Hello community. Signed up here to get some advice. I’m 32 years old now and I’ve been driving a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S thanks to dual studies and very good price. Since I’m most likely promoted to a leading position at Daimler in a short time, I’m thinking about making my dream come true. My dream? The G55 AMG or new G63 AMG ! Sure, the price with far over 130,000.00€ is probably first scary, all rdings is my dream. Now my question. Is any of you driving a G55 or a G63? Can someone compare both cars constructively, objectively and out of his own experience? I drove the G55 only once and fell in love directly, but it’s not enough to really compare both. Kind greetings, Tim

Purchase advice for new G (G500)
Hello Together after I was almost sure that it would be a G500, after a few hours of forum reading I still have some doubts or questions and I am happy about feedback: 1. The numerous rust problems of which can be read most irritated. It seems that you can hardly do anything (except maintain, grow and if necessary fix on guarantee). Either way however annoying, because for me it is always necessary to do without my car and constantly to go to MB Is the G and MB particularly bad and how does a Range Rover compare? (Even if I actually want a G, the RR would still be the best alternative – otherwise I don’t think of anything). Think about leasing and not buying – then I can return it in case of an emergency? 2. One reads again and again quite clear criticism of the MOPF 2012, especially the non-switchable ABS I find also worrying. How is your experience there? I want the G already to be I would actually prefer a new one, but if necessary you could also look for a leasing back runner from 2011? 3. Some equipment questions: a) Is the sliding roof worth it? Does it cause problems? b) Do you see heating windshield? Do you see wires (like the Discovery)? 4. Is there a reasonable AT-maturation in 265/60 R18 – which also works halfway on the road in case of rain? Thank you. Max

Kaufberatung G 300 short with H approval
Hello G-meinde, I’m looking for a reliable off-road vehicle with H-approval (due to favorable maintenance). Now I’ve looked at a short 300 G, year 79 on the internet. Who can basically tell me something about the car. Is the power sufficient to pull a trailer with 1500 – 2000 kg in the terrain (e.g. when making wood) and that I can also “stop” in normal traffic? That I can’t drive a traffic light race with this one is clear to me, only I want to know if With this motorization I do not prevent the “traffic flow”. How is the reliability of this already 30 year old car? Rist susceptibility? How are the brakes also regarding trailer load? Spare parts supply? Repair costs Thank you for your help. LG. stillwithoutG

LED additional headlights on the W463
Hello, because the xenon light on the G is not really good, I would like to retrofit a few additional lights in LED technology, for example Hella Luminator X LED. So far so good. However, there are questions that I cannot answer without a doubt in the net. – Up to what reference number can I install additional lights? The standard number has a reference number of 20. If I understand the guideline correctly, I now have to add 2 x 20. 100 is the maximum reference number for a car after 2009 => i.e. 60 are still free, i.e. max. 2 x 30? But there are no LED additional headlights below 37,5 per lamp … very confusing – How and where did you attach your additional headlights? I would like to drill very reluctantly into the bumper. I think of a fastening behind the black “mark plate”. Or there are fixed points at work. For advice and suggestions I am very grateful. With best greeting TMD

Type number of the Comand in G350BT Bj. 2014
Good evening together, I am communicating with the Dutch company that runs the Qdis interface for the Comand system. Also, the Qdis interface, as reported by Lars in the other thread, can cause the smartphone screen to be mirrored on the monitor of the Comand system. It is perhaps cheaper than the two interface boxes of XCarlink. They now ask me about the option code of the Comand, which is installed in the G Bj 2014. They do not have the G (like so many others) in their n lists. I passed on XCarlink’s info that it is the NTG5 that is installed in the current C-Class. However, there must still be a code, possibly Comand 529 or Comand 531, which they want to know about me. I found nothing in the operating documents. Does anyone know what the exact type designation of the Comand is in the 2014 G? Servus, Jonny

How many times have the stars been torn from the hood?
My star has been torn down overnight! Luckily the hood is undamaged. I will drive to MB and invest about 18 €. On this car the first time, here in front of the door anyway (garages are unfortunately not available here). On my W116 I was torn off 25 years ago in the wash road one, but it was probably frozen. In 2005 I was broken up at my W124 (on the way) 2. At my W210 the star was loose (Murks from the previous owner), I had it changed. Dab A badge instead of a star on the hood is no substitute for me, if necessary I buy a new one every day… So 3 stolen stars in 25 years, that still works, right? What does your balance look like? lg Rüdiger:-)

Mercedes S-class as the first car?
Hello dear community, Since we, therefore my father, still have a s-class unregistered stocked equipped, I wanted to ask if such a car goes through as a beginner car? It is so year 2005, converted to gas(about 14l of it/100km) and has about 320ps. Is also well equipped and I like very well. Is this car for me to drive? Or rather an old gulf from the grandmother or something? Is still a bit gone, but you make your thoughts LG, miiit

Help!! rims closed but no more keys… what do ??
Hello guys, hope you can help me. Unfortunately, I know very little about cars in general and have bought a Mercedes W220 S320 whose rims unfortunately have a rim lock. I did not take into account this during the private purchase of course. So in the car it is not and is unfortunately not findable anymore. now the front two tires would have to be changed urgently, since one tire already has a crack and the other one is already porous and could burst… Only without the hatch This will be a bit expensive for the wheel lock, because otherwise it would have to be broken up just like the car man told me. I have to drive a distance of approx. 1000 km on Saturday and would like to do it this week. The wheels are unfortunately not original Mercedes rims. What other possibilities are there??? Hope it has been posted in the right subforum.

Which MB doesn’t rust? W221, W251, R230, W211?
Now that I have made my experiences with the S210 year 2001 and probably in 1-2 years at the latest will no longer be able to cope with the rust without investing thousands of EURO, I would like to look around for the next star. But from which model or model year is rust no longer a topic? I just hope it IS no longer a topic… What I like? Different. As an affordable combination there would be the E-tonne W211. As a luxury sled a S-Class W221? But also a Van of the R-Class could be interesting. Or as a fun car for dad with grown-up children an SL R230. Does one know what it looks like with the models especially with rust? Greetings from Königs Wusterhausen
