  • SL 55 AMG added

Hello, after selling my SL 500 (very satisfied), I bought an SL 55 AMG (8/2002 78,000 km panorama, keyless, seating climate, multi-conture, RDK, Lingua, Distronic Bose…) and am fascinated by the differences in performance. I didn’t think that there could be any such an increase in strength. Maybe someone from 2002 would have a operating manual in .pdf? Another question I would like to ask: according to data card Leather Exclusive Anthracite 581A – is the leather Nappa – on the presilist ste no number only: leather Exclusive Nappa has taken care of itself – found it on the Re.: extra charge of leather exclusive Nappa 3.000,00 + VAT. Beautiful Advent weekend from Austria. LG Henry

  • R129 Alternative to Bose Amplifier

Hello, the R129 MOPF with original BOSE sound system has an amplifier in the storage compartment behind the driver’s seat. This BOSE amplifier has 5 channels (VL, VR, HL, HR and Sub). In the R129 this BOSE amplifier uses 2 channels (VL and VR) on other Mercedes models on the input side of the BOSE amplifier uses 4 channels (VL, VR, HR and HL). I love to use speakers from Visaton with an impedance of 4 ohms. But if I’m looking for an amplifier with 5 channels (VL, VR, HL, HR and Sub), then all have 5 channels on the input side. Which amplifier can I use to control 5 channels output with 4 Ohm impedance from 4 channels? Thanks and greeting P.S. A few more photos to my other thread (R129 retrofit BOSE harness) will follow…

  • Engine damage

Here is a new, “stolzer?!” owner of a used R class! After I noticed oil stains in the garage, the DB workshop should check where the oil loss comes from. After a complex search it was set that the turbocharger (if I understood it correctly) was no longer equipped with its 3 screws (2 cannot be found, 1. Aborted; see picture) and was only kept in place by the loads. As a result the diselfuel (see picture) flowed down the engine block and d led to the oil stains. But what was worse was that the wheel from the turbocharger due to its self-vibration in the cylinder head has become metal abrasion (see picture) The DB workshop rightly says the metal abrasion is now well distributed in the engine compartment and will sooner or later lead to an engine damage; what I can imagine well. AT-Motor 14.000€ !!!!!! The engine is a 320 CDI built year 6/2006 with 146 tkm mileage DB-Checkheft. Please for help/ideas if the problem is known. st / Kulanz by DB is possible; etc. Thanks already for answers

  • Some questions about the R (350/500)

Servus with each other! I will probably have to get a new used car in the near future. I put a lot of value on the long-distance comfort, because I have to travel long motorway routes due to my service (about 20,000-30,000km per year depending on the location). Furthermore, I need space, lots of space, and in view of my personal wish- family planning, this would be the right space for a R class. I have already looked at the GL, but here fails. My questions: – Is it possible to upgrade the R 500 L with 388hp to LPG or LPG or LPG? – Can the third row of seats be lowered as elegantly as with GL, so that a flat loading area is available? – Did you have any problems with parking spaces, especially underground garage entrances? – Can you retrofit a rear camera? If so, what would that cost about? – I read here in the forum that it is supposed to rattle like in the R. Well, wi r have a vaneo in the family and there it is really terrible… I feel less like it, especially on long sticks. – What should you pay special attention to when buying used goods at the R? – Can you give me a clue about maintenance (inspection, brakes,…)? Thank you for your answers! Greetings, Tobias

  • R-Class – Problem: Automatic tailgate

Hello, I’ve been a proud owner of a R 320 CDi in full equipment for 6 weeks. I’ve had a problem with my automatic tailgate for 2 weeks. The trunk only closes automatically if I leave a door open… When doors are closed, the trunk doesn’t close properly. Do you have that too? Best regards Stephan

  • fine squeaking door noises

hello, have recently a R-350 L. since I am a changer from an E-270 cdi I enjoy of course the quiet in the vehicle. but: from the area of the doors come with light floor waves in city traffic always so light, fine squeaky noises. as soon as you drive the windows down only a few cm, the noise is completely gone. therefore I type on the sealing rubbers or window guides. have you made similar experiences and found a solution? maybe Talkum on the seal apply?! thank you for pointing out, because without this little pain-ache the sled is really fantastic in things comfort! 🙂 greetings hawaii

  • Winter tyres R-class

Hello. I’ll get back here after a long time. So it’s about the following: The cold season has caught up with us very quickly. That’s why I need a set of new winter tyres with new aluminium wheels now. Now my question: Absolutely original from Mercedes Benz or can you just buy from the big tyre dealer next door? I don’t know about technology, but how exactly does the tyre pressure control work? Is this somehow with the tyre Is that why you can only change the original tyres with MB incl. aluminium? Questions about questions..I know.. Maybe my concerns are also absolute nonsense Well anyway. Thank you for your answers and everyone a nice Christmas wishes Christian, who is still very happy with his R-Class.

  • !!!ATTENTION!!!__Now the thieves are after your 126!

Report in auto mobil ==>TV – broadcast on VOX, from Sunday, 17.08.2008, 16:45 UHR: New trend in car theft. ALTAUTOS!!! …because those are easy to steal due to the missing immobilizer. With the Polish key open the door and turn the ignition lock. And away eater. That on the Polish border, as on the Luxembourger, no one stands, is fact. So your beloved W126 is gone forever!!! Conclusion: Starter, gasoline pump and ignition control device…everywhere interrupt. Best all three, mi This is not what our fellow citizens from the new European countries expect. The car has to go fast. Of course, if they come with the towing car and simply charge the car… …then only a PAGER and a GPS – WANZE will help.

  • M104 Ignition distributor/distributor finger 300TE24

Hello together! I have already set this post “before” under W124 – but then when searching it found out that it is probably better kept here and maybe here more an answer can be expected. So I would like to apologize for the cross-posting! I have ignition problems (mechanical) with my 300-24, motor M104. Have ignition oscillations, very bad in slow idle and the wandering ignition spark always shoots me the cover disc (even the second) to the cylinder head or My question now: Is it really the case that there is no direct contact between the distributor’s cap and the distributor’s finger in this model? I don’t have a grinding carbon pin or anything else – it doesn’t look like one of them belongs in it either. In any case, the spark has to jump here from the input of the ignition coil in the distributor’s cap to the middle part of the distributor’s finger! Well, and apparently the spark is “mistaken” there. nn now and then 🙂 Is there a part missing or does it have its correctness that a “long spark” is generated at this point? Many thanks already for the help! Ciao 300TE24 aka Pico

  • Searching for an engine oil recommended by the star dock gate at the time

Hi guys, I’ve tried the search already…….but unfortunately I didn’t find anything suitable. I’m looking for a recommendation from Sterndocktor for a fully synthetic 5W30 or 5W40 engine oil for an M271. So far, my motor has included Mobil1 0W-40, but I want to reduce the light noise of the camshaft adjuster at warm start and try it with 5 oil. However, the oil must be released according to sheet 229.3 or 229.5. What do you think of Fuchs Titan Supersyn 5W-30? sche Motoröl is almost equal to Mobil 1 in quality? Sterndocktor had recommended some at that time and I am looking for them now. Thank you for relevant information
