Export vintage cars without papers
Hello I have a very special concern. I bought an old London bus. This one has only served as a “decoration” so far and was therefore never registered in Germany. That’s why the previous owner has no papers for this vehicle. He has no papers at all, nothing he bought it that way at the time. Now the question arises, if I want to export it, how do I best do this without vehicle papers? (Later at the border this would become a problem.) In the meantime, I have found that you can apply for papers again. But how is that if the bus was never registered? Then the registration office has virtually never issued a certificate, so it can not issue a new one, especially if the vehicle is miles away from the TÜV. Can someone help me there? Does anyone have any experience with it? Lg

Strange electrical problem
Hello, with my Porsche 928 (year of construction `78 ) there is suddenly a funny electrical problem. If you turn the ignition key over (batterie 80 Ah from Bosch is new) no indicator light goes on. Instead the speedometer goes very slowly up to 140, stops briefly and then goes just as slowly back to 0. – At the same time the oil pressure indicator goes up. But it stays up. Even after you have turned the ignition key back again. – After a hit on the instrument carrier She falls to 0 and stays there. What can be the cause?

07- and H-plates alternately
Hello together, after I move almost all of my classic cars with 07-marks, but especially in the summer would like to drive often also purpose-free e.g. into the work or on vacation, I wonder if there is a way, the advantages of 07-marks (quasi no kfz taxes, insurance contributions given) could connect with the advantages of the black H-season mark.. (Free travel where I want to go (among other things abroad) Say: In high season with black registration plates, and in the low season then nevertheless with my 07 registration mark e.g. the workshop or still still on a meeting can drive.. According to FZV speak m.E.n. first nothing against: § 16 FZV rides with red registration plate para. 1 sentence 3 A vehicle, to which according to § 9 paragraph 3 a season registration mark is assigned, may be put into operation outside the operating period according to the sentences 1 and 2, if the season registration mark is not kept at the same time. r Registration office would be able to do this, but I would have to re-register each car individually 2x/year (including fees), which is of course not in question. I think that many years ago I read here about this construct, but can’t find the thread anymore.. Do you perhaps have an idea or experience? Greeting Hansi

who wants to restore his oldtimer himself and has no place?
Hello people, since you are tired of repairing or restoring your old or youngtimer in your small garage or even in a dirty hobby workshop? I would like to create a place here in or around Munich where you can not only place your cars, but also work on them. my presentation would be similar to a hobby workshop, but with other clientele and above all clean, with proper tools, instruction by master and own lockable screw I would look forward to your reactions here, any suggestions, ideas of prices, etc. this is for the time being a question, since I would like to wait for your resonance first in order to be able to obtain an overview of size and cost.

Oldtimer insurance with over 9000Km/year find, or alternative possible ?
Hello guys. I want to let a 190 from 1985 as “H” (he was already ). Tax-wise I want to let him run as a classic car, is a 2.0D, would not mean quite 200 Euro a year. Insurance-wise I look for an oldi insurance with which you can drive more than 9000Km, possibly first unrestricted. Is there after many discussions here in the past an insurance which can be recommended ? I have read where there is also the possibility to use the oldtimer “normal” I can tax the old car with the tax of 191 euros a year. So can you tax the old car independently of the insurance as a old car? Please give me a few tips, am in despair just because of the max. km running performance of only max 900-010,000 km/J. best thanks Greez Micha

Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Motor Dies
Hi, we have an Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale from 1974. He hasn’t started for some time now. After replacing the petrol pump and the petrol filter he starts again. He starts, but as soon as you go off the gas he starts again. Also before he bucks and jerks. There is also sometimes a misignition. Does anyone have a tip for me what that can be? Thank you very much!

Ask for your opinion, keep it or separate it?
Hello, I have the following problem about which I would like to hear your opinion. I have stored my Golf II (my first car, with which I was travelling 14 years) in a barn almost 8 months ago for a later restoration. I realize that it will never have the material value of a rare “real” vintage car, which is about / was not my concern either. The car has an ideal value for me, for which I was / would be willing to invest. Anyway, I was in today’s The barn, which I had considered to be well ventilated, turned out to be a damp place, where it apparently rains through and the moisture does not seem to pull off well. Anyway, I came in there and struck it right at me and the ground was still a little wet, although it hasn’t rained for a few days. In short: my car has mold inside and the engine and partly also the sheets, which still have to be turned off. I would like to know from you now – which you probably hang on to old cars and maybe also can better assess such situations by your previous experiences – whether you can get the car back or whether it is more useful to say goodbye to him / my oldie dream. If you say it looks worse than it is, I would quickly after another pla I would be grateful if you would look at the photos and tell me your opinion. I have always dreamed of rebuilding this car once again, but if you think it is impossible, maybe it would be better to break up. I didn’t think that even 8 months of damage could be caused by the car, but if you thought it was impossible, then it would be better to break up. Thank you.

3D printing for spare parts / modding
Hi guys, I’m interested in the topic of 3D printing in classic cars. I’m creating CAD models in my spare time and wondering if I’m in need of them. Imagine someone modeling cheaply (let’s say 10€ an hour), would you use such an offer? The software is so good today that you can create 3D models very quickly. In addition, I’m wondering if every vehicle type has a few parts that are needed more often and it’s worth it once a 3D model. Create a model and replicate it afterwards? Thanks for your ideas Volker

Serial number for Zippo lifting platform – how much game of the lifting mother?
Hello, have an old ZIPPO 2-pillar lifting platform (with chain box). Did you buy from the widow of the previous owner, who screwed it around in his garages at his Meredes. The lifting platform probably dates back to the 70s. Unfortunately, the type plate is no longer available. Question: Is there anywhere on the columns or wherever a serial number hit? The free running follow-up nuts (security nuts) can hardly move up or sideways. tern (tragnuts) already a lot of game (sideally as well as – in case of relieved lift sledge – also upwards). How much game is “normal” or still tolerant with the liftnuts (tragnuts)? Maybe I have to replace the liftnuts soon, which is why the exact type of the stage would be of course important. Thank you for your help! Greeting Andreas
