  • Burned out… BiXenon

My G is almost 15 years old and has about 320000km on the clock I drive the vehicle now almost 10 years and have been driving since the 260000km always with switched on lighting and since to a large extent also in the dark is a good lighting a lot worth but lately I had the feeling that the BiXenon burners so slowly lose their luminosity therefore I have replaced the illuminants with new ones now what if you compare the old with the new ones quite sense gemac The change was not a big problem if you once understood the function of the holding ring which connects the burner with the reflector, if one half is open you have to turn the bulb a quarter turn to the left then you can take it well…

Good morning dear community, I would like to fulfill a small dream of the second car. It should definitely be a SL, I am now for months at the superior and researching which is the right model for me. In the narrow selection comes: R129, 600 or 500 R230, AMG55, 600 or 500er You will now think why do I not limit myself to 2. Problems is that I find all model good, but unfortunately only one model can afford me, otherwise I would naturally How is your advice or recommendation, perhaps also a little consideration of driving characteristics/reliability, repair costs and possibly also value increase. I am grateful for every tip Thank you very much

  • Get R107 back in shape after 4 years

Hello, I haven’t been active here for a long time. But now it’s supposed to start again. I have a SL 380 year 84, which I brought with me from the USA 4 years ago. Since I have the car here, it was in a dry hall. But it was not moved for four years now. Now I want to finish it in the first step so far that it gets TÜV and is technically safe and then it should be driven first in the summer. Later the interior is still due. However, I already have new ones, which I bought in the States at the time. I am now talking about what I should do in the first step. I would now first push the car onto the stage. Then make an oil change. I might put the ignition cap down again and clean if necessary and then I would just see if it starts. I definitely have to make new bearings for the front axle cheme. And then I would make a new brake line and shock absorber. oeststellbrake is almost ineffective Probably the steering gear has to be overhauled as well, because I have a lot of steering play. But that can also hang with the front axle bearings as I said. I have to see that then. New brake fluid and coolant is clear. Maybe still change automatic oil. What do you remember spontaneously? I am happy about every suggestion. Greeting Marc.

  • Roof is like death but has no faults in the system SL R230 500 2004

Hello guys, I’ve got my Sl R230 ready for the summer. The most important thing, however, is that the roof makes me headache. When I try to open it, he drives down the windows a little bit and then doesn’t do anything. He also doesn’t show an error message on himself in the memory. I just don’t understand what it might be, maybe I’m doing something wrong, am I looking at something? I’m pretty desperate also my workshop doesn’t understand what it’s about The flap in the trunk is closed and the tailgate is also closed correctly. The only thing that is still striking is that the tailgate stays up only when you are held tight. It does not stand up….. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • R129 Becker Mexico Diversity 876 retrofit with Bluetooth

Hello together, as the title already suggests, I would like to upgrade the Becker Mexico Diversity 876 with Bluetooth. I have not found a suitable solution on the Internet yet. Does anyone have any experience with whether there is a suitable adapter? In the car there is no CD changer and if necessary I could also do without the radio function to release a slot. Maybe one of you also has an alternative and stylish solution ready? Please look forward to your answers!

  • R107 SL450 – Exchange Amature Board and Central Tunnel – Instructions requested

Hello, would like to give my new purchase R107 450SL a new dashboard and center tunnel before I allow it. Both components are organized and lie in front of me. Would it like to exchange and install it itself, and not leave such a work to the “MB master of my trust”. Does anyone have an installation and installation instructions for the amp board of a 107er, as pdf or similar, where I could hang along? Thank you very much in advance. MFG Ben

  • R231 Aquablade windscreen wiper extremely cost-effectively renewed

Moin dear R231 friends, I have the good Assyst B again in two weeks and of course I try to get rid of as little as possible from the friendly one. That now the plus package is dispensed with and delicious Mobil1 is brought with it is natural anyway. But what caused me to break my head were the Aquablades, which admittedly did not wipe very well. Since this special species of windscreen wipers is equipped with integrated water guide and heating, retains usually the friendly one has the right to exchange these, for the small amount of 170Euro quite kindly. Unfortunately, one can buy the things nowhere in the free trade, what now? I have uncliped the wipers and removed the end caps. (Towel drum) and directly in front of the end caps the metal rails with combo pliers, squeeze a little and pull off the caps simply. Then you can pull off the spoilers with the integrated water tubes on both sides. Now go This is not possible as described in another article with silicone spray. It is because the rubbers in the middle of the picture have some notches, which you can only see when you have pulled the rubber out (the new wiper rubbers are also bomb-proof without the notches). Just pull the edge up from the rail and pull out with a little force on the holder in the middle. Now you have the middle part and the me Now comes the trick. Press both metal rails to each other (with your fingers enough) and pop out of the middle part so. Now you have the middle part and both metal rails in your hand. Below you can recognize the heater of the wipers. Now you take your new wiper rubbers out of the accessories, cut them up to the length of the old ones and muffle both metal rails on both sides into the wiper rubber. Then take the rails with rubber. push the other side with your fingers down, this can be plugged in and pressed back without any tools. Then the spoilers again (real spoiler in the right place, otherwise the next one shows wrong around) and the tubes again completely stick together. Push the end caps again, plug into the wiper arm and enjoy both new wipers for a total of 4,99 incl. shipping. Now completely important: best write the Assyst into the order: “Leave my wipers in peace, they’re new!” Have fun, Micha (who again has super clear view without streaking)

  • Oil loss on the semmering after changing the belt disc

Hello to the round, I had recently had the large belt disc changed in a contract workshop. After a short time I had noticed a slight oil loss below the new belt disc. Probably the semmering behind the belt disc loosened when pulling off/exchange. Is this a known problem or does the semmering not have to be immediately renewed in the course of changing the belt disc? The workshop informed me that during the exchange d it Semmerings the cooler needs to be expanded again and and and and. I probably have to pay for the further costs. Has anyone had the same problems after the renewal of the belt disc? Are there any experiences? Quite sincere thanks in advance and a sunny weekend!

  • Start problem

At the moment I’m a car problem tracked by the pitch after the one after the other. The engine started very badly until it didn’t want to skimp, brought the car to a Spanish “Mercedes workshop” which exchanged parts at ignition lock (interior part) although this was strictly turning but before it worked without a wall.He also cleaned the distributor,etc..have paid over 350€.I installed a new cylinder cap with distributor. The next day the car started without problems so I drove to a gas station, at the departure the car did not start again and had to be towed.I tested the Zürsuche you for help.m-f.G.

  • R 107 as a day-to-day car?

I got into the R107 Convertible at the Classic Days. I’ve only driven new cars so far. I’m actually driving my current car only on the weekend, so the question arises for me if I need a car at all. A nice compromise for me would be a classic car. Hardly loses in value (maybe it even rises) and is also nice. Now my questions as an absolute classic car layman: Can you use the R107 as a everyday car if you only spend 1-3 days in the W Oche driving? Can one drive with it once a week only to the supermarket? Is such a car even recommended for a layman? What average cost do I have to reckon with per year (about 5000km)?
