Hello, I’m new here and I need your advice. I want to get an off-road car as a second car, because I often go fishing and hunting and I can only do that with my B 180 from Mercedez only bad 😉 Had already looked at the “new” Panda 4×4. But is almost a little small. But can also be a used off-road car. But know me with car technology only magically, therefore I hope here on your advice. My ideas: – Price max. 12,000 Euro – we d only driven as 2 seaters, there is always dog sitting behind. – as low consumption as possible (possibly combinable with car gas). – very important Euro 4, since I want to drive with it from time to time on a business trip – speed does not matter, however, 130 km/h suffice me – very reliable it should be, rust-resistant etc. – need no electr. window lifter etc. Climate would be ok and a simple radio. – the car wants the next 8 years as much as possible without large rust and technology pro – Use of the car: 60% road and 40% forest roads, gravel roads – hardly anything is pulled with the car Do you have any tips for me, which car should I look closer? Rather buy from the dealer in my case or still private (but because of my ignorance already fell in) or turn to a club? Many thanks in advance, the “sock holder” (my dog is called sock *laughs*)

Successor for LandCruiser
Hello, I am currently driving a Toyota LandCruiser HDJ80. I went with him from time to time into the terrain (also heavier with winch etc.). But mostly I use it as an old-day vehicle and to travel with the caravan. Since the diesel and the age have come (17 years) I am now looking for a successor for the next few years. That is why the new one is to become a gasoline engine with conversion to autogas. I have already tried many “OffRoader” and have meanwhile hung on 2 vehicles. love: – Landrover Range Rover (model 2006) Supercharged (possibly also the suction cup) – Chevrolet Tahoe (model 2007), possibly the Z71 version purchase price approx. 40 – 50 T€. At the range I don’t find the Navi so good and there is hardly one with heater (successful installation not possible. The Tahoe is relatively large, I don’t know how it is in the terrain. What are your opinions on the 2 cars? Best regards, Stefan

Buying decision off-road vehicles
Hello, I’m looking for a reliable off-road car – preferably petrol, because I only travel between 5,000 and 10,000 km per year. Ideally it should be a 3-door car with a short wheelbase, because I don’t need a too big vehicle, for example my wife doesn’t like a “big car”. The car should be used from time to time as a tractor for a horse trailer for 2 horses. It can easily also be an older year of construction (from approx. 96). You recommend me? Thank you for your help in advance. Greetings Offroad56

Rope around front tires as a winch replacement?
Yesterday the following thought went through my mind, to which I would be interested in your assessment: In the case of snow and ice, we have sunk last with a Toyota Landcruiser up to the axles on one of our horse couplings in the snow, so that all four wheels could turn freely and no improvement was in sight. The vehicle has a permanently installed 24V winch with 9mm wire rope, which can pull over 3 tons. Finally we could pull ourselves out of the dirt with the winch, The interesting question is now, if there is no winch available in such a situation, it would be an option to thread a strong rope around one or both front wheels and then unwrap two turns and then tie it up exactly in front of the front wheels, so that the front wheels can be used as a winch replacement. serve!?? In my imagination this should actually work, if one turns slowly with low reduction, because often only half a meter is necessary to free the vehicle. Nevertheless, our ripped wire rope showed me what immense forces are necessary, which then directly affect the front suspension, track rod etc.. I don’t know if this is a good idea?

ABS – Brake travel gift
Hello, have the impression that with ABS on dry road you give a good brake path. On some loose ground anyway. As good as that is perhaps with wet or smoothness, on dry paint cream I find this counterproductive, not to say dangerous. I always notice this at a place where I drive with different vehicles and then brake properly. Someone has tested something like that already, how much that makes up, maybe with a vehicle, where you can use the ABS a Is it ideal that the ABS does not intervene in dry road, but only in wet weather, etc., or is there serious differences between the various manufacturers/vehicles? mfg41

ZV Opel Frontera A Sport
Hi people have already asked my question in the Opel area under Frontera, now here again my question or my leaning . With my recently acquired Frontra A Sport Bj 95 the ZV does not work fuse is inside and i.o. what it is or where are the switches and or motors etc for this vehicle for that. Secondly, where do you get protective grilles for the rear lights and other tuning or accessories would like to upgrade the Fronti a little bit. I am in as well satisfied with the front i also in terms of fuel consumption drive every day 110km to work consumption is 9l Super so for this vehicle in my opinion normal there are new vehicles that consume much more. And in my opinion the Fronti is still a real all-wheeler without much technology and all possible electronic helpers where the driver still has to drive and not the electronics. I am grateful for every tip.

Decision-making aid Pick Up with approx. 2t trailer load
Hello Leutchen, until still very fresh concerning towing vehicles and turn to you ‘species’ for this reason. I have a lifting work stage rental and stages with up to 2.5 t weight. Currently I pull the whole with a 2.4 l E-class. However, with some more difficult terrain I get to my limits very quickly (there is already a wet meadow). Now I find a jeep which should make the work easier for me, but I don’t know any advice. llen: – Bj: from 95 – Circuit/Automatics: no matter – should already be a diesel – Towing load min. 2.5 t (Support load is rather low on work platforms) and very important a truck registration(Pick Up) I would be happy if you could help me with your experience.

Tiguan Off-Roader wanted!
Hello Off-Road-interested among the Tiguan drivers, I have been busy since the decision for the VW Tiguan with the off-road theme. I have already booked an introductory course “SUV as off-roader” and am now quite hot on the ride(s) into the terrain – off-road just. I am interested in your usage balance so far: 1.) Do you drive with the Tiguan (all in all) into the terrain? 2.) How do you estimate your share of road/land (e.g. 80%/20%) 3.) What experiences ha bt you with 3a.) Off-road terrain (especially South/West Germany) 3b.) Off-road trainings 3c.) Off-road trips /-tours /-routes 4.) What experiences do you have regarding off-road tyresI am looking for the combination Tiguan and off-road-interested (preferably) in the South/West-German region. Contributions to the topic as well as interested ones also welcome towards the fan/off-road club! LG, Matze

Does the four wheel fail? Amused and well entertained by Tiguan Forum
Amused and well entertained by Tiguan Forum There is already 21 pages of discussion about ABS, EDS, ASR, etc. on or off when riding a wet meadow with a minimal incline. … and yet the topic starter remains on the meadow “hanging”. I simply could not avoid setting up the claim in the TIG forum: I would simply drive up the meadow and certainly also other offroad experts, regardless of your brand and WITHOUT designated offroad experts z u – that’s not me either. When I’m on our meadows, I ride on it and down again and don’t have to think about which switch I have to press and which one better not. Nevertheless, it always worked well. Apart from that, I don’t have any switches, except for light and ventilation…
