  • Battery trainer

Hello, let’s ask you a question: What are the differences between battery trainers and which would you recommend? I have a maintenance-free battery and through the encapsulation (the maintenance-free) I always have the fear that when charging it comes to explosion due to cracking gas formation… I know someone expert who this has happened, and he was allowed to be a guest at the accident clinic for 1 week… So watch out and always clamp the battery with + and – on, and then first the power plug into the Power outlet, but I’m talking about a battery trainer… dsu

  • Condition 1 and AHK retrofitting?

Hello! Can the retrofitting of a coupling with condition 1 be agreed? And if yes: What must be considered? I ask here because my Mazda 323F is treated like a classic car and the preservation of condition 1 is very important to me. Nevertheless, I would like to pull a caravan (Tabbert Comtesse BJ 1978) with it. If necessary, I also agree to make changes if they are absolutely residue-free. MfG Meehster

  • Does a car last over 20 years?

Is it worth keeping a car alive for more than 20 years? I don’t know what the financial situation of you looks like. I can’t and don’t want to afford a new car every 10 years. So I’ve been driving old cars for years until they’ve rusted through. In recent years, I’ve had to find the used car has become disproportionately expensive. Furthermore, the modern vehicles with their high amount of electronics can only be repaired by professional workshops and whether or not a car can be repaired. if the electronic ET ́s still exist in 15 years, is an open question. Let’s assume, I am looking for a car from the 80’s or 90’s. Little electonics, little rust. Has one of you had personal experience, whether a car can withstand even more than 15 years of use despite care? Is this financially worthwhile? My vehicle: GOLF 3 suction diesel, 350 TKm, everything still possible, rust is slowly becoming a problem.

  • Marten protection for storage room sought

Hello Motor – Talker ! Unfortunately there is an animal () problem in my garage for the oldtimers. In a routine check in the old iron warehouse I had to make an unsightly discovery: there were on the wonderful row hexane M123 of MB crumbled egg shells. Well, the engine likes petrol rather than the chicken products and is therefore not in question. The find happened at Easter and therefore also the Easter bunny came into suspicion. Since the eggs were not so colorfully painted however, mu The storage room stands in the country and unfortunately offers a few loopholes for slim and small bodies, which cannot be stuffed. With the Magnum I do not like to lurk, holes in the holy tin I want to avoid. What is recommended and effective? This device was recommended to me. Does anyone know this? Questions about questions, maybe someone can help me. Dear Gruss 124er Kombi

  • Car ( VW Golf 2 ) store several years in dry garage, what should you pay attention to ?

Greetings to the community, I know it’s been chewed through several times, would still be grateful if one or the other had some tips for me it’s about a VW Golf 2 built in 1990, 1.6 / 51kw / 69PS. I could of course also sell the car to the first best for a few 100€ but for that he is too bad for me especially since it was my first car never let me down and was always a loyal companion. Therefore my question what should I consider before I put it for longer e Time put in a garage, I have planned to gradually put it back in a good original condition and in a few years then sell it to someone who is there with heart blood inside. I would think that should be enough for the first text, I am grateful for all the answers.

  • [Cadillac Series 62 1959] Help with conversion alternator generator –> Alternator

Hello all, I had a bit of bad luck last year with my Cadillac Series 62 built in 1959. – Engine damage… Meanwhile the engine is finished and runs again, shortly before installation we had to change the ignition coil, because the old the storage did not survive and run out. After the engine was back in the vehicle came the next trouble the old generator (direct current) has probably given up the mind, it delivers 0 voltage Since I now have to invest money again I want to immediately change to an alternator with integrated controller, in the best case a conversion into the old housing or a housing that looks similar to the old one. Can you give me tips where I get the necessary parts for the conversion or a corresponding Lima at a fair price? The only thing I found so far was the “Powermaster PowerGEN” in the states to significantly over 450$ the piece… Thanks and Greetings Power

  • Beetle 1776 which oil for inlet phase

Hi Käferfreunde, I have finished my engine so far and would like to venture a test run. Data of the engine: 1776 ccm Scat C25 camshaft compaction approx. 9.0 oil pump with in/outlet and oil filter serial carburettor Would like to run the engine on a carrier to see if everything fits. Thought with the test run at ignition time setting and a short inlet phase of 10-15 min at 2000 rpm. I don’t want to open an oil discussion here but “only” know what is going on for the inlet phase Would you like to drive the engine later with 5W-40 Synt.. But I heard something, that you should use a 10W-40 partlyynt. and without MOS2 to not extend the inlet phase even further. Have the following oil there: 10W-40 partial synnt. from Total 10W-40 partial synnt. Light running oil with MOS2 from Liqui Moly 5W-40 Synt. from Total 125ml MOS2 Additv from Liqui Moly I don’t know if it makes a big difference at all, but I ask now just, maybe yes j emand experience with it or can justify why one is better at the beginning than the other for the later operation. Would I be pleased with answers. Thank you and greetings Philipp
