Hi, in the last few months I have been more and more interested in cars and think about which car I should buy first. My father said that I “can” drive only one Mercedes, because Mercedes has the biggest legroom and I am now already 1.91 tall and will probably still grow a “quick”. I want to buy a cheap car as possible, so I thought a C class with approx. 100,000 km and a bit of power (204hp is I find already a lot for a car n first car), but then I read that big people in a C class don’t get quite happy, because the head on the roof and behind the driver only has a piece of paper space. Then I looked around for an E class, but in my opinion the most beautiful version, which was built only from about mid-2009, there is unfortunately hardly any with my budget and my desire to buy 204hp. For fun I then pressed on the website on the S class offers, and look e there, the used S class is cheaper than the used C and E class. I like the design good for kneeling down and the performance corresponds exactly to what I imagined. However, I have two worries: 1. Is the S class very expensive in case of any repairs ? and 2. Is it too protzig as the first car ? Just to anticipate this already: I make the L17 driver license, that is I will have driven at 18 already > 3000km and then have already 2.5 years driver driver driver ng, so I don’t have to worry that I’m always scratching and bumping in. Also, I don’t want the S-Class because it’s a Benz or to impress people, I just want to take a nice limousine in which I can also take 3-4 friends. Insurance and car tax would pay me my parents until I make money myself. Please just answer the question if the S-Class is the first car to be too expensive in the repair and not come with instructions that before you had to drive around with 20hp and a 500,000km run Trabant. Thanks already in advance.

Purchase advice G from year 2001 – max. 30k
Hi dear forum, my name is Christian, I am 33 years old and I come from Austria. For my family (woman and 2 girls) I want a suitable means of transportation. My driving performance is max. 5000 – 7000km a year – 95% extreme short distance (way to work is 3.5km). Terrain = 0% π I want a reliable car and I am not really the screwdriver – but I don’t want to miss the luxury of the new models. Now I have quite fallen in love with the G and I am from The prices called up are a bit shocked. Usually 400CDI are offered with partly adventurous mileages of over 200,000km. At the same time 25k Euro are called for. Now I have already found out that one actually does not buy a 400 CDI DARF (control chain, transmission etc.). My question: 1.: Could I get happy with a G at all? 2.: Is a 400 CDI really a NoGo? 3.: For example – what do you think of it: http://www.willhaben.at/. ./?adId=89086599&%3B 4.: From which kilometers is a G quasi suicide? 5.: What does it look like with 270 CDI from 200,000 km? 6.: What are the most important criteria when buying? Only 1 previous owner, no trailer operation, no city car (because of gearboxes), already made with the 400 control chain, Mike Sanders or similar, service booklet complete MB – did I forget what? Price is with 30k absolutely busy evening. Thank you in advance, Ig Chris

AMG conversion front 230GE (W460) to W123
Hello, We bought our first Mercedes and have no idea… It’s a 230GE BJ 1982 (W460). This G-model was eventually rebuilt. The complete front, headlights and radiator grill are from the W123 program. From AMG. We have never seen this before. Maybe someone knows about it and can tell us something about it? Many DanK! Greetings Vanessa

Sail mode without pressing Eco button
Is it actually possible to have the sailing mode without pressing the Eco button? The permanent start of the car as soon as I stop only briefly bothers me, whereas the sailing mode I find great. What I once had, the Eco button was pressed but in the display the Eco symbol was crossed out and the sailing mode was active. But was only the case once and I could not reconstruct this variant any more. Who knows more. Thanks in advance

Brake line HL burst G350 BLUETEC 2012
Hello, my W463.346 has cost me after approx. 7.5 years and approx. 125.000 km already various gray hair (gear, vibrations, strong rust on the front disc frame and much more). Yesterday I was on my way when I suddenly noticed a soft brake pedal and relatively large operating path. At first I didn’t think much about it, because I had to drive only about 500 m away to home anyway. Shortly afterwards also the brake warning light lit up and it became lower Brem At home, I was looking for the right thing to do. At the back left of the tyre, there were some damp splashes on the inside and immediately next to it, it dripped in seconds in front of the rear axle brake fluid. After lifting the HInteraxes, I was able to take a closer look at the disaster. At the top, directly above the rear axle, there is a distributor with various brake lines on brake hoses, which in turn lead to a distributor on the HA. The brake line HL was literally bristled on the ground just before the distributor (see photo). There are also some cables running right there, and it seems to me that one might have scrubbed at the brake line and thus obviously led unnoticed to the corrosion. I separated the part visible in the photo and extended it to the distributor by a self-made piece. I tried to put the suspicious (naturally quite immovable) cable aside. There is very little space there. More was unfortunately not feasible. Who also has such a car, should maybe look in the spot precautionally…

G300 (Puch 300?) – what do I have to pay attention to?
Love Community After a long time I am now focused on a W463 of the first row, specifically a G300 from the early 90s. My questions: – petrol or diesel? Especially in terms of robustness and durability. The two I have to offer would be gasoline. – What do I have to pay attention to next to the rust? – Special rust spots that I should note? Door Panel/Rides, under the rubber on the front window, interior under the carpet and threshold I have on the list So far – Is it a stupid idea to buy or become those 200t+ km that are still running. I’m already budgeting an engine revision, but I hope that I can easily put another 100t km on it. – Automat or hand switched? My personal preference is on automat, as it becomes a weekend vehicle – Come all with air conditioning (to choose from is a standard G and a GSE, but the difference is not quite clear to me)? – How do I get iPhone music on it if n Is there a CD changer in it? With a W460 with cassette you could have solved it with a cassette audio connection. Does anyone have a solution here? – Anything else that I need to consider? Thank you for your help!

G63 Electronic
Question to specialists: Now 2 x the SAM has been replaced it goes on as follows: – From time to time the motor warning light lights up : Errors read out :Temperature measurement or similar. This looks like again even without external deletion. – Sometimes the turn signals are without function despite operation (warning system works) – The outside temperature indicator shows -40 degrees, sometimes less times it starts again after some driving time (until then in the car gets nice warm π ) – Every now and then the temperature display has disappeared completely from “the display in the cockpit (as if there was nothing to do with it) then only three strokes Has any idea if this is somehow related?

Request for advice from first G-Class G290 DG
Dear Forums (G)meinde, I want to fulfill the dream of a G-Class at the age of 32. Since the youth it is my absolute dream car. At that time still the new models but now I find the older somehow more appealing and authentic. Short to my person: 32 years, hunter with hunting possibility, no two left hands ?? separate vehicle, which I share with my wife for holidays and longer distances, available. Little experience with the vehicle class as well as the respective Models and engines. Achievement of the G: approx. 5,000km per year, diesel, light hunting, privately small distances, sometimes a crossing of the Alps, robust or not to have to screw constantly, if necessary value investment or value stability. As I have already written above, my experience is limited. Therefore, I ask you for your advice and your opinion/help about this G-Class. I have only been looking at the “seemingly special” for months. Is that true? Is it worth the price and what does it say? What about the oldtimer status?https://www.autoscout24.de/…/…5cd7-56ba-42fa-b44e-5ad096b78d1e?… I am very happy about your assessment and help! Best wishes and a nice evening G-newer

SL 500 (R230) Total failure – The Hammer!!!
Hello, what is coming now is almost not to be believed but still true! My SL 500 BJ 2002 had already 3 times a total failure. Correctly read – under driving suddenly no steering, no brake, no light, nothing at all! It seems as if the electricity and thus the entire electronics suddenly fail under the ride. The first time the problem occurred about a year ago. At 100 km/h in the evening were on the country road. Suddenly “Ende GelΓ€nde”. With need I came to 100 m at the roadside to stand. With both feet I stood on the brake. The steering reacted also only with great force effect. Of course the next day in the workshop. In answer I got “Can not be, the car has an emergency power supply, I must have been mistaken”. Well I thought to myself already no more and just pushed it out until a few days ago. But last so. then immediately two failures. Thank God again not so snow ll driven and no other cars were on the road. I then brought the car to the workshop on Monday, because the thing then honestly becomes a bit too dangerous for me. Don’t think about what could happen. Today the car picked up! And now comes the real hammer! Mechanic hands me the key and says “everything clear again and still nice week”. Curious as I am, I ask where the problem lay. Mechanic: Oh you mean the total failure – there We didn’t find anything in the protocol!!! I: And that means? Mechanics: If there had been anything, it was in the protocol. I: There are certainly problems that don’t appear in the protocol!?! Mechanics: Maybe, but I would have to call in “Berlin” (Mercedes-Zentrale)!!! I then to the boss and asked what that should be. Chef: What should we do if nothing is in the protocol. Find it to be so impudent and, above all, irresponsible. Zuh ause tries to get in touch directly with Mercedes (Berlin). Problem, however, is that everything has to run through the workshop and I can’t get directly to it. Well, and the workshop doesn’t seem to be willing to do anything here. Maybe one of you has some tips for me!

SRS and ABS lamp ββ> Icartsoft CR Pro
On my 2002 SL500, the SRS and ABS lamp light up after hibernation. I’ve already read a lot about SRS, the problem I have after every hibernation, if the CTEK did not hang continuously. With the Icarsoft cr pro I tried to delete the errors, in the on-board computer of the instrument cluster they are not shown, there is no message. I drove a round and sometimes hard braked, ABS does not seem to work. I get the Fe with the Icarsoft. or is it rather a case for the workshop with StarDiagnosis? P.S. The ABS error is only there since I tried to find the SRS with the Icarsoft. Does anyone know more about Icartech?
