  • Approval H-marks / non-existent papers?

Hello, I would like to allow a vintage car. I bought this one recently – but unfortunately all the papers (that is, really everything – are missing and can not be found again) and the car was driven in the last 14 years exclusively on a non-public road. I would like to allow the car with H-marks. I am quite aware of how I would proceed if I had only lost the vehicle letter. But so!? The vehicle certificate needs the vehicle letter, the vehicle letter needs the test report of the last main inspection. For a new main inspection, however, I need the vehicle letter again. If someone can help me, I would be very grateful!

  • Classic faults in engine assembly

Hello! I am currently working on a feature film, which plays for the most part in an Oltimer workshop. And would need help from experienced hobbyists / mechanics There should be a scene in which someone rather inexperienced (but also not completely unsuspecting) should assemble and install a car engine, but at the same time commits a serious mistake – which nobody first notices. Something that can cause real problems later on, so for example, the whole engine will be scrapped if you start the car or there is a risk of an accident. What are the classic mistakes in assembling? Or maybe even someone has experienced something like that? As said: It shouldn’t be a really stupid mistake, but something that can happen if you don’t know enough … The car brand doesn’t matter – the main thing is a (young) oldtimer. Thank you!!!

  • Tank Königstiger IV – for sale !

Hello everyone! I am writing to the oldtimer forum in the hope that you will be able to help me through your knowledge of older vehicles and your collector’s interest. Does anyone know collectors, prospects or addresses of persons, companies…who have an interest in getting a King Tiger IV from the Second World War in its original state? It is perhaps a somewhat extraordinary question but I ask for your help! More information is available with serious interest. Thank you, Greeting Andreas

  • Restoring the car

Hello everyone, I’ve already got a little bit of advice and read some good questions and answers, but I wanted to talk to the car myself again. I’ve already had a long dream of restoring my own project cart and making it chic, so I’m practically building my dream car myself. However, I’m more lay than experienced in car technology. I’m not completely inexperienced with the engine technology, however, I’m just learning about land and construction machinery mechatronics and doing the maintenance work on my moped myself. However, I’m still not familiar with cars. My mind about the whole thing is now to have a hobby or rather a passion. My question about you now is, what, just as the first project, should be offered for cars and on what I should pay special attention to when buying (The zb rust is a big nick break I know, but what else is there? My taste doesn’t go personally towards the very old German cars, but rather towards the JDM’s from the years 1980/1990. So Toyota Supra, Nissan is a big nick break, but what is necessary for me?

  • Problems with Mercedes Oltimer sales

Last weekend I sold my Mercedes 190 SL privately, which I have already sold for more than 20 years. I actually only drove with it in the first 1-2 years otherwise it had actually only kept it as a valuable investment. On the day before, I wrote that the vehicle has been standing for almost 20 years and is therefore not ready to drive. Extensive work is therefore necessary. Now the buyer called me and accused me of having sold him an accident car! r said that I can’t take over the accident-free warranty because the car is from fourth hand. I could only do this if I were the first owner of the car. Originally he wanted to bring a professional at the first inspection, but refused this because I didn’t want to show the surroundings to every stranger. The car is standing at my uncle’s in an air-conditioned hall with valuable helicopters and gliders (models). In the contract was also under exclusion of any warranty. I am not aware of an accident and certainly not in my time. The car always ran well ! He said the frame was completely spoiled. May now be only a used car of private sale if I have examined it before for an accident expertly. So it still comes ! I suspect that the works (rust etc.) were too extensive for him that he is only looking for or found a reason for possibly. I don’t have to give any guarantees as a private person, or ????? After that, he only expanded what about the car (valuable spare part etc.) and wants to give it back to me again train by train. He already has the car in his possession for 5 days. But does not want to rewind the contract. The freight forwarder at the same time his technician had the opportunity to take the car into consideration at the second date (before payment).

  • Citroen DS – re-inflame an old love

From 1990 to 2002 I drove a Citroen DS 19 Pallas from 1965 (last red hydraulic system). A dream in green (I think the color number was AC 568… ivy green or so similar). This model year can be seen from the outside by the unusual, cisilated wheel caps. The car was an absolute dream. Really very reliable. After all, it ran (only in summer) so every year between 3,000 and 6,000 km. Unfortunately I increasingly lacked the time, so that I then preferred to use it. I didn’t want it to just be broken. In the meantime I could imagine a DS again. But only the old front. Does someone have a tip where you can have maintenance and repair in/around Hamburg? I honestly don’t have time to screw myself. With the vehicle offers it’s actually only noticeable that the prices have remained quite stable. Does anyone have a tip on this too? Many greetings.

  • Opel 1290 crack in the block

Hello guys, since I noticed some time ago power drop in my Opel 1290 Bj1934 and I screwed out the spark plugs after a sudden failure of a cylinder, I noticed with horror that in the 2nd cylinder water has penetrated. Of course suspicion – cylinder head seal, now without expansion it could not be said… so apart …. and see there:Motorblock …well? Problem found? Exactly! a little closer:In focus So, so you can easily close up But since such a 1290 engine is not to be found on every junkyard, there is still the “small” hope to have it welded in a prophesied way. However, the whole block is casting. My question to you, has already had any experience with torn blocks that were welded? Or does a very good contact point know for that? wish you another nice evening

  • Vergaservereisung – Why only in midsummer

My question actually does not concern a classic car, but only a 17-year-old motorcycle. Since the corresponding motorcycle forum only deals with louder exhausts and power increases etc. (can?) I put it here. Ga server ice is finally a classic car theme: 4-cylinder in-line motor across the direction of travel, wind-cooled, 4 direct-pressure carburetor behind the engine, no gassing influence by any exhaust control equipment. The engine starts without problems with Choke at below 12°C and runs without any problems apart from normal cold running involuntaries. Above about 12°C you don’t even need a Choke to start. But if the temperature rises even higher (about 25°C) the following happens: Engine starts perfectly and runs the first half minute and then suddenly has total power loss. On the free track it caught itself after 100-200m again through more gas, in the city however it goes there nn off. Without Chocke he no longer jumps, with Chocke immediately, but turns up on a few thousand revolutions and still has no power. When Choke is pushed in he immediately goes out again. The external carburettors are ice cold in the area of the sliding tower. The two inner vmtl. also, only I don’t come to the feel. If you leave the engine then about 1min it runs after it perfectly. So all points out to Vergaservereisung. Only why does it occur only in the summer when is it really warm and not even in cool weather?

  • Pimp my ride!

Because of a double-sided break in the groin, I’m out of action at the moment. And when I zapped the TV station, I got stuck these days on MTV’s Pimp My Ride! Did one happen to see that? So I always thought that a Trabant has little to do with a car or even a vintage car, well that’s just a matter of taste now, I don’t like it, it stinks, etc. But since on MTV they set up a Trabant, it was a real splendor ! With all the drum and drum ! In conclusion, it was only a trabant because you already knew it before. Horny paint, aluminum wheels, the interior completely reworked with finest fabrics. That was already not bad ! Monitors and a horny system was installed and the best was the ones that gave the Trabi a flip – flopp front that goes on and on by remote control ! Only at the motorization was unfortunately nothing changed, but otherwise the box was the finest. Bug 1200

  • Mega trouble Senator in underground garage

Hi, I have to write down my frustration here!! My Senator A ( Condition Good 2, no scrap) is still standing after my move on a rented parking space in the underground garage, at the old place of residence. There he is now about 3 months, logged off. Yesterday I get mail from the municipality with invoices of the community, the fire department and a disposal company. Fzg was broken up by the police because of presentation of the holder. Have looked for the chassisrs. The municipality, of which I am the Ste llplatz rented, has also my new Adri!!!!! Now comes the absolute upper hammer: It was disposed of by the fire brigade oil, which allegedly ran out of the senator. So I go there today, and see there: All the operating materials are still where they go in the engine and tank!! Moreover, the engine from below “pupps drying” is not even oil veiled.. The whole parking lot is however still full of oil binder and the senator is open. ( door lock cracked ) I believe the ( deschool The invoices amount to almost 1600,- What can I do???? The oil that they have disposed of is def. not from the car!! Who pays me the damage to the senator???? Frustrated greetings Sven
