    Good evening, I have already reminded some time ago that the “P” button unluckily moved from the shift lever ( R 230 ) to the center console exactly in front of the Eco button at the R 231. At that time I had meant that in darkness it was very easy to confuse. I had to drive in the mirrors today in a “stressy situation ” and at the same time operate the Eco button ( to prevent the engine from running out and starting again). It happened what had to happen;…. ic h rolled still and accidentally pushed the “P” button. You might think that it was crashing hard in the gearbox. However, since there were neither gear parts nor Oellachen on the ground afterwards, nothing seems to have happened. It’s already the third time that I’m hiding myself. It wonders if this nonsense was really necessary. I regularly drive our CLK and the R 230 of a friend (so the same vehicle that I had earlier) but some things were better with the old than with the Ne uen. As I said….. I didn’t even roll at pace anymore. The devil knows what would happen if I had been on the road even faster. I don’t recommend this for imitation. So until soon and best greetings

  • HELP : My SL / 2002 Rodeo plays in the stand and also during the ride

    A hello to all MotorTalker and request for help : I try to describe my problem as well as possible , since a repeated reading of the error memory shows no defect : My SL 500 / EZ 02 -2002 / approx.142000KM occasionally swings up in the stand at the front axle left + right and then pops down literally within seconds again … That makes it times after 5 KM ride , then everything is OK again for 100 KM , then again minutes high – down : Almost as with Rodeoreiten…. With longer time in the stand when the garage door opener was learned to a new gate, it also happened. (The fitter got off credeble and talked about the miracle car…) The car was now some time in Wittenberge at the company exclusive-automobile for repair: unfortunately without success…: The ABC valve units, the ABC hydraulic pump, as well as a leaking spring leg in front left and the system flushed…. After these repairs the car… picked up ; 90 km highway direction home everything OK ; then standing in the traffic jam the same problem again :He drives within seconds the chassis first right , then left up and then pops down to the lowest stand … The car returned , connected to the star tester : NO RECOVERY … !!! Manually the chassis can be moved over the center console perfectly up & down … Above mentioned company is now also quite at a loss , refers me now to MB : That can nd be the control unit, which can only exchange and program MB or maybe the motion sensors. Since I have the desire to experiment, I ask the experts here for advice…., thank you in advance & Gruss easylife

    Moin! My brake blocks at the front I think are due! I secured myself months ago times a 6 piston system (I think there are 6 pistons ?!) from a sls AMG. Can you easily install something like this ?! I don’t want to be killed by the costs, because it is actually completely unnecessary.

  • MOTOR SL350 R230 vs. R231

    Hello, I have been thinking about putting a Sl in my garage for a long time instead of a BMW 6er. I want to cruize 90% with the car rather than flip around the corners. I drove the SL350 with 315 hp before a few Montaen times, and the engine seems not to be sooooo suitable for it. The car has good power, but only if you turn the engine properly. But that’s not my driving style. The E400 Cabrio goes to the point quite differently. The engine would also fit well with the SL. I think the Sl500 is a bit too oversized for me, because the running costs seem a bit too heavy. I would like to comment on the R231 SL350 engine. Is the engine slightly weak on the chest even in the lower speed range like the R230 ?? Is the engine in the R231 actually a slightly modified R230 engine? Finally I would have a question about the Young Stars warranty. If I Buying a car, e.g. 1 year old with young stars warranty, do I have 2 years warranty or 3 years from purchase?   • Steering wheel change to AMG with paddle (shift paddle)

    Hello I bought and replaced an SL 500 R230 Built 09/2004 with 7G transmission and me an AMG steering wheel with shift paddles. My old steering wheel was heated.It went a cable from the dashboard to the steering wheel behind the airbag where a small box sits. From the box run the cables into the steering wheelheitzung … that was the old stand. Now I mounted the AMG steering wheel and had to notice that the cables from the shift paddles do not fit into the small box, so I researched.. the d I could now weave it from an accident SL 55 and would like to build it up next week. my question does that work at all? Is the supply line to the box also for the seesaws to use so a bus cable or just a power supply? Did anyone ever try this? would be great if someone could help me further

  • SL300 / 129 – New fabric roof

    Our SL 300 from 11/1992 with only approx. 84.000 km has a perfectly working fabric roof, which is also good with regard to the fabric – in which however the rear two side small Kunsstoffdisks and also the Kunsstoffrückscheibe at the kink place has small cracks. With well adhered black and transparent Tesa I closed the cracks, which also the superficial optics does not completely break down. However, this should not remain a permanent solution. a question: Does anyone have experience with a new fabric roof for this year of construction ? Exchange only the rear damaged part or the whole roof ? Cost ? Have made with DB or elsewhere ? U.a.m. I am grateful for any hint.

  • Refueling: Only with a pump on the right, or sometimes on the left?

    Hello together, many people put your vehicle when refueling always so that the pump is at the same side as the tank cover (with German cars as well as the SL this is usually right, with Japanese m.W. mostly left).     Hello! Have a SL 320 R 6 BJ 96 with not even 47500 km. Now I had to wait a few days with the car with running engine 8 minutes before the gas station.     I use my SL55 (July 2002) only with Keyless-Go. After some electronic-related workshop stays I now have the following problem: If I park and lock the car and come back within 4 hours, then I can open the door normally, sit in it, and start the engine with the first push on the start button. No problem. If I come back after more than 4 hours, then I can also open the door normally, but at the first push on the star The key symbol comes in the display and the display “keys not recognized”. Only when I press the start button a second time, the engine starts.
