  • E28 vs E30 vs w123

Moin moin all on the other hand, since my Golf CNG spar bush can no longer be on the road, I need a new car. Diesel is unfortunately mandatory, since I do more than 25k KM a year. Hazards are the new sweetheart only on salt-free road, for the winter months it is preserved decently underfloor and hollow space. I mostly drive long distance (Kiel-Berlin or Kiel-Neumünster), which is why comfort is relatively important for me. I would be willing to take up to 10,000 euros in my hand and ask myself which car you would choose for the above-mentioned conditions. Thank you so much and best regards Tom

  • Question about registration with H registration marks

Hello to each other, I would need your help briefly, because I am now really unsure. I have put my concern in the appropriate vehicle forum, but I think that I will certainly find experts here. Specifically it is about my BMW e36 325i with H-mark. I was yesterday with my X at HU. The examiner also carried out this, who gave my 325er the H-mark a few months ago. I then also got it on the registration of original ze his statement was “……cannot be done because the registrations had to have been made within 10 years after EZ.” Note that I have all the papers (part-reports/ABE etc.) contemporary brochures, the car letter (with the meetings of the parts) of the donor vehicle (is a similar 325i and only 4 months younger than my car) and the invoice of the parts from 1992 of the company AC Schnitzer. Do you have similar experiences or tips for me or is the examiner actually right ?? Thanks already and a nice weekend Moosi

  • AC Cobra Replica H – Approval, 07 License plates, normal approval

Hello. I want to buy an AC Cobra Replica in the USA and import it to Germany. I have already found a suitable vehicle for me. My problem: I have now also noticed that it is almost impossible for an AC Cobra Replica to get an H – license plate. After all, it is not a classic car. I have also read the other topics in this forum (e.g. removed H – license plate). My question: How can one allow such a vehicle in Germany, od It’s also about the fact that I don’t have to remodel the Cobra in such a way that the vehicle loses its character. So who knows what needs to be changed about the vehicle so that you can get it registered with a normal license plate. Or is there still a legal possibility (measurement clearance) to get an H license plate? I logically also asked the TÜV. For the vehicle According to TÜV, there is only one H – mark if the frame was older than 30 years and for 20 years no major technical changes were made. Actually logical. For conversion and normal approval could not give me information. Would have been determined in the individual report. Only I do not buy an AC Cobra in the USA, import it and get the vehicle not, or with huge conversion effort approved. Maybe someone here already has experience with it, or still has a few Tips. PS: I didn’t find a suitable vehicle here in Germany that already has an H – license plate. Vehicle data: AC Cobra Superformance 427sc, engine: Ford 402 cid V8 Roush, approx. 515 HP. Sidepipes. Title: 1965, Completed: 2008

Hello! Have the following problem and please ask for help: I’m renewing the braking system of my motorhome. Unfortunately I can’t get any further when ordering the main brake cylinder. Vehicle is a Mercedes 601 D28 RV My vehicle has the following chassis number: 60131618066561 My shop has the following main brake cylinders on offer: Product 1 from chassis number: 614797 Product 2 to chassis number: 649390 Product 3 from chassis number: 649391 The problem: Which of the 3 products fits? In several online shopps I have looked and everywhere the chassis number is 6-digit. Do the last 6 numbers of the chassis number have to be compared or how does it work?? Before I now buy falchen main brake cylinder I prefer to ask for … Thank you

  • One cylinder sets out at FordY year 1934 (almost permanently)

As a freshly baked vintage car owner (Ford Y 6CV, Built 1934, 21 HP, in France built UK model, so 6Volt with PLUS on the body!) I was a few weeks really happy. Until 3 weeks ago the engine runs at once only on 2 or 3 cylinders. By pulling off the ignition cables cylinders 3 and 4 could be found as an evildoer. At downhill, partly one of the two, sometimes even both cylinders came back for a short time. The appearance of the problem was afterward too The problem was that the ignition lock had twisted and the voltage was not really switched on properly – problem is fixed. I don’t know if the one with the other can have something to do. Since then the engine also drips quite a lot of oil, which was not so before. Well, so we have all spark plugs renewed, new ignition cables installed, new V divider cap, distributor fingers changed, compression tested (all 4 cylinders at the same level). But, unfortunately without little success. So, carburetor (Solex 26 AC) opened: float leaks! After a long search a new (!) found, built in. Well, now 3 of 4 cylinders run. Then ignition coil is renewed, and a new carburetor from UK is worried (also new! “Zenith” or replica of it). Replaced – no significant change! So I and the nearby oldtimer workshop What’s more interesting: If you pull off the ignition cables now, then cylinder 1 is the culprit. Dubios is that if you push the spark plug only slightly (only touch the plug with the porcelain body, depending on the position) without contact with the candle contact, the cylinder seems to ignite (speed increases slightly). If you plug the plug completely onto the candle, the effect is gone again. This effect is reproducible. . Can it be a contact problem, mass problem (plus), creep current etc.? Otherwise ideas what else we could/should try? I am very grateful to you about helpful tips! Knut

  • Who celebrates 125 years of woman driving?

The beautiful Bertha drove to Grandma in August 1888. Hmmm Probably the most part of the track was pushed by the “travelling sons” Anyway, this is celebrated.http://bertha-benz-fahrt.de/ We have registered and if our car can make it on our own wheels to Monnem, we will also ride along. More participants present here?? Since only cars are present before 1930, this should be a nice field. Somewhere on the HP is a schedule and also the route to I will report… (among other things, whether the municipal pharmacy in Wiesloch sells Ligroin nowadays). Greetings Christoph

  • Which car is this?

Hello together, to the oldtimer enthusiasts among us, who can tell me what kind of car this is on the pictures? here are two excerpts from a video, shot in 1967 in the northern FRG, if this has helped me already on fiat 850 or an early ford escort, but it doesn’t fit more or less big details at each time… at fiat 850 there were no triangular windows at the back, otherwise there was a lot of similarity. the lettering on the hood is unfortunately also not legible… v ielleicht can help me. would be interesting to learn what was driven in my family at that time, unfortunately nobody can remember… nice evening on everyone’s side!

  • Rejuvenate catalytic converter

Hello, I own a Canadian 1984 BMW 733i, i.e. the USA version, which was originally equipped with a 3-way catalyst. Here you can see how this was built up:http://en.bmwfans.info/…/ The old exhaust system is rusted away, so I had an adapted but not original one installed 2 years ago. The original parts were not to be found. I simply relied on the workshop, but at some point I noticed that there was no Katalysato r is more. Maybe the old one was rusty, but they didn’t say anything either. In any case, no one is there anymore. In Canada, no one cares about this, but even if there are still a few construction sites, I would like to take the car with me when moving to Germany in the fall. But if the Tuev knows that the car had a cat, he will tell it. And even if he takes the German version without Kat as a reference, I don’t get a green environmental badge, if the So a new cat has to be installed. Now the question is what do you do there? I have a few pictures attached to it, the pipes are about 46mm thick. I only read everywhere that Universalkats are Muell, but what else should you install there? Or do I have to adjust myself to the fact that the exhaust system has to be completely re-made again? Thank you already, Michael

  • Transistor ignition sensor

Hello dear community, shortly before our project: We have a Subaru Libero from 1989. The motor wiring harness and all possible ECUs/switches of the ignition are missing. We have a ignition distributor that fits into the engine, but also do not know if it is a regular part of the model or maybe comes from a successor model. According to the manual a transistor ignition should be installed. The ignition distributor has a vacuum adjustment (which also on a transistor We have now installed the Vellemann K2543 ignition system to bypass all original cabling and switch/control unit. If you want to connect the connection contact to the sensor or to a breaker directly to the ground, there is also a spark of ignition. The sensor which is installed in the ignition distributor (2 cables) provides however obviously no ignition. The correct signal (the resistance between the two contacts changes, but it does not switch completely against mass like an interrupter). Which sensor we would need here, the so we need (like an interrupter contact) and also only works with the metal nocke without extra magnets. We once tried an initiator, but he immediately gave up the mind. The few revolutions he held, he did what he should. I don’t really know what to do. e function of a transistor ignition. Ideally we could still use the existing sensor, missing and perhaps still still a switching device or similar? Would a pre-resistance help, so that a sensor may not burn through? Unfortunately, I really don’t get through this ignition anymore, because everything I think does not work logically. I am really grateful for any help! We don’t want to just buy all new (used) parts but with the existing ones. Parts (or with a few new ones) build a functional ignition. We are also happy to adapt existing parts so that the whole becomes functional.

  • Yellow headlights allowed?

French cars had yellow headlights until the beginning of the 80s (in France ). I always assumed that yellow headlights were forbidden in Germany, so that one had to convert to white in order to get a German registration. Today, however, I saw a Peugeot 504 with German approval, which had yellow headlights, and a total of 4 additional headlights. Two of them were also yellow and two white. Are yellow headlights allowed after all?
