Hello guys, I need some advice, advice or the vulture knows something helpful….:-( For some time now I’ve been seeing a strange noise on my SL R230. It just sounds partially loaded right now, which means if I’m a little bit more than lightly accelerating the vehicle. I can only perceive it when I’m driving along a wall that’s close enough to me. The sound sounds like somehow a chain is racing or Hydro’s clatters would be. But when I open the hood, I don’t really see the noise. I strongly assume that it is due to the exhaust system. Can anyone tell me if he had something like that before and got under control? I think that this noise has been present since my sports exhaust system. Twice I was there because of this problem, every time it was taken off again (it seemed to me as if it was gone – after a short time there again) Now one of the original cracks on the flange is torn and after for a long time it also seemed to me as if the noise was gone. It is totally annoying to know that there is something like that. I wonder what it sounds like for outside the vehicle. Does someone happen to have advice ? I would be very grateful for any useful tip

Electric consumers switched off
Moin moin, I drive a Mercedes SL R230 (BJ 2003) with which I have a problem since last summer. I charge the rear consumer battery (renewed last summer) permanently in winter with a CTEK MXS 5.0. So I got on today after the charger hanged the last 3-4 months on the battery and received the message “electric consumer switched off”. I had this message also last year already several times therefore the car comes now every time it comes into the garage comes to the charger that did not help. I was already in the workshop and had the battery measured through the battery is completely okay. I then found a trick and that is when I turn on the car and see the message I just turn off the ignition then turn on the ignition again and press directly the lever to open the top. The top can then be opened in 90% of cases sometimes it takes 2-3 attempts. If the top is open then I can a so I exclude the battery as a problem source because this also permanently depends on the charger I clamp it off and get the message. I get the message even with connected charger ! The opening of the doors via Keyless-Go works without any problems. So it seems as if the battery has enough voltage and the “car” detects simply too little. Where can the error source lie ? I have read once you can how does it work? I would like to check the voltage because I don’t have a multimeter to hand right now.

Sub-Forum
Hello guys, I would like to (again) encourage the SL Forum here according to the series R231, R230, R129+R107 to be divided into 3 subforums. This is also the case with the A, C, E, S models and makes m.M. after also here sense. Every now and then I read R230 posts but actually only R231 topics interest me – for sure it goes the same way with others according to their cars. For the (a few) cross-system topics there is then still the top level (SL). to sensitize them to the topic again. Opinions? Greetings Uwe

SL 500 or SLK 55 AMG
Hello dear forummates, I would like to get a new fun mobile….After I drove the SL 500 and the SLK 55 AMG to the test, I am still not conclusive, which is the better or the more fun-making….. What about the engine??? Suction cup vs Biturbo……I had the feeling that the suction cup has a better pull and also a more linear force development. Is that really so? More PS has the SL ….Then I think it is “beautiful” and more sporty, with smaller wheelbase to rob the curves……The SL is overall softer….I just can’t decide……Prices are both the same…..45-50 k you have to spend on a well-kept model…….Who can give me help with the decision. Greetings of the Nubi

R230 2005 ABC suspension no longer sinks
Hello SL friends, have brought my SL 500, BJ2005, 207,000km in a free workshop to change the brake discs and linings in front. The workshop puts it up. Drives onto the stage. Switches the windows and coverings. Everything is normal. Stage down. The chassis no longer sinks. The pump/pressure tank is now 1 1/2 years in it. Newly bought and installed at MB. Does anyone have an idea? Until yesterday the Fzg has driven perfectly. No problems. Who pays the additional expenses for the Suc When someone has an idea. Please report. Thank you SL sneezeser

SL R129. Best car without vulnerabilities ?
Hello everyone. I’m new to Motor-Talk and would like to post here as well. I’m looking for a summer car. I’d like to know the SL of the R129 series. A familiar thought that was probably the best car what you could buy. No weak points. I don’t really like to believe that now Would you like to buy one of the last built ( BJ 1999-2001 ). I don’t know which one from the machine. What can you recommend ? 320 ? or rather V8 ? What are well-known Vulnerabilities of this SL ? Watch out for what to buy / test drive ? Greeting

Fuel consumption SL 55 AMG
Hello together, what would interest me once. What does your AI show for a fuel consumption of 55 AMG with 500 or 517 hp in the consumption indicator “Ab Reset” (so not the last 20km down the mountain :-))? At: – average consumption – average speed over how many kilometers maggi001

Roof module built-in–quiet
Yesterday I installed the X-AIO roof module, had a problem with the mass, otherwise everything went Easy. I find the 200 Euron worth. Has already what if the roof goes up and down from the distance, then you can also lower both windows with the FB,open with the inside switch is also cool, short pull or push and you can let go and the roof opens or closes completely. The with the 50 km/h I tested, no problems at the speed, better it is certainly a little long To drive more to close or open, you don’t have to excite it. Lowering of an ABC suspension
Hello everyone. I have a question, of which I think there are certainly different people here in the forum who can answer it. How can you lower an ABC chassis without necessarily buying an additional control module for a lot of money? I thought so in real sensors or poles or so (to modify this). Workshop with a lot of skill and understanding I have at hand – just wanted to ask here before to not unnecessarily drag the whole (the work) into the length and we may not answer the wrong part first and try. Thanks already in advance. Oh and still what – who can not post anything on my question, it should let – so no answers like – why do you want to lower is shit etc. Please only posts, who can answer my question. Thank you!!! I believe that you have to write this right here otherwise trash me here with your advices etc. only too! P.S. Who does not want to post it – then gladly by PN
