This can have bad consequences for Mercedes! Watch out for metal spews at the CDI in the fuel filter!! Mercedes must change everything! I had a conversation today with a certain Mr. Wolf (www.chip-tuning.at) who sells tuning chips, i.e. precisely intermediate boxes. He explained to me that he or his sales and his partners would be the only ones (!?) worldwide that do NOT do the tuning by increasing the loading pressure and injection pressure, but they work with changes in the diesel air mixture. It’s not understandable to me as layman. But in my opinion, it sounds quite good if the loading pressure and injection pressure are not increased. Is that a humbug? Is it possible to increase the performance of the CDI only by means of chip without increasing the pressure? I am now completely confused, since I don’t understand anything about it, but other people don’t want to make a mistake. 280/350 SLC conversion automatic -> switch
Servus, I want to get a C107 soon. It shouldn’t be too expensive, I think of up to 7000 €. I’d like to have one with a manual transmission, but these are quite rare. Is it possible to install the automatic transmission and a manual transmission with a 280SLC or 350SLC with a reasonable effort? Live for eleven years in Brazil and have decided a few weeks ago to pay tribute to “my” revered brand Mercedes-Benz. Before I emigrated from Switzerland to BR in the beginning of 1997, I had owned various MB vehicles for 15 years and thus developed myself into a complete (but not “blind” fan of the brand. (details see in A-Class W168 under “Without MB-Werkstatt). So I bought a 99-er W220 (S 500) – beautiful and fully equipped, but will only be delivered in about two weeks and immediately for my girlfriend a 99-er W168 (A 160) – also with full equipment and little km-performance. My problem will be that I don’t have a MB-relief close by, but I am already looking forward to maintaining with you all the lively technical contact in order not to neglect the two Benzchen.
