    I have been offered a hall in which I can place the SLs / winter over. Now the is dry but dusty. Are there any recommendations, which stowage cover you should use? There is something in plastic, but what can lead to rust if it is slightly damp, then which of fabric but when it drips it is not the ideal one. Any tips? Greeting

  • SL 55 AMG or SL 500

    My parents want to buy a new car and it should definitely be an SL. So now to my question they should buy the SL 500 or the SL 55 AMG. Me and my father are for the AMG, because we both are very interested in sporty and fast cars and you can’t resist the sound but my mother wants it a bit “more comfortable”. I still have to say that the car is usually only driven on weekends because my parents actually drive a lot of work only I leave it. And sometimes during the week he is in the garage.   • SLK R170 200 rear wheel runs repaired

    After I managed to bring my SLK (R170) 200 compressor through the TÜV from 2002 to 2024, I got on the rust-infested wheel runs. I was surprised that solid metal appeared when sanding off instead of more or less large holes. I only looked a lot worse, which is why I had already bought wheel treads for welding in. I don’t need them now. Before I then split the sanded parts and then to the paintrs. to give my trust Uwe + Matthias, I would like to know if anyone can give a special recommendation for a rust protection primer. I would use Fertan rust primer. The paintrs say it doesn’t matter what you take, the rust comes again and again anyway… Or is there a remedy…?

    Moin, after my standard tyres the profile slowly gets worse I would like to get a set of new tyres. Currently I have M+S tyres on it, G500 BJ 2015, special model “Edition 35” size 265/60 R18 110H my Mercedes dealer proposes me Conti 4×4 winter contact of the same size. is planned for the next years also a winter Sweden tour, for the summer I would prefer to get tyres with more profile e.g. AT on an extra set of rims. My questions: 1) Has e iner already experience with the tire? 2) the dealer says that I would be bound to the size, since it is explicitly entered in my papers, other sizes (e.g. 16′ would not be possible due to exhaust gas values..? 3) he sells only tires with the snowflake+mountain symbol… to all year round tires he proposes Pirelli… in the search function some swear on winter tires, others are satisfied with MS tires…

  • My G, on the way to H approval

    Beautiful good day to the community, I have been a silent observer in the community for some time and since the beginning of this week proud owner of a 250 GD. Here are some pictures of my new baby. The goal for the next few months is to eliminate the so far manageable defects one after the other and then to give him a nice H at the end of the label. Therefore, be sure to have the one or other question to the community over the next few months & happy 1st question is probably the most unpleasant question: The G is first in my underground garage, until it is then taken apart in a man’s sky. As soon as it is finished, it comes back into my underground garage. I measured the driveway of the underground garage before, of course, to check if the G fits in at all. However, the G has a retrofitted roof rack, which was of course not planned by me, so I am missing current l almost 2-3 cm to get into my underground car park. Currently I have grobstollen tires on the G. –> 225/75 R16 I would like to switch to normal road tires anyway, so the question arises if I could win with another road tire in about 5cm.   • R 107 / 280SL Central locking causes problems

    Hi, Fach-(wo-)men! Does the low-pressure ZV with the R107 have a kind of (under-)pressure memory that can be leaked? Is only a guess, I’m not a screwdriver… So, the problem is this: If the car is driven, there is no problem with the central lock. If the car is only one or two days unused, then the ZV is “dead”.
