  • Desert-suitable offroader searched

On weekends I plan trips to the desert. I have the choice between classic stone deserts and a huge sand desert. As a colleague already advised me, I will buy my off-road car on site, because then coolers, oil tubs … and especially the A/C are adapted to local conditions. Since the good piece is not to cost a fortune immediately, I will buy a used one. The consumption should be on the St. There are so many, but which one is the right one? Long wheelbase and roof railing (for the roof tent) … on long trips you should also be able to sleep comfortably in it. In summer it will be in the shade over 50 degrees … so please don’t suggest an old Landrover without A/C. Maybe someone can give me some good tips ? Landcruiser, FJ Cruiser, L2 00, Patrol …. also like to take recommendations for alternatives. Many thanks in advance to all who make the effort and actually answer 😉 Nice weekend !!

  • Advice/help: Offroad-“Camper”

Hello together, since we are planning a holiday in Iceland this summer and one is only left there in the “inner” of the country with a 4×4 drive, but we want to spend the night in our own vehicle for cost reasons and for the sake of simplicity, we seek a compromise from it. I do not think that too much emphasis must be placed on the off-road capability, because we do not intend to drive on the extreme highland slopes with river crossings etc.. For this we also lack the corresponding Offroad experience. It’s more about getting up a slightly steep gravel road, for example, and as I said, a 4×4 drive in the area is probably required by the authorities. My biggest “problem” is that I don’t know at all about this used car sector and I don’t even know what kind of vehicles are in principle in question. So far, I only have a VW T3/T4/T5 with Syncro/4motion drive and camping or Multivan equipment or a Landy with e.g. Although I am rather skeptical about the long-haul capability of T3 and Landy (are just a “pair” km of motorway). Does anyone still have an idea, which vehicles would still be in question? Thank you very much! 🙂 Ciao Flokko

  • SUVs?

this winter really has it in itself… snow without end… now we think… our 10 year old e-class has 4matic, and we are so glad that we can get there almost anywhere with permanent all-wheel drive – even where 2 wheel driven vehicles fail… but the height of our car has limits, and we think that maybe a suv offers even more space between road and underfloor. underfloor protection would be nice, hangers we did not plan, but can still be, terrain is rather opt ional, but it’s a nice added value… how such a vehicle looks, we’re not interested in much. it has to work. and it has to be affordable. the (long-term) quality has to be right, and the repairs should be few. the maintenance should not be more than we pay now. in case of gasoline, it should be autogas-proof, with diesel perticel filters and at least have euro4 standard. in’s eye we had a volvo cx90, but that’s unfortunately only a front driven vehicle, where zw ar if necessary, but nevertheless too much time delay, the rear wheels are switched on; but permanent all-wheel drive is obligatory. with all that I have read so far, the touareg is not in question; moreover, with all our vw’s we had so far little joy and a lot of problems. In addition, the problem is that, although only 1.89 m high, I am a sitting giant, and prefer to sit upright… the phase of being in the car as before 30 years is already over. some suv goes there no more. in addition, I am a safety freak – the brake fending like e.g. with a jeep commander is indisputable in my eyes. a m-class is too expensive. unfortunately. I am looking for a reliable vehicle for more than 100000 km – which vehicle would you advise me to do?

  • Grand Cherokee 5.9 always super plus?

Hi guys, I’m thinking about a possible new purchase of a good used 4×4 and now I’ve come to a ZJ V8 since 1997 after a long test etc. The 5.9 is of course something fine (also because of the slightly better equipment), but why does the Motor Super Plus need? In the case of the 5.2, it has an even lower performance yield. And could you drive it with Super? Maybe through these Power ECUs? And is it really true that the HA (is then a Dana44, or) the 5th. 9s has not grown? Thanks, mfg Steffen

  • Storage space – who offers the most?

Hello, the following problem: My “old ones” remember to exchange their previously used Mercedes E-Kombi. This is the model series 210 which was characterized by everything I know by its quite enormous volume of storage space, also in comparison to the successor is that right? Well, in the future they actually need more space, especially in length and width, but also in height it is of advantage. However, especially my father has a certain amount of advantage. n the demand for compfort&power, vehicles like a VW bus, Ford transit etc. that would really offer the space they need, so everything falls out. That’s why I thought of an off-road vehicle, but also there are not the really big hard devices in question that really offer space like a suburban etc. The direction would be rather like a VW Touareg, Volvo XC90 etc. The things have but as far as I know far less interior space than one can avoid due to their external dimensions So my question is: Is there a possibility to compare the liters of second-hand cars somewhere? Ideally the volume of the E 210 in comparison? The price range goes up to 20,000€, the vehicle may not be older than 7 years and should have under 175,000 on the clock. I myself had thought most of all about the Land Cruiser 100, because an GL is still too expensive at the moment, but does it really offer more than one Touareg? Greetings

  • Search Site Vehicle

Hello I have taken a new job in which you don’t deserve too bad, but I need a long-term vehicle that can cope with not existing roads. At the moment I drive a Smart Fortwo and I stuck with it in a “Puddle” I looked at some SUVs and jeeps but so really off-road they didn’t come in front of me except Defender and G Class which have their price however 😯 When searching around I am then on a lobster H3 3 .5 with a gas system that would say so. However, since I want to avoid it to overestimate myself with the carHummer H3 Do I have some questions What do you think as a lobster connoisseur of the vehicle (price)??? How do I know that the lobster has an all-wheel drive??? in a video I have seen that the h3 has only an optional switchable all-wheel drive Addriver has

  • How good is the new Freelander II?

In this forum one reads and hears absolutely nothing about the new Landrover Freelander II. In the popular car magazines like AMS, Auto Zeitung, Auto Bild, Fourwheel Fun, Autobild Allrad etc. the new Freelander II has been juxtaposed with its direct competitors like the BMW X3, the Opel Antara, the Mitsubishi Outlander and of course the Toyota RAV 4. The Freelander has won almost all comparison tests, sometimes scarcely, sometimes thick. The alleg my tenor to this SUV is very postiti v: the good engine, the very good suspension comfort, the good workmanship and quality and the terrain suitability are praised. Unfortunately, all these “tests” say nothing about the reliability of the Freelander II in everyday operation. The sales figures of the FreelyII of the last 3 months are high, so that one or the other would have to drive the FreelyII already. I would be grateful about reports, since I give my current BMW X3 2.0d because of the grotesque bad suspension comfort and m The FreelyII appeals to me very much if the reliability is right. • SUV or pickup searched

Hello I am looking for a new vehicle. This is supposed to replace my previous second car. Use is mainly road but now and then also via meadow and forest roads, often also as a tractor for an animal trailer (cows and horses). The question is what makes more sense. Pickup or off-road car. How much hp should it be? Petrol or diesel? At mileage 15000km/year should come together. Price-wise I don’t want to spend more than 10000 euros. Thank you
