  • who wants to restore his oldtimer himself and has no place?

Hello people, since you are tired of repairing or restoring your old or youngtimer in your small garage or even in a dirty hobby workshop? I would like to create a place here in or around Munich where you can not only place your cars, but also work on them. my presentation would be similar to a hobby workshop, but with other clientele and above all clean, with proper tools, instruction by master and own lockable screw I would look forward to your reactions here, any suggestions, ideas of prices, etc. this is for the time being a question, since I would like to wait for your resonance first in order to be able to obtain an overview of size and cost.

  • Oldtimer insurance with over 9000Km/year find, or alternative possible ?

Hello guys. I want to let a 190 from 1985 as “H” (he was already ). Tax-wise I want to let him run as a classic car, is a 2.0D, would not mean quite 200 Euro a year. Insurance-wise I look for an oldi insurance with which you can drive more than 9000Km, possibly first unrestricted. Is there after many discussions here in the past an insurance which can be recommended ? I have read where there is also the possibility to use the oldtimer “normal” I can tax the old car with the tax of 191 euros a year. So can you tax the old car independently of the insurance as a old car? Please give me a few tips, am in despair just because of the max. km running performance of only max 900-010,000 km/J. best thanks Greez Micha

  • Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Motor Dies

Hi, we have an Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale from 1974. He hasn’t started for some time now. After replacing the petrol pump and the petrol filter he starts again. He starts, but as soon as you go off the gas he starts again. Also before he bucks and jerks. There is also sometimes a misignition. Does anyone have a tip for me what that can be? Thank you very much!

  • Ask for your opinion, keep it or separate it?

Hello, I have the following problem about which I would like to hear your opinion. I have stored my Golf II (my first car, with which I was travelling 14 years) in a barn almost 8 months ago for a later restoration. I realize that it will never have the material value of a rare “real” vintage car, which is about / was not my concern either. The car has an ideal value for me, for which I was / would be willing to invest. Anyway, I was in today’s The barn, which I had considered to be well ventilated, turned out to be a damp place, where it apparently rains through and the moisture does not seem to pull off well. Anyway, I came in there and struck it right at me and the ground was still a little wet, although it hasn’t rained for a few days. In short: my car has mold inside and the engine and partly also the sheets, which still have to be turned off. I would like to know from you now – which you probably hang on to old cars and maybe also can better assess such situations by your previous experiences – whether you can get the car back or whether it is more useful to say goodbye to him / my oldie dream. If you say it looks worse than it is, I would quickly after another pla I would be grateful if you would look at the photos and tell me your opinion. I have always dreamed of rebuilding this car once again, but if you think it is impossible, maybe it would be better to break up. I didn’t think that even 8 months of damage could be caused by the car, but if you thought it was impossible, then it would be better to break up. Thank you.

  • 3D printing for spare parts / modding

Hi guys, I’m interested in the topic of 3D printing in classic cars. I’m creating CAD models in my spare time and wondering if I’m in need of them. Imagine someone modeling cheaply (let’s say 10€ an hour), would you use such an offer? The software is so good today that you can create 3D models very quickly. In addition, I’m wondering if every vehicle type has a few parts that are needed more often and it’s worth it once a 3D model. Create a model and replicate it afterwards? Thanks for your ideas Volker

  • Serial number for Zippo lifting platform – how much game of the lifting mother?

Hello, have an old ZIPPO 2-pillar lifting platform (with chain box). Did you buy from the widow of the previous owner, who screwed it around in his garages at his Meredes. The lifting platform probably dates back to the 70s. Unfortunately, the type plate is no longer available. Question: Is there anywhere on the columns or wherever a serial number hit? The free running follow-up nuts (security nuts) can hardly move up or sideways. tern (tragnuts) already a lot of game (sideally as well as – in case of relieved lift sledge – also upwards). How much game is “normal” or still tolerant with the liftnuts (tragnuts)? Maybe I have to replace the liftnuts soon, which is why the exact type of the stage would be of course important. Thank you for your help! Greeting Andreas

  • Car hire from private rental for weddings?

Hello together! I have already Googled extensively and also searched here, but find no “satisfying” answer to my question: I own a beautiful old vehicle, which I would like to rent or lend occasionally for weddings or similar events. But: – What does this look like legally? Do I have to register a business for it? As I said, I only want to do this occasionally on the WE. – What does this look like insurance-technically, I then transport foreign persons? We – How can I do “advertising” for it if it is not a business? – What can I ask for it, without the tax evasion being attached to me? 🙂 I have heard (that’s exactly the point, heard, not read and certainly not any documents about it) that if you do this only “inconveniently”, no business needs for it, as long as the “price” for it is only a cost compensation… Say: drive at times a wedding and “only” S price money and what to set up the vehicle for the wedding… Is that true? To the vehicle: an old London taxi Would be nice if one or the other had a tip or link for me! Thanks already and now: discussion free! Greetings Chris

  • Starter doesn’t always sprint a……

It is about a MAZDA RX-7, construction year: 06/1985, current km-Stand 73,300…. so first generation. The following error occurs rarely, say with every 10th start attempt: The starter spins empty, does not sprint. I have checked or changed the following: – battery is almost new – the thick plus line or the connections pole terminals, starter connection are clean and fixed – Since the magnetic switch is not disassembled, it has been renewed – the starter has been disassembled, cleaned, collector pole The starter bolt has no defects – the flywheel has nothing to recognize – the line from the ignition lock to the magnet switch is error-free Nevertheless the same error ! What I don’t understand is the function of the “one-track and holding coil”, when only ONE cable goes from the ignition lock to the magnet switch. What I haven’t checked yet: the full voltage at the magnet switch arrives…… What could be your answer? am I still to blame ?

  • (OT) Purchase of used car from dealer

Hello together, I have a problem that does not directly have to do with vintage cars, but maybe one or the other knows about it, since it has already happened to him: The following situation: You want to buy a (older) used one from a dealer, but he does not want to take over any warranty for more or less understandable reasons and therefore writes in the purchase contract an additional a la ‘sale to reseller’. 1. Does this really protect the seller from eventu Is it possible that I may have to provide proof of the commercial use of the vehicle or even pay VAT if I use the car privately as planned? Many thanks and happy Easter thunderbolts

  • Fine dust badge

Day together, says someone the days happened like me? I with my Mercedes W 123, 230 E to the registration office and finally registered again. After he has come through TÜV and AU without complaint. Does the question come to the end also want the fine dust badge? I yes and how can it go on?–> Not at all the 9991 is not listed and therefore no badge!!! Now to the data, my 230 E is 1982 and was equipped in 1991 with a G-cat. I have no idea now? Tell me what do you do it?? Thanks and greets TE
