  • R129 Help Deck doesn’t want to open !!

    Hello together, I have read a lot about this here but actually everything other signs than my soft – cover (Bj 91 – 300 24V)!! I can open the windows manually but in connection with the cover open these do not go down. Roll-over iron can be operated by switch and also works. If I want to open the cover I hear a slight cracking from the back as if it can ́t / can ́t ?? When I go with the button close but I notice that the cover is pulled right down at the front of the disc at the top. Had noticed in the last days that if I can ́t open the right window with the open cover can ́t close anymore. This went then quite normal again when the cover was closed 🙁 And since today the cover unfortunately doesn ́t want to open anymore !! Would I be very happy about tips and tricks.   • ABC message in AI

    Hello With a SL55AMG lights up in the AI ABC is disturbed, error memory is short test and there is pressure sensor disturbed in it. Ok then the tests performed and it was called I should renew the hydraulic pump that sits in the front of the engine. I changed everything and filled in oil and ventilated, took a short test and then engine started again the same error message again tested says again pump defective. The pump builds up pressure of approx. 200Bar in approx. 80seconds, I find it too much. I then sometimes pressure sensor or ventli block that sits in the wheel box at the front left and still needs the same problem or error in the memory inside. both things new is not normal after all. And again when I do the test he brings the pump that I have exchanged now already three times or the pressure increase during the test always needs 80sec. with a comparison car it takes only approx. 10seconds. MFG.

  • SL500 (R129) Engine running restless for a short time

    Good morning from New Zealand! Last year I bought a SL500 Bj 1994 76,000km and am actually very satisfied! I have the problem that it first runs completely normal and calmly after starting. This only lasts about 3-5 minutes – apparently until the engine has some temperature – and then it seems that the electronics turn off 4 cylinders. The engine then sounds like a poorly adjusted Trabbi and has almost no power. This condition then stops about 2-3 minutes and suddenly the full power is back and the car runs like ever. My factory city has already had this electronic reading device on the engine… but can’t find a mistake. Maybe someone of you has an idea what it might be. Thank you in advance!

I am about to buy an SL 350. The car was first approved in May 2009 and has a mileage of about 19000 km behind it. It looks outwardly spotless, drives flawlessly and is driven by a Mercedes dealer. In addition, it has a two-year warranty (young stars). The price is also quite attractive. The only “manko”: It was a rental car of the company Europcar. Now my question, can I access here without hesitation? Will such cars be driven in? Has this car been tested on the heart of my heart? Can I expect a performance that I want with such a young car?     Hello forum. I bought a R129 and now I have a used hardtop. Since I have to paint it anyway, I think about painting it in a different color. Do you have pictures of an SL with a hardtop that doesn’t have the same color as the car? Or does it always look like wanted and not skillful? My R 129 is dark blue plain with leather beige.

  • Deficiencies in my R231 SL 500

    So dear friends, now there are a few informations or a short report of my new SL 500 type R231! Car I got as already mentioned 3 weeks ago in Bremen! Of course on this day again a TOP BEGEISTERUNG was to be felt with me, where however again I have become negligent again… Now report about the defects: tank socket is installed wrongly (8mm to 10mm ca) steering wheel deviates by about 1 degree and does not exactly disguise in the trunk very badly installed and falls off.. 12V connection in the trunk (as well as the disguise) very poorly installed, makes no good impression! and the connection is very bad accessible for the battery care device….. Otherwise the car (from the engine) makes a lot of fun (1500 km)! The consumption (what GOD SEI DANK EGAL IS) is by longer less than in the R230 SL 500!!! With similar or the same driving method good 2 liters!!!!!!

  • Elevated power difference SL350/ SL500 ?

    Evening, there are great power differences between the SL350 (245hp) and the SL500 (306hp) BJ 2004-2006? The 350, as I got with the 500er only with 2 cut-off cylinders. From the data sheet the vehicles separate nevertheless almost 2 sec. from 0-100 km/h. Because this hardly occurs actually irrelevant. Do both engines have the 5th gear transmission?     I’ve been looking for a 500 sl for a long time and I’ve stumbled on this forum.now I’ve discovered one at a dealer with 143000 km bj 91 4 hand.allegedly, the car has been driven by a businessman (insolvence) and the letter was located on the bánk.where the car was picked up had to be opened by mercedes (by kofferaum ) because he probably didn’t open with key.stand long in a deep garage and the battery was completely empty.jetz opens the cover no longer and tacho and tank display no longer work.What can be the worst thing about me? the car looks very well cared for inside as well as outside and is supposed to cost 7000.is a review made by an expert.the vehicle is supposed to run blameless.I just bammel the battery caused a short by mud and since a pile of platinums are shot through.

  • Gear change Mercedes 250GD

    Hello, I have currently installed the one-piece 5-speed transmission with aluminium housing 717.436. Because of the large tires I would like to install the 5-speed transmission 711.116 from the wolf with shorter first gear. Has anyone done this yet? What do I need with the matching clutch bell everything additionally new? Does the length of the drive shaft fit to the distribution gear? Can the same clutch remain? Do the three gear levers fit the transmission from my previous gear? And is the switching logic from the gear knob to the control rods identical? And can the drive shaft flange also be taken over from my gear? (The above mentioned parts would not be included with my available gear and would have to be worried if not overacceptable. Thank you.
