  • First time G class!

Good morning dear community, I’ve been driving several SUVs for a few years now and a Porsche Cayenne GTS that has to leave in the middle of the year. Now I’ve fallen in love with a G63 that I’ve seen by chance in Cologne. Now I’m so G class infected 🙂 Can any of you experts tell me some experiences about the G 63? In particular, I’m interested: – how are the wind noises in the G at 160-180 – there really is no removable AHK -fin the color Designo Magno extremely cool, but should be super sensitive? -which color would you prefer -how is the realistic consumption Thank you for helping Gruss

  • Buy G-Class?

Hello everyone! I would like to buy a new used one this year. Unfortunately I still have no idea what it should be. I am currently driving a small Mazda 323 C IV BG from ’94, which is however too small for me, therefore only limited long distance travel suitable and will probably last for up to 4-5 years due to rust on all parts. In addition an old Mercedes MB100D. It is indeed huge and I can (must) repair everything myself (also head seal) The thing is amazingly cross-country, but it has only 75hp and a cruising speed of about 100 kmh, at which you have to catch fresh air on every stop with tinitus on your ears… is therefore not suitable for motorways. What I am looking for now is a car that suits me. A car that I can drive for the next many years, with which I can also drive to Spain or Italy, (and this as comfortable as possible with reasonable speed over the e Autobahn), and that even in the terrain and in the snow still comes from the spot. The consumption is first of all secondary. Also a registration as a truck would be nice. What do you think? Does the G-Class do what as the only car, to drive with it daily to work and also sometimes far away into the holiday? And is it at all economical, if one needs the off-road accessibility usually only for fun?

  • Questions on fuel reserve and stationary heating

Good evening dear G-meinde, 2 new things confuse me with the meanwhile 1,500 km driven G350BT: Fuel reserve: Here a yellow and later a red tank symbol appears when the fuel is running down. However, the remaining range is no longer displayed. At Discovery came the warning light, but the residual range was further displayed. Can you set this somewhere with the G? If not, how much liters do you have with yellow or red?Standheizung: It is my first standheizu ng in a car, it warms the interior perfectly. I thought, however, that the cooling water is also preheated and thus avoids the unfavorable warm-up phase. However, the water temperature indicator stands at 0. Is this because the sensor sits in a place to which the warm water reaches only when the engine runs or is the cooling water not warmed at all? Servus

  • Lock the axles?

I have recently had a G 270 Bj 2002 with a safe mileage of only 70000 km Since I have little to no experience with off-road vehicles so far and am absolutely beginner with regard to Mercedes G I hope to get some helpful tips here. 1. The center and axle locks switch only very reluctantly. The light up of the red confirmation takes different lengths. The middle sometimes goes immediately, shortly afterwards, next attempt, it takes very long or several attempts are necessary Ig. rear axle as well. Front axle always lasts very long, several hundred meters driving distance, sometimes nothing happens at all, there is no feedback. 2. The doors, especially the rear door, are difficult. Out of hinges rust exits. Can one the fat or which possibility of remedy are known. Torsten Block

  • Hope: Multimedia totally for the G-Class, ex works and ex post!

Comand Online. This is the name of the multimedia hub of the current G-Class. In the first year of delivery, the system could not use smartphones from Apple and no smartphones with the Android operating system for the data connection. The result was “Comand Offline”. Any protest at MB had done nothing. Only in 2014 Mercedes started to deliver a Navi in all model series, which supports correspondingly contemporary Bluetooth protocols. The result was right here too. lean: A very slow data connection, impossible web browsing and an absolutely ridiculous Mercedes-Benz Appstore. The following applies practically to all MB vehicles: Then Apple took care of the matter and developed a system for all manufacturers with “CarPlay” which brings iOS to the Navi screen completely. Mercedes was one of the first manufacturers to offer the system. The start is the C-Class. However, and this is new, Mercedes wants a retrofitting option for older vehicles and promises this by the end of 2014! Probably all “Comand Online” systems will be affected, the retrofit will probably be a small black box, which is switched into the bus system of the Navi. Here my source:http://www.macrumors.com/…/ P.S.: Mercedes wants to bring CarPlay to the market as a universal system, which not only supports iOS but also Android.

  • Which tyres fit best to the R 107: summer tyres, all-year tyres, brand tyres or cheap

Hello dear friends of the sheet metal, I have got myself a nice R 107, 380, 1985 year, red, gilded and the tires 205 70 R 14 on baroque rims have come into the years. Not Rissig but just old and harder. Now should be new on it and the question is which !!! Beautiful all weather white wall tires for 420 € for 4 pieces, Galaxy R 1, but are the what ? brand tires for over 200 € the piece, but do I need these for almost 700 km a year ? Cheap summer tires for 63 €/pcs. ( Maxxis), are these her Money worth entrusting his life ? Test reports are not so many for such an oldie tire, only suitable to other sizes. Therefore I have the question to the experienced hares , which Pneu fits to the R 107 ? ? ? Personally I would like to admit the white wall tires, as they are beautiful, fit to the car and are all year round tires ( I know: higher wear/softer rubber), but are these what ? I am happy about your competent opinion aud statements, Your Klaus of Jupiter. Thank you…

  • Fire extinguishers in SL MOPF

Small warning to all who want to configure an R231 MOPF and the fire extinguisher (682): In the price list (and also in the MB configurator) there is the hint: “Fire extinguisher mounted at the front of the driver’s seat”. I know for sure that this is not so! The fire extinguisher is still in the rear compartment with roller blind between the seats where it takes away valuable storage space.

  • SL in an underground garage without power supply 4 months silent

Dear community, since I did not move my SL 350 (2007) for 4 months in winter, I have disconnected both batteries, because of the lack of a socket, and could nevertheless successfully start again in March. My procedure: First of all, make sure that the emergency key (fits in the vehicle key) opens the locked boot lid mechanically! (see also manual) I only did this with the emergency key of the spare key. If it is not possible, you may not Do not close the trunk later! In a collection garage like in my case a problem. Then you need another solution and should not read any more here. If one of the emergency keys works on the boot lid, it goes as follows: 1. Terminal the starter battery in the engine compartment first. 10 key required. First carefully clamp the minus pole, then the plus pole. I have both wrapped each with an old piece of cloth so that it can not come to metal 2. Close the bonnet and doors (not the boot lid) and lock the vehicle by central locking. 3. Now release the consumer battery in the boot and clamp it off. First the minus pole, then the plus pole. Both wrap with a piece of cloth each so that they can’t come to metal. 4. Now you can close the boot lid. (If the emergency key has been tested positively as above) This means that the SL is completely closed and Wint is able to I was worried if the batteries had enough voltage after a good 4 months because I didn’t use any charger. Did they. The spring awakening. 1. Open the boot lid with the emergency key. 2. Connect the consumer battery again. First Plus – then Minus. 3. If you press “Open” on the key, the central locking should work again. With me the the theft siren went on, but after renewed pressure on the key so 4. Now unlock the bonnet and connect the starter battery again. First plus – then minus 5th hood and start the car quite normally. With me a few lights went on and the time was wrong, otherwise there were no problems. Everything worked perfectly. Even the radio stations were still there. The lights went out again after a few meters drive on their own. As I said, so I did it and will do it again next winter. It is just my He But I don’t take any responsibility for other vehicles.

  • Tyres with emergency running characteristics

Had already asked the question in another thread, but it probably went down there. So here again: There are also these “tires with emergency running characteristics” (R66): Short description With a tire breakdown, tires with emergency running characteristics do not have to be changed immediately. A further drive is possible without great comfort losses – depending on the load up to 80 km far with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. 416,50 Euro Does anyone have experience with the parts? nd harder than normal tires, which also reduces suspension comfort (but probably doesn’t matter with ABC). Then the rolling resistance is higher, which would mean higher chipping consumption. See also herehttp://www.mercedes-benz.de/…/advantages_tyres.html

  • Chiptuning?

Hello, what do you think of Chiptuning for the G500 I am travelling a lot of long distances, highways and highways – and there the data of Racechip.de sound quite good. However, there is no part report for the G500, therefore a single acceptance would be due. But that would be possible with us, because in my vicinity there is a quite pragmatic TÜV… BGT
