probably not a model-specific problem. It’s about an MB SLK, EZ 99, 200 without compressor with 5speed automatic. Between 25 and 60 km/h the car gives loud howling tones of itself, which are difficult to describe. Almost like an organ pipe or several. The noise is speed-dependent, not speed-dependent, in thrust operation clearly louder and different than if I give gas. Brakes does not change anything, at all, so I close the It is also not a typical brake squeaking or wheel bearing whistles, but much lower. When rolling on N, the noise does not change, except insofar as the load goes away from the drive. Does the differential, but so melodic, remain?

Buy SLK 200 model R170?
Hello dear Mercedes friends, do you have some questions about buying a car? You all know each other well and I had already before 2 Mercedes 190 and 230 but SLK 200 I already something different. So on the subject: I would like to buy a SLK 200 and will visit one tomorrow : SLK 200 ,,,No compressor,, year 1998 approx. 160000 Km run with new TÜV/AU Price:VB 3800 Euro What should I pay attention to when buying , ,illnesses ?,, Can one actually a so old FZ without bad doubt so buy from private (therefore no warranty). camshaft switch is already known to me should not be oiled (plug from sensor) capillary effect oil wanders through the cable to the control unit etc. and then it becomes expensive! rust at the tailgate license plate holder ,schweller, wheel runs, door edges and bonnet is also known to me ! roof should open or close within 28 sec and wash roads be tight I also know! So now I am curious which tips you still in stock ha bt? 😉 LG Poloblackdragon

Projection of the brand logo in the exterior mirrors
Hello, we have now picked up our new SLC 250 d at the Bremen plant in June. Although our order from January is still listed, the projection of the brand logo in the exterior mirrors could not be implemented at the production date. So this feature is missing from our mirror package. Meanwhile, however, the projection of the brand logo in the exterior mirrors is available. There should be this also as retrofitting (with part number), or? Unfortunately, nothing could be done about To find the LED mirror lights on “projection of the brand logo” with original Mercedes parts. And otherwise on the web unfortunately only the entry lights in the doors and not in the mirrors are spoken. Therefore I would be very pleased about information and part numbers for retrofitting. Thank you Michael

Costs for service at MB branch
I’m already ready to pay salted prices for good performance. But lastly, the invoice at my branch for the service seemed quite high: Assyst B: 680,00 € Renewing brake fluid: 140,00 € Change of transmission oil and filter: 870,00 € TÜV + AU: 175,00 € Change of tyre + storage: 160,00 € Total: 2.025,00 EUR The change of transmission oil, tyre storage and brake fluid change cost a whopping 20% more than 4 years ago. i MB 77,- EUR, on the other hand at Amazon the one from Bosch 27,- EUR. Does that seem to me to be somewhat extreme?

Am I the only one who likes to have a wireless & TOUCHBARES Carplay radio in his SLC ?!
Hello first of all, I am looking forward to becoming active here as well, because at least I am just as new here in the forum as my new SLC at my door. And even if after the well thought-out change from my beloved 2004 SLK on the whole I am really very satisfied. Can and want to be with my new SLC with what in my eyes could even be called a technical backward step – not so easy to accept. And this is about the (NOT) touch for me. This is why I would like to ask the question: Am I really the only one who would like to build a contemporary: multimedia TOUCHBARES (Wireless) CarPlay Radio in his SLC ?!? If there should be the one or the other who has already successfully accepted this conversion project, then I have the great request and hope that e P.S. The photos show my beloved (at that time unfortunately still cabled for this but TOUCHBAREN) CarPlay retrofitting in my former 2004 SLK with the Alpine ILX-700. The photos show that I am very much in love with you, but that’s not the case.

Spark plug SLK 200 R170 Maleur !
Hello dear Mercedes friends ,need help again! Can you change a spark plug plug with the SLK 200 R170 without a compressor? Today when changing candles the first candle plug when you stand in front of the engine is canceled!? Now I don’t know if I only need the plug or the cable which goes to the ignition coil? If only the plug can be changed this is hard to connect the cable to the plug? The car runs (only 3 candles changed) because I have the candle plug he who broke out was not able to pull out (wanted) because I was afraid the cable was tearing off and then he doesn’t run anymore !? Need your help as the broken plug is certainly not good,or? gruss polloblackdragon
