  • Star

Hi! As a total newcomer and totally ignorant user I have a question: my father has an MB SE 260! Some idiots have broken off his star and to his 50th I wanted to give his Benz the dignity again (it looks really nice… out of so nacky). On the internet there are designations for such a new star… äääh, ja, da ich kommt nicht geschaut! What do I have to pay attention to and are all stars the same? Can you use every star for every car? Would you really be great if you were to give me thanks in advance! Lg small-sized

  • W 460 Cabrio

Hello, my son had a frontal collision with a sprinter on Friday. Luckily nothing happened to him – apart from a few bruises. Tomorrow comes the expert of the comprehensive. The exact debt question has to be clarified, so first per all-round. A rough assessment according to the pictures: Is a repair worth it ? The vehicle is completely restored and stainless !! My workshop says that the frame can not be directed, or.. Greetings from Northern Germany.

  • Mercedes G300TD bj. 1997 reversing headlamp without function

Dear Community, The return light of my recently added G-Class unfortunately does not work. I noticed the whole thing when I noticed that the retrofitted rear camera is without function, or is not displayed on the radio so no signal fed. Of course I read in advance and checked the following things already: – light bulb is i.o. – cables are i.o. – connection with camera pulse generator or power supply is soldered and there comes after inserting the back My guess: The fuse may be defective? I would like to check that but unfortunately I find nowhere a schematic and in which of the whole fuse boxes the fuse is located. Does anyone have schematics? User manuals? Maintenance book? In case the fuse is in order only the switch on the selector lever comes into question? I would be very pleased to learn from your experiences and hope that I can solve the problem soon Greetings

  • The grievous tire theme…

Dear G-meinde! After having broken a tire yesterday, I have to prefer the tire theme. I drive the original Pirellis Scorpion in 19. Good road tires, in the terrain rather not so dolle. Sure. Now I am looking for a compromise, in order to continue to be comfortable on the road and still have reserves in the terrain (5-10%). I don’t know much about tires, but on my search I have to notice that I am apparently not so well positioned at 19. So I ask I don’t know if I should change to new rims right now… but which size is useful and possible? Sometimes I want to be able to drive at least 180. Of course I think the rugged off-road rims are great but I also want to be able to cruise in the city relaxed without the consumption rising to 25l, because the rolling resistance is gigantic… Oh yes, I drive a G 500 from 2017. I know that there are x posts on this topic but I can’t find anyone who really brings me forward t. So again in short: Which tyres / rim combination would you recommend to me for my requirements? Thank you for your help, Tobias (G993) from Brandenburg

  • ABS BAS EDC Error

Moin, with my 2002er G55 the three warnings ABS, BAS and EDC are constantly shining. Lt friendly diagnostic reading at MB would be the error source “undervoltage” . Further error source is not specified. i.e. it would be necessary a uU elaborate troubleshooting. The remedy in the logbook (lenkers each to the attacks) brings nothing. Does anyone have any idea how to (i.e. someone with compatible diagnostic device) make best progress in the search? Unfortunately, neither Bosch Dien st or other free workshop help because of lack of compatible diagnostic software. Thank you, Kristian

  • G63, BJ 2013, constant problem, whistling sunroof & squeaking steering column

Hello together, have a G63 (built in June 2013) since nearly 1 1/2 years in my possession and unfortunately two recurring problems with the car. On the one hand the sliding roof whistles from a speed of about 180 km/h loud, on the other hand the steering makes during parking, shunting and narrow short loud squeaking noises. I was already several times (5 or 6x) due to both problems in the Mercedes branch, the problems were fixed every time briefly, but are i .d.R. reappeared after one to two days. A lot was done, for example, because of the pipe on the sliding roof once the roof antenna was installed, sometimes even a new reinforcement than the normal one. On the steering wheel everything was tried out with different special greases, even a new steering column got my G63… nothing helped. Also multiple contact of the NL to the plant did not bring anything, the errors are allegedly completely unknown at the plant (as with the NL itself). Are there G63 drivers or drivers of other G models with the same problem(s)? Look forward to the exchange. Best regards, flip

  • Tire questions? Personal contact with Conti on 08/09.10.2010

Hi, with our Hyundai Coupé we have the problem that because of the slightly lower mileage the tires age instead of being driven off. After 6 summers (EZ 8/2005) the standard Hankook had become uncarable (zero grip in wet weather, car breaks already in slight curves hardly controllable first in front, then out back and can only be driven with spinning wheels). The Goodyear Ultragrip 7 winter tires were also from 2005, so I got a little early on Cont 2 weeks ago. i winter tires TS830 changed (Goodyear Ultragrip 7+ was not yet available), as we therefore also stayed out of the half-year change run. I have not been able to determine the weakness in dryness as determined in the ADAC test, but it is most likely to be painful from my point of view. My Michelin PA3 for the Mercedes will hold another winter before they fall below the mandatory limit of 5 mm for Austria, there will be a change in autumn 2011. the new Michelin A4 or the Conti. Now I’m lucky to have a few tests with the Conti in the snow on 08.10., then on 09.10. we go to the Contidrom. I am one of the 10 lucky participants who can participate in the SnowChallenge of MT and Continental. So if you have a few very special questions about tires, I can take them with me to the meeting and present them to the tire technicians of Conti. lg Rüdiger:-)

  • Tacho needle does not show as it should

My 2002 SL55AMG has already a moving past life behind it. Delivered in Spain he appeared about 15 months after delivery in the USA and then ended up in 2009 again in Germany. Here he then got into the hands of a dealer and a little later for about 14 years into the hands of my predecessor / previous owner. He was delivered probably with 330 km/h tacho. But then he got in the USA a pure 200 mph tacho ( or only tacho disc?). Back in Good Old Germany the whole became Some things went wrong with the back & forth. If I choose the display in miles on the on-board computer, then the distances are displayed correctly in miles. However, the tacho needle shows the correct speed value in km/h. I choose the display in km in the on-board computer then the display of the distances is also correctly in kilometers. However, the tacho needle shows fantasy values, which according to my estimation ng is about 1.6 times the actual speed in km/h. So at actual 100 km/h the speedometer needle shows about 160 km/h. Does any of you have any idea what’s wrong or maybe even an idea how to fix this malady? I am grateful for every finger point.

  • Windscreen washing system heated

The whole thing I wanted to write a long time ago but well. I know it’s warm outside and the topic is not so interesting or just freezes the washing machine in spite of concentrate up to – 60 °C in winter. The error is with high probability in the cold air draught under the bonnet which leads over the hose to the nozzles. Because if I clip the hose to the nozzles from the holders and coat with steam material from the heating construction, then the penomen does not occur a uf. Maybe that would be easy but did not satisfy me visually. Inspired by a post from January 2016 in the following thread, I looked at the thing more closely.http://www.motor-talk.de/…/…-washwater-wischwasser-t5559409.html So with the limousines it is probably so that the windscreen washing system is heated over the cooling system and the whole thing is also thermostatically controlled to +30 °C. The hose to the nozzles is electrically heated and like the SWA nozzle With my W463 this outlet on the front of the SAM is the same as for the SWA nozzle heater. Actually, it would be enough to change and use a limousine hose. The hose does not fit 1:1 you have to replace the first distributor in the hose with a connector and remove the last exit. Since on the W463 no check valve is installed in the SWA I did this and one is installed in T-shape. Since that comes also in the The connection of the left nozzle has to be replaced by one of the right nozzle and exactly between both nozzles the T-piece is set with an integrated check valve. But since the SWA tank was already outside I have installed the heating of a W 210. The SWA tank must be removed because otherwise you do not come to the pump connections. The grip of the cooling water connection is a part of the W210 and thus the cooling water e The pumps of the limousines are different here they have an additional 8-mm connection. Since my pump was only renewed not too long ago, I bought a used pump from a limo and only replaced the pump housing. The suitable cooling fluid hoses are also from the W210. Since the retrofitting there were no problems again. There are also pictures of it but I have to take them in the loop. See and work.

  • Intake air temperature sensor at R129 500SL with KE-Jetronic

Hello dear Motor-Talk municipality, I have an apparently somewhat bigger problem with my R129 / 500SL of the first series with KE-Jetronic (M 119.960) ………… 326 Ps In the error reading came the error: “Intake air temperature sensor” I have already spent a lot of time finding this intake air temperature sensor on this engine, unfortunately so far without success !? WHO here in the forum knows WO this sensor is exactly on this engine, or in the engine compartment ? Normal This sensor would have to be located directly in the airflow of the intake area, but it is not there !?? Who can help me here? I am grateful for every tip……. GLG R129-FAN
