Hello dear forum, on the one hand, on the other hand, I am happy to have a thoughtful heart: friends of us want to sell their SL 55 AMG. It should be built in 1993 … – it has 190,000 km – is inside i.e. (not incredibly well maintained) – runs 1A – is a convertible – and is just fun … it’s not a question, it’s a super car (apart from the enormous costs – “think about the heart” and I also think, since it had only one previous owner so far, I can nic from this page hts bad expect .. No talk of “door-turning” at the car dealer around the corner … So now my question .. What do you advise me to do? Buy or leave to stay … What about the year of construction, what about the 55 AMG What about the quality of the engine etc. And finally, how much should I offer if I wanted to buy it? Greetz!

Questions about the SL year 92-
Hello, I just searched the forum for the topic and found nothing. Hope I didn’t miss anything and don’t bother with a standard question accordingly. 🙂 After studying and first job I would like to fulfill a small dream. The timeless SL for me should be it. I am fixed with the budget at 10,000 – 13,000 EURO at the moment. I don’t really care about the engine… frevel?! 🙂 Rather, I am looking for a model that will give me pleasure and little trouble. financial framework I also find a number of neat SL, but have no idea what additional costs are involved… Insurance, taxes and upcoming repairs. I’m not a car builder and not very savvy accordingly. I would be happy if I could get some advice and/or purchase experiences so that I can take a slightly more oriented approach to the matter. Be happy about any feedback! Thank you and Best regards, Andre.

R129 “Opa wood”?
Hello, after a long disappointing search, (after a C124) after a nice test drive, I would like to buy a R129 with the thought to befriend. Now I am not in a hurry and still in the phase everything there is in the segment up to 25ts€ to probe. 320er from model 1999 What I notice is the fact that the car with these wooden equipments is 98% which my guessed (taste thing) does not fit at all to a dark leather condition. it the “almost” black wood I like best…are only very hard to find. My question: What would a subsequent conversion with another wood equipment cost? ev there are experiences of this kind. Thank you and greeting

I’m too big for SLK !!!
Hello SLK friends, drive another family carriage, which I no longer need from now on, and wanted to now after several years of combo ride something sporty to afford me. I like the old SLK long and price also me for affordable. So what can hold me back now, off to the Benz dealer. There he stood, a 230 g silver with leather for 13Mille. Yes, I like, salesman hooligans, the part opened up and almost hit me, that’s just what me Mini men. No matter what I’ve done, sit down completely and to the back, feet no problem I could have a rest to the front but what do I do with the head I can’t always drive open, I hit no matter what the sitting position is and that at 185 cm. The seller only meant I had a long upper body. That’s a joke or, I knew one with 197cm and also with SLK. Now the question to you, there are differences in the seats, are by chance the with seat heating higher or with leather. Has someone experience with such a thing. That can’t be, can it? Ask for help before I get a TT. Greetings Zel

SL R129 Bj 94-96-ja/no? Which one?Where?
Hi people, have come to the taste of a convertible via acquaintances. Have now shot me after some time of preliminary considerations on a 129er. I am at the moment still in an opinion-building process and grateful for every good advice “everything around the 129er “, what must I pay attention to?? “Do not want to buy a savings box”!! – Have a limited budget – Would the vehicle like to use as a fun vehicle in the season – nice weather activities/tours, moderate driving style – Which model/series, Year of construction? until? Which by no means and why not or why? – I had thought of a year of construction 1994-1996, 320er? Or rather someone else? Buy up to how many original Km? – ZKD would not be susceptible from Bj 93 anymore? – Shouldn’t be snarled or tinkered. – What do I have to pay attention to during winter moth/in spring? – Where can I still look besides Mobile de., Autoscout, örtl. Tageszeitung??? …… and what else do you think!!!! Am really good for everyone Thank you, Greetings Jürgen

Electrical problem – Cannot start engine
Hello, my SL 600 V12 is 14 years old. I only ride a little bit in the summer. That’s why it only ran 12,000 km and is visually and technically there like factory new, also the whole engine. The only problem is because of the long service life over winter (6 months) the two batteries, which I have to charge again and again and have also renewed twice. Recently I charged both again, then removed the chargers and during the voltage test with a Mu ltimeters had both batteries full charge. Problem I can not start the engine. If I turn the ignition key on start, there is only a quiet buzz in the engine compartment and the starter does not move. But on the engine incl. starter everything is in best order and I am sure that the starter only gets no power. With digital technology I unfortunately have problems. Does anyone have an idea? Friendly greetings Jink

Equipment questions about the SL R230
Good day SL driver, I’ve been watching various SL of the R230 series for a long time. Now I’ve noticed a few differences, to which I’d like to know what it’s all about. This vehicle here: http://ww3.autoscout24.de/classified/270024853?asrc=st的as&testvariant=list3tiers&tierlayer=st has no chromed tailpipes, four trims in the grill and a chassis that seems too high or too low at the back. In contrast to this SL:http://w3.autoscout24.de/classified/269990152?a Here the tailpipes are nicely chromed, a decorative strip in the grill is less, the chassis looks more evenly and on the rear cover is still such a small part. I don’t mean the spoiler, which is not on the first vehicle. My questions: -are the chromed tailpipes special equipment and has this only the 380kW machine? -Do the different grills have anything to do with the years of construction? -is the ABC chassis front and back – what is this for an additional module on the rear cover of the second SL? -in the centre console around the exterior mirror adjustment are up to five functions, which are not fully occupied with both vehicles. Which functions are these?

SL600 – Engine control light – Error code first 6 cylinders do not run “round”
Hello, with my SL the MKL has been shining for some time. In addition, the engine stops and does not run round. I had the error code read out at my workshop. As a result, the first 6 cylinders do not run round. He suspects that they are the spark plugs. Question: 1) Did one of you also have this and can possibly confirm that this could be the case. 2) Can one switch to the other 6 cylinders if necessary? 3) If one is replaced, that would be IMHO 24 candles? Is that something that you yourself mac How does the exchange work and would you have to register at the end something on the control unit or the like? Thank you and have a nice weekend.

Mercedes SL500 (R230) AMG exhaust system and MSD
Hello friends, I am well aware that there has been extensive discussion here in the forum, but I did not come to a clear conclusion for me, as there are different entries available. Would like to install the AMG exhaust system in Annex 1 at an SL500 (R230) year 2002. 1) This is the human 55 AMG exhaust rod or am I wrong? 2) Does someone happen to have a sound file, since I could not find anything suitable in the well-known forums. 3) Does the Fa exist? the possibility to replace the MSD with 2 V2A raw, in order to give the sound a little more spice? If yes, where are the MSD exactly, is this directly the two parts after the rear silencer or the part further forward?? 4) Does anyone have experience with FOX rear silencers??? The 65 AMG system now seems to be a rarity, the parts are not related anywhere. Thanks and greetings.

CTEK MSX 5.0 – Reconditioning program / Desulphation for connected batteries
Hello! I got a ctek msx 5.0 and would like to refresh my batteries with the reconditioning program / desulphation again and keep them in fire by regular use. In the operating instructions for the SL, of course, in order to suffocate any claims from possible damage already in the bud that the batteries are to be removed during charging. I would like to do without the removal of the batteries, as this would always be associated with effort (expansion of the battery) and learning ECUs) and because it has been reported several times that after disconnecting and again clamping the batteries various error messages have occurred, which have made a visit to a service station, sometimes even with repair effort, necessary. After the reconditioning program / desulphation passes the pulsating voltage through the ctek up to 15,8V, I have the fear that control units might be offended. Unfortunately, I did not find any clear statement about the reconditioning program for connected batteries in the R230. Therefore, my specific question here: Did any of you R230 owners regularly use the ctek in the reconditioning program / desulphation for batteries connected to the on-board network and can give warning, or just report on negative effects? Was the ctek directly connected to the battery poles, both the starter battery and the consumer battery, Lossen? My vehicle is an R230, SL350 from 2003. Thank you for the answers! MfG pial345
