• Pimp my ride!

Because of a double-sided break in the groin, I’m out of action at the moment. And when I zapped the TV station, I got stuck these days on MTV’s Pimp My Ride! Did one happen to see that? So I always thought that a Trabant has little to do with a car or even a vintage car, well that’s just a matter of taste now, I don’t like it, it stinks, etc. But since on MTV they set up a Trabant, it was a real splendor ! With all the drum and drum ! In conclusion, it was only a trabant because you already knew it before. Horny paint, aluminum wheels, the interior completely reworked with finest fabrics. That was already not bad ! Monitors and a horny system was installed and the best was the ones that gave the Trabi a flip – flopp front that goes on and on by remote control ! Only at the motorization was unfortunately nothing changed, but otherwise the box was the finest. Bug 1200

  • Mega trouble Senator in underground garage

Hi, I have to write down my frustration here!! My Senator A ( Condition Good 2, no scrap) is still standing after my move on a rented parking space in the underground garage, at the old place of residence. There he is now about 3 months, logged off. Yesterday I get mail from the municipality with invoices of the community, the fire department and a disposal company. Fzg was broken up by the police because of presentation of the holder. Have looked for the chassisrs. The municipality, of which I am the Ste llplatz rented, has also my new Adri!!!!! Now comes the absolute upper hammer: It was disposed of by the fire brigade oil, which allegedly ran out of the senator. So I go there today, and see there: All the operating materials are still where they go in the engine and tank!! Moreover, the engine from below “pupps drying” is not even oil veiled.. The whole parking lot is however still full of oil binder and the senator is open. ( door lock cracked ) I believe the ( deschool The invoices amount to almost 1600,- What can I do???? The oil that they have disposed of is def. not from the car!! Who pays me the damage to the senator???? Frustrated greetings Sven

  • Underground garage syndrome

Hello oldie friends, inspired by a post here in this forum, “Stress with a senator in the underground garage wg. oil loss” I would like to have an explanation about the following behavior: I have been renting garages or underground parking spaces for over 20 years or even a small hall, so that my darlings always have nice dry. The experiences I make here with the neighbors are not always positive, sometimes it is even spoken out aggressively. Oldies already several times “manipulated” or even deliberately damaged (the roof of my beetle Cabrios was cut open by house inhabitants). A special “specialist” poured 5 liters of oil under my beetles. Without witnesses who had observed the act I would have got a big problem. The cars do not lose oil, the condition is topp, they have TÜV or H-marks and are, at least in summer, registered or have season marks. And then again and again idiots and ask when the car gets away and if the car is standing there even longer! Hardly the cars are not on the parking lot for a few days, then the owner calls if I still need the place. He would have a few calls from people who would like the place. If the cars are nicely packed over the winter, I find under the car a garbage dump every time. Furthermore, some underground parking neighbors realize very quickly that the place between my and her parking lot still as an additional I can use the footprint and push a motorcycle in – distance to my car about “one-finger width”. Can someone explain this behavior to me ? What experiences have you already made ? Christmas greetings ARBE

  • Restoring the car

I’m still new here, so please be nice to me I’m a total beginner on the topic “Auto & Co” and have no precautions (I’m not pre-loaded *g*).My question is now: I’d like to buy an older car (that’s what in the currency 2CV, mini or beetle) and at best also restore or put my own hand if there is something to repair. However, I can’t estimate at all what would come up to me, therefore w should I ask here if I could do something like this as a layman at all… Is it possible for me as a non-craftman to restore and/or maintain a car at least partially with the right guidance and the right tool? Or do you have to bring some know-how and dexterity with you? I’m sorry if the question is perhaps a little too general, or not quite clear, but I didn’t know who else to turn to. would be very happy about your answers! Greetings from Switzerland, Marcel

  • Opel Commodore A 2.5 Bj.70 Prices?

Hello, I was offered an Opel Commodore A. Some short details: – Year of construction ’70 – Machine 2.5l – original 60.000km – Color black (1st painting) – Leather red – all parts original – the car is driven by a cardinal so far I have not yet been able to visit the car, do not even know if it is a limousine or coupe. Since I can therefore not say much about the condition of the car, it is of course difficult to make a value assessment. D However, my question would be, if one assumes that the car is not running down and above all is not tinkered, in which price frame the Commodore move like this. Unfortunately, the information I could pull from various Inet pages was not so productive. Thanks in advance, Gert

  • www.oldtimer- check.de – Visited old and youngtimers

www.oldtimer -check.de – Visited Old- and Youngtimer Hello! Up to now I was always only a reader in this forum. I own/own several oldtimers myself. With each purchase I always had the same problem under the 99% of all oldtimer buyers suffer: The description of the seller basically never fits with the actual vehicle condition. After several thousand kilometers driven for free and the anger and the anger that you get about it, I have the following Internet data In this database there are only vehicles that have already been visited with a description of their condition. Anyone who has visited a vehicle can also describe his or her impressions of the condition of the vehicle and, with the help of B and B, he or she will be able to find out more about the conditions of the vehicle. http://www.oldtimer -check.de Since the database is only at the very beginning, of course not so many vehicles are included yet. But if everyone helps, it could become in a short time a great support with the vintage car purchase, which one does not want to miss anymore.

  • When does a vintage car start to be an oldi… review!

Hello, Recently I started a thread here with an Opel Kadett E. Then I got from different users hard criticism why I put such an E Kadett into the oldtimer forum. According to the law it does not seem to be a real oldtimer, since not yet 30 years. But if a youngtimer, only modified just. Picture in the appendix. Many probably also remember. Anyway what moves me: where else should one put his Kadett in here? At OPEL? Great. At the latest when it comes to Ne uteile goes like window rubbers, interior cladding and and and it stops with the “talking” because there are simply no parts anymore. Besides, I’ve always been looking for interior cladding parts in blue and upholstery. preferably new seats. So then find the times. I called and asked for every car utilization in the entire postal code area starting with “0” today from morning to afternoon. Nobody had the blue blue! Opel Classic Parts gets somehow nothing on the line. Wait already Mechanic parts still exist a lot. But I see from year to year that the Kadett E is dying increasingly. And if you ask the car users, you only always hear “only last week have had some under the press again” Or if I can hear that I can already howl around. Certainly such a Kadett is no part which is rare, but there are simply spare parts always far too rare. Doesn’t that actually make up an oldtimer? So that’s it for now.

  • The TÜV works with “Callgirls”

I had the pleasure of having to work with the TÜV again today. So, get to the listener, dial the number, take a deep breath and nothing happens. Nothing at all! I didn’t think anything bad and wait, wait, still wait, filled signs! I call the 11880 slightly pissed, get the number and call. The Tüüüv Nord, they talk to Sabine Sabinski, what can I do for them beeped a chick in my ear. I answered; Mr ABCDEFG I would like to have! Jaaaaa?! I want to connect them to the desired station. Great, Callgirl! What the fuck, I have to talk to fucking commpuuters everywhere now, press on phone keys, answer “yes” or “no” and call with call centers? ! That pisses me off slowly but surely. Greetings

  • Crankshaft bearings

At the moment I am trying to restore a small tractor that had been slaughtered a long time ago. I found the engine on the sad rest of a fellow sufferer without a cylinder and piston. The connecting rod of the formerly two-stroke, diesel-stung single cylinder looked out of the open crankcase and brought the crankshaft by hand operation loosely to turn. So I believed myself on the safe side until I hid in the crankcase and in the bearings in the oil soot many gr I discovered sand grains that forced action. Perhaps I now made the mistake of many screwdrivers and began to disassemble the two-part crankcase. When removing housing and bearing from the shaft, two insidiously glued rington bearings appeared from their worst side. I could not stop the process anymore because the housing seal had already suffered and could only be restored after dismantling. Thus, the bearings had to be removed with heat and lost in the process. New bearings of this kind are expensive. Evaporating possibilities offer pendulum roller bearings, but must be fixed in a similar way as the factory-glued ton bearings. So they are an abomination for a flexible screwdriver of my kind. So, and now I come to my question to all patient readers of my article with knowledge about the storage of crankshafts so small diesel two-strokers: Why can I not install two cone roller bearings, which are an simplest demont Is there any reason why the Fa decided 50 years ago to install the expensive ton warehouses? How can I install the warehouses without violence?

  • Questions about fertan

Meal, according to the manufacturer, rust layers up to 5 mm can be treated in one operation. Question: So can it happen that I have a hole afterwards, where thick rust spots were previously sitting? Wouldn’t it be bad, I’m just interested. Is the use of the vehicle in the garage even practical? I can’t suck in the whole garage when rinsing. Or is that not so bad?
