Hello dear community! I’m new here, I ordered a SLK yesterday and wanted to ask for your opinion 🙂 If possible I could change something. So, it has become a 200 (the 350 would have been better, but that was unfortunately not in). I chose the following equipment: – 6 gear circuit (not wanted the 5-speed automatic) – color palladium silver – upholstery leather black – seat heating – sports package (incl. seat belts in red), wheels 18″ – Airscarf – Thermati k – Radio Audio CD 20 with LOGIC7 Sound System – Media Interface – Comfort Telephony – Interior / exterior mirror blinding, exterior mirror electric folding – Interior light package – Windscreen wiper with rain sensor – Bi-Xenon – Direct steering What do you think of it? A Navi would be nice, but if only the COMAND, and the extra charge is simply too high, so I continue using my Navigon. And there are other 200 (facelift) owners here .. I would be interested in how the car sub jektiv so driving.. performance, etc. .. did not make a test drive. Many greetings from Hamburg, Ben

Bad fuel?
Hello, I don’t know if you know this, but I’ve heard that you should avoid the gas station or the other one. What would interest me very much what about such rumors? I think to know that there are already small differences in petrol between so many gas stations.. but could for example an unknown gas stations cheap/discount petrol stations harm a car? Some others also drive from you abroad or? There is then also cheap fuel and the car still runs perfectly afterwards.. cheap is not equally bad or? What do you think about it? Is there something true about it? Or in the end the same everything? Of course I also think that you pay with large chains gas stations like Aral already alone because of the name and that the gas station does not have to be equally good because there are thousands of times. Greetings Mad

SLK 230 – Roof closes only reluctantly
Hello SLK-community, my “SLK 230 R170 facelift” has been on the hump for 9 years now, but has run only 89,000 km during this time. The external condition of the vehicle is actually extremely good. However, in recent times the roof can only be closed with difficulty. As soon as the switch is activated, the boot lid only lifts a minimal piece, the electric motor stops and the switch flashes. I have to repeat the switch’s operation about 10 times. l the boot lid rises again a small piece in order to have the electric motor suspended immediately. As soon as the boot lid is finally fully open, everything works as it should: the roof closes automatically and completely. Who can give me advice on what the problem could be and what can be done about it? Thank you already in advance! Greetings, HIPPODAMOS

SLK with too much charging current
Have a good day, I have a problem… Drive an MB SLK R170 230 compressor, unfortunately I drove someone on it through carelessness… I then put the vehicle back together in self-direction, but there is a problem which is foreign to me… My generator/lima produces about 21 V, but on the battery nothing arrives… As soon as I pull off the negative pole of the battery, the car also goes off… I then switched the controller on suspicion, without result… Then the lightmas chine itself and still 21 V… All electrical consumers outside as well as inside function impeccable, even no fault in the memory… Can anyone help me there? lg Robert

HUPE DOESN’T THROUGH MORE
Hello boeser Dieter, Hi @ Bin on Saturday time again with the SLK 300km on the highway. On the return drive I had to chase a camper from the left lane and am full on the horn. The started also but after 10 seconds was finished although the thumb was full. Since then it is not going any more. Safes in the box are all good. Can the horn be broken after ten years ? With hardly 10 rain drives, never snow and salt ? Have I never had, with unsealable cars in 37 year Thank you for your answers. Greetings Walter PS Haette I almost forgot, w 170 slk 200 without compressor. Year of construction 10/99 Model 2000

Help, my SLK is leaking…
Servus dear SLK fans, have been driving a SLK 200 BJ 1997 since spring 2011. Sometimes everything is without complaint – until the rainy days have come to us!! Since then it has been popping into the vehicle with the smallest shower. To describe exactly the rainwater runs from the top right, exactly where they are the small water drain channel (where windshield and roof come together, height passenger windows). Had this demonstrated in order to exchange any seal, but they thought that the seals were obviously in order and that the roof had to be adjusted/adjusted. Cost point: too expensive!!! Therefore my request, whether someone from the room Hamm/Dortmund/Unna/Soest can take care of this matter??? Or is there one possible to do this yourself??? -P.S. can also gladly participate. Please for feedback until autumn arrives. In this sense….

But neithers autotest needs to know that it has been made to be a car with rearseats when it was first put to traffic… and in what country! Looks to me like its impossible?! ? I need to know where my car was sold and in what country is was taken in traffic for first time.

Brake caliper fixed
Hello together. I just picked up my G after two weeks because of control chain changes from the workshop. During the test drive it was found that a brake caliper is fixed in the front. This was recognized by the rusty brake disc inside. I noticed 2-3 weeks ago that he pulls something aside when braking. I pushed them however on the coarse tolled winter tires. Anyway. I would be pleased to hear your opinion: a.) The MB workshop thought one could easily continue The vehicle is well maintained. Shouldn’t the condition of the sealing cuffs have to be “visibly checked” during any inspection? The car was only recently during the (large) inspection. I actually have the regular maintenance carried out, so that it does not come to unplanned aius cases. The servo pump is only recently complete. Although I had reported to the workshop several times before that the steering support was suspended for a short time, no remedy could be provided. Of course, a lot of the pump then out exactly on the return trip from the holiday. Or is the whole mud ash located at the specialist competence of the workshop? I am already curious about your answer. Greetings Frank

Wants to buy old G.
Since I was a child, I really like the car. However, at the Bundeswehr I was “defeated” about the G and had to drive with the Iltis. Now I want to get an “old” G as a hobby car. Who has experience? How is the life expectancy of a 230 GE? Are the diesel more robust? Is a e.g. 25 years old G still to be used as a everyday car (second car)? Or does it already require a lot of care and love? This is why the diesel/petrol consumption difference should not be so important. Is the car maintenance-friendly? Can a free workshop (former Mercedes Meister) wait for such a car or do you need many special tools? The driving performance is completely irrelevant. I would also need a 240 GD. A 300 GD will certainly leave because of the tax burden. Thank you very much in advance.

homokinetic joint, front right, repair
Hello to the community, I have a W463, GD 300. The car has 348tkm and on the front right he lost the transmission oil, which came through the leaky shaft seal into the ball. I also have the typical clacking at full impact. I have now dismantled this and stand now full of reverence for some components which you have to replace. Certainly all seals and of course also the joint itself, the cuff was only in some parts in the ball. That was certainly for a long time. I’m sure I don’t have the best conditions and what you need and what you don’t need, I don’t know exactly anyway. However, the parts don’t look like gifts, I just want to buy those that are useful. I wouldn’t fix the joint on the passenger’s side at first, that’s neither leaking nor making noises. I’m grateful for any tips. Thank you!
