  • Absorption problems

    Good morning I’m the ali driving a r230 500er For two days I’ve been lighting up abc with red light on uneven roads and going out again!??? The driving behavior is still neither lifting on nor off everything works as normal as usual. Once the vehicle also has a defensive drive up it went on and off after everything was back in order?? From what can the problem be animally happy if you would help me thank you in advance (ABC pump shock absorber front + rear new)

  • Been ripped off with parts

    Hello, I have to tell you my story, and I paid a lot of money for my stupidity. my SLK 200 was re-equipped in a free workshop (small business) with a wedge-belt pulley and pulleys. He had also found out that I needed a new hydraulic pump, the price for the parts would be 1150€ plus 150€ working time so together 130€. The mechanic said the parts are so expensive the servo pump costs 798€ and the set 280€. I was so stupid and had it done because I needed to drive the car to work. It left me no rest and a few days later he had himself an offer of the parts trading where the mechanic had ordered the parts. The price -30% discount was with everything together with 380€. I drove with the offer to the mechanic and confronted him. Then he only told me to send you a bill, I have to say he made it again without a bill because he said it will be much more expensive. Now he sent me a cobbled invoice, with many positions which he could not even give me?

  • Reporting “brake wear”

    Today, for the first time, the message “brake lining wear” came in the display. According to friendly people, the brake discs were already slightly lowered in the front in April, but still ok. That makes sense: first change after 40,000 km, now at 90,000 km that fits already. (Hints have held the brake discs 70,000 km). Now the question: does this message mean that (also) the brake discs are down, or does it really only mean the brake pads? These would be significantly cheaper to replace. Can it be that the pads are to be changed more often than the discs? I thought it was always exchanged. It also doesn’t stand there whether the front or the rear is the wear. In the most stupid case, I let everything change in the front and in truth only the pads are down at the rear… Either way or so: I never had this message before. Does anyone know that? Normally, the NL is changing rather early, so that it doesn’t come to the report at all.

  • G55K: Curious problem with the ZV (does not work with keys, otherwise already)

    Good day together I have a curious problem with my 2005 G55K. Last week as usual in the underground car park, button pressed at the key for unlocking… Alarm system starts…? At some point and somehow I got the alarm system to silence. Since then the opening and closing of the key does not work any more! Both keys try, batteries replaces…Nada. When I go off, the vehicle closes all doors as usual. When I press the button for the ZV on the dashboard it also works as on the first day. Did any of you ever have the problem before? There has to be a receiver for the signal, right? Where does it sit? I thought to ask you – before it goes to the friendly. Best thanks and greetings from Switzerland Benny

  • G-Class purchase advice – where to find?

    Hello and good evening, I am looking for a purchase advice for G-classes of the 80s/90s (460 resp. 461/463). In the S-Class Club there is a nice illustrated PDF, which clearly explains all neuralgic points. Is there such a thing for the G too? On the G-Club side I found nothing, or is there only in the member area? I know, here there are many threads to it. But there are always here and there the information is scattered and I thought maybe it would be in compressed form. I just have such a (wire?) idea and would like to use the time over the holidays to feast. Many greetings, Fabian

  • Wagon remains at 20km/h

    Dear friends, it happens regularly at the start. When I start the car and start with a cold engine, the car stays at 20km/h while the speed at the pressure of the gas pedal rises from about 1500 to 2100 rpm at the same speed. After about 5-8 seconds the spook is over, the car switches back and then runs normally. Feels a little like during the emergency run. The problem is only just after the cold start. The engine lamp does not work. Also no errors are saved. Does anyone have an idea?

  • Shock absorber for SL R230

    Hello, my workshop thinks my front shock absorbers for my SL 500 (R230) are over. He also thinks that they would cost 800 + VAT per piece, so together 1,600 euros plus VAT. Now I have tried to get new ones over the Internet, but amazingly nobody, really nobody can deliver them. Can you help me? Do I enter wrong? Do you have a tip? Best regards TOM

    Who of you/us is seriously concerned with ordering the new SL? Would I be interested in 🙂 Someone already “seriously” informed? Good discounts negotiated? Asked for delivery times? Configuration “submitted” to the friendly? “registered” for a test drive? I’m very excited about first “experiences/reports”.

  • Callback G500 W463a fuel transport module. Kafka lives!!!

    There is a callback campaign for the G (at least the 500) because of a possibly defective fuel transport module. You should not drive any more. I tried to get an appointment with the dealer today, there they told me that the tank can only be filled up to 20%. I still have 60% petrol in it. Answer: A repair is not possible. I should drive the empty. That is kafkaesk: How, please, should I get the tank empty, if Mercedes writes, one has to “immediately” in the workshop???? Should I now wait for the evaporation of the gasoline??? Did Mercedes write, but received no answer. How do you do that? Flaking off the gasoline? Suck out the hose? Put away in the Frankfurt station district? Greeting from the wsp

  • Assyst Problems

    Hi @ all.. First of all: I found nothing about THIS problem while searching 🙁 (in the complete Mercedes Forum) So: a friend of mine drives a C-Class. Car now has to go to the B Check, according to Assyst. But the friend says that the computer only jumped about 200 km from A to B!!! CAN YOU BE THAT? When error reading there were no findings at DC. Say, everything should be OK… MfG and many thanks for your answers Kai
