Hello dear forum participants, I am happy to write my first post today. Bzw. to ask something. On Saturday I pick up my dream car at MB in Hamburg. It is one: SLK 320, Built 10/02, Model 03, with 24,000km from 1st hand absolutely flawless condition, no scratch, no stone impact, no accident, nothing repainted or repaired designo orange, designo leather two-tone automatic Audio 30 APS sound system xenon light alarm system AMG rims 17 inches with almost n euen tires climate with one year MB Europe guarantee I bought the car for 26,000 euros. Now my question was this a bargain ? Of course you should ask such questions before signing under the purchase contract but I fell in love with the car “totally” and then my husband (who has been an enthusiastic motor talk fan for a few months) could not stop me. It is my first convertible, what do I have to pay special attention to this car ? Thank you for your answers G abi2000

Oldie SL
hello colleagues, I have the idea of getting myself a sl. bj so between 70-80. I intend to spend between 10,000 and 15,000 euros. my points: 1. general: I get something neat for this money (I hope, yes). my expectation is a technically good condition and can accept slight defects (scratcher, worn-out seats, etc.) 2. I am not a super screwdriver and need something reliable. but should not be an everyday car, only for the weekend 3. what can you do about it? motor recommend: 280er, 350er, 450er, 500er? i mean the bigger, the better ;-)), however, I would like to know which motor is “recommended” (reliability, maintenance, spare parts, consumption [due to relevance], etc.) 4. automatic or manual transmission (preferably would be automatic)? 5. how much km would be recommended at the most? 6. what does the situation regarding pagode look like??? I know, these are many points at once, but I would like to hear some expert opinions about it. Thank you in advance! Greetings, harley13

Another SL R129
I’m thinking hard if I don’t get a R129 again. Had a 300SL-24 year from January 2001 to September 2005 and was absolutely satisfied with the car. Because of more space (hobby) I bought a CLK320 year 2000. Is really a great thing but it’s not a SL. Now I’m thinking if I should not get another SL in the spring. Now I think about a 320 or maybe even a 500er someone had already both vehicles. and can say the difference in maintenance is really so big. I really don’t know at the moment how and what I should do would be grateful for a few helpful tips.

Slide and relax in the SL with “8.8 liters of fire water”.
Fuel consumption SL 350 R230, glide and relax with “8.8 liters of fire water”. Hello SL fans, the fuel consumptions that are sometimes discussed here, well, you can see how stressful one or the other is on the road. If I sit in my SL, then I want to switch off from the stress, then I want to relax in the car. To be for me, or to glide along with my wife. If I drive openly, I just swim through land, and on such a trip as, start Sunday mornings the Siegerland, Westerwald, Rheintal or Moselstraßen, eat something in between and go home comfortably. On such a tour I need e.g. “only 8.8 liters of fire water”. That’s the reason why I chose an SL 350 R230. The performance is more than sufficient for me. By the way, I have got the SL 55 on the license plate. It was a coincidence that I got the number. If I wanted to spread stress in traffic, then I would say one for the same coal, h otherwise I am on the road with a Toyota Landcruiser on weekdays and in Schuddelwetter. There it is always a nice change in the leisure time with the SL. It greets you all xita55

Now let’s finally pick up my SLK!
Slowly I get really envious. Everywhere in the Mercedes forum I have to read that someone has picked up his car again. Not that I’m not happy for the pick-up, but if it’s only about 4-6 weeks as with me (built in the 3rd decade of July, delivery in early August) I’m getting a bit impatient. Especially in the nice weather right now! Here’s my car (pictures are available on the day of collection!): VEHICLE: Model : SLK 200 Compressor Painting : Palladiumsilver P Oiling : Leather Upholstery colour: Alpakagrey SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: 386 Comfort Telephony 403 AIRSCARF (additional heating in the headrest) incl. wind bulkhead made of fabric FA floor mats (carpet) received as accessory. 580 Air conditioning THERMATICK 518 Media Interface 477 Tire pressure loss warning 875 windscreen washing system heated 345 windscreen wiper with rain sensor 873 seat heating front seats 726 pre-fitting carrier system 614 bi-xenon headlights m. cleaning system, dyn. light width regulation 213 direct steering 249 Interior/outside mirror autom. dimmable, exterior mirror left and right electr. foldable 876 interior light package R95 Light alloy wheels, 4x 5-double spoke design 220 Parktronic system (PTS) 486 sports suspension 260 absence type identification mark on rear cover 283 wind lock transparent 3-part 510 Radio Audio 20 CD m. integrated 6-part CD changer Coloured something else, how do you like it?

Winter tire SLK 171 or prefer a simple winter car ??
Hello friends, the next winter is at the door and so slowly I have to think about the “winter shoes” of our SLK ́s. How do you see the thing: Alu ́s with winter tires for tens of thousands or better a small winter car for small money?? Had so far only front-wheelers and with them it went through the winter great. Note: live in the top north of Westphalia, where snowfall will soon be in the lexicon. ( last year you just 5 white days)

SLK 200 K – per and counter
To all SLK 200 K – W 170 drivers or those who have an opinion about it! I find the car simply beautiful and it is a lot of fun. So my dream car, because as BJ 2001 also affordable for me. Now stands with a dealer near me this car. BJ 3/2001, so Nachmopf, scarz, red/black leather seats, switch, 70,000 km, 15,000 €. I would like to exchange my A-Class ( A 170 Diesel, BJ 8 / 2001, price approx. 6400 € ) against the SLK. But I drive about 30,000km per year. We ( 2 persons) n The cost of gas is about twice as high as that of my A-Class. I don’t think the other operating costs are soooo much. What would you do. Thank you for your opinion! Cioa Jörg

Can’t decide – SLK, MG or Z3?
Hall oils, although I bought a Mondeo only about 6 months ago, I think at the moment (could it be the weather?) about the purchase of a convertible. I already had a SLK 200 BJ 1999. At that time still without a compressor. Was nice, but somehow lacked some speed. Now I had also thought about whether an MG or a Z3 could be an alternative. The MG of the price very interesting, but just a little small. The problem of the fabric cover has the Z3 also, all However, the Z3 3 has a better processing, as far as I can judge. Now you read a lot of things, but somehow make me insecure. At the SLK the models 2001-2002 with approx. 70-90.000 km would be in question, because they are still OK. Must it necessarily be the 320er or the 200 compressor is enough? What about problems at that age. My old A4 Tdi only emptyed the cash register from 160,000. Can one roughly transfer that? What should I still pay attention to? Greetings
