As I see it, this car is going to be a flop in Germany. I haven’t met a vehicle of this series in my surroundings yet. Blower aloud
Hello to the R-Class driver, now that it has become cold, I used the defroster position of the blower for the first time. So the one that blows the air concentrated against the windshield. The ventilation is not only very loud (I think this is more normal) but the fan is accompanied by a loud high frequency whistle. Regularly annoying. Does anyone have similar experience with their R-Class?

SL500 and SL65 currently not available
I just saw that you can’t configure the SL500 and SL65 at the moment, only SL400 and SL63 are selectable: Configurator Is this WLTP? Seems so, MB Passion Blog reports that the SL63 is now offered less with 10KW and a SL500 with Ottoparticle filter will follow on July 9th. What happens to the SL65 seems unclear.

R129 Exchange rear windows vs. complete renewal of the top
With my vehicle (Mopf I) the rear windows are cracked after 20 years. The top is in a very good condition. What do now? In Rhein-Main I get an exchange of the rear windows between € 350 and 480. Other saddlers discourage and recommend a complete renewal for approx. € 1900. Reason: To replace the rear windows the rear part has to be removed and on the sewing machine. Since a lot has already been glued during the assembly, a lot has to be “destroyed” during the disassembly. Even the saddler of my trust says so. Now I am torn back and forth. Please post your (long-term) experiences! Gladly with indication of the saddler. I would like to go through the renovation of the cap in October.

Questions before buying a R129 Mopf 2
I would like to buy a R129, either a SL 320 or SL 500. in any case it is to become a mopf 2 from 1999 with low mileage and Euro3. Euro4 is surely illusion?! Offers with a low mileage and if necessary carfax there are some. Is there anything to consider with the SL that must be on the screen? Serial errors in engine, transmission or electronics? Origin USA, Japan or Germany/Europe? Or can you not do much wrong? And something absolutely for the 320s or 500s? Am not now the racer, cruise prefers to be comfortable over land, whereby when stepping on the accelerator pedal a sovereign forward movement can take place calmly. A check at Mercedes Benz is of course planned, despite new TÜV acceptance and if necessary Carfax. Perhaps not unimportant: it should become a second car/summer vehicle, annual driving performance approx. 5,000 km.

From CLS to SL (R230)
Hello together, even if I haven’t described for a long time, I still read a lot here. I’m just a little quieter. But on the subject. Drive a cls 350 (old model) at the moment and I’m still happy all over and still find the car class. Interesting is this is the first time this is so with me. Question about brake discs – SLK 55 AMG R171
Hello SLK driver, according to Brembo the brake discs fit with the number 09.A731.10 or 09.A731.11 for many different models of Mercedes. Among other things for the SLK (R171) 55 AMG (171.473) 03/04/ – 02/11. New SLK – roof remote control is not possible!!
Just picked up and already the first lack! The roof cannot be opened with the remote control! Sometimes at least the two small rear side windows, sometimes only the boot cover … Then everything stops! You can only move the car with the ignition key in the lock and with the interior control to open or close the roof. Quite disappointing for a new car! Such defects leave me in doubt about the quality control of Merc edes arise! Hopefully the car doesn’t have any more flaws! 🙁
