After many years I think about making my dream car myself. Can you call me a few manufacturers of kits with which you have had experience, or which you can recommend?

Market price Mercedes-Benz W123 Coupe
Hello together! I would like to buy a Mercedes-Benz W123 Coupe, preferably a 230 CE or 280 CE. In addition to a technically usable condition, a mileage of not more than 200,000 km as well as an intact body without large rusting points are important to me. The saddle grade should not be worse than 3. Has someone experience with such a vehicle and can give me tips on what to pay special attention to (weaknesses) and what a realistic price for r can be a 30-year-old vehicle? Thank you in advance for your feedback!

In-flow oil filters
Hello, I would like to install a secondary flow oil filter in my oldi. Of course not to extend the oil exchange intervals, but because the vehicle does not have a reasonable oil filter in the main current (only has a wire split filter). Now there are different suppliers of such a thing, mostly small unknown companies, but also the filter giant MANN offers fine filter elements for the secondary current. Is there actually great difference in effectiveness? I am sure that I will still get filter elements in 20 years’ time, maybe there are no other small suppliers anymore. Best regards, Bernhard

Methods for permanent folding-rust elimination sought
My question also refers to less historic vehicles – but they rust like a Frenchman from the 70s… On the pictures you can see how it rusts out of the fold. This fold represents the overlap with which parts of a wheelhouse are dotted together. Probably also in some places not only 2, but several sheets are frowned together. And then especially thick and auc h perfects various layers of carross and anti-drying compounds. Serially. Now the question is what to do in order to maintain the cart in the long term. Do I first tear away the whole batch with a rotating wire brush, brush and then grind as well as it goes away the rust ? Then still rust remains between the sheets in the fold. If I treat them with wax or grease (Mc Sanders or something), the subsequent painting does not make any fun at all. How is it with Fertan e tc. ? The stuff has to be removed after the effect again. How do you get it out of the fold ? When I open the fold, cut it open to remove any rust, then the whole front car is a construction site . A lot of stuff has to be out – if not the whole engine . And either I do it step by step or the box has to be fixed on a car body bench . No matter how, a pleasure it is certainly not . Maybe you have some suggestions for me … The rust parker PS : The data sticker w It’s made out of courtesy to the vehicle manufacturer, this dumpster, unrecognizable.

Citroen SM with Maserati motor
Hello car enthusiast, Recently a Citroen SM was on the highway in front of me and I enjoyed the sight. I would be interested in who has ever driven a Citroen SM with Maseratimotor or even today still owns one. How are they traded today? I know the current market prices but they are mostly unrealistic. I don’t want to buy one but I would still like to know from you if they are really as vulnerable as their reputation or if all this is just Gossip is ? Next to the DS (Goddess) the SM is for me the most beautiful Citroen of all times. Thanks and greetings to all car lovers. Andi

Silicone Brake Fluid
It was always the same problem after the summer break: the disc brakes of the Ro80 were fixed after 1X brakes. Since 8 cylinders are working here, the system is not free-run “on its own”. Even if the expansion is relatively easy, that doesn’t have to be. The British, where motorsport is higher than football, who have been using silicone brake fluid on their plentiful wet island for years. Compulsory for the military. Because Silicon Fluid is not hygroscopic, nothing rusts either. It’s expensive to buy, but it’s worth it. It’s no longer fixed, even after a long service life. However, all the cuffs should be renewed beforehand. There’s still the old broth that can’t cope with silicone. The things spring up and have almost no effect. There’s no indication of this on the part of the manufacturers. It’s just British. Either, you know the thing and you can handle it or not. Otherwise, I’m not sure about it. full of praise about this fluid. A test over 20 years, with positive result, that can convince. Salutations mm

Protect foamed dashboard from cracks
Hello, how best to protect the foamed dashboards against cracking (in my case Ford Capri) ? In many vehicles of the 70s and 80s these dashboards were installed, the problem should be known. Over time the things crack up, accelerated by solar radiation. Partially I cover (my still quite well preserved) dashboard, if the vehicle stands for example at an event longer in the bounced sun, but there is no “miracle with” which plasticizers or whatever is missing get into the material again? I don’t want to use leather as it is often done, it’s not the first choice to glue the cracks with Smart Repair, there will probably be cracks elsewhere.

Prezel Beetle, buy?
Hello, I’m not a VW expert, although I think old bullis (T1) and beetles are really great. I was recently offered a pretzels (see http://www.cwoern.de/brezel/brezel.htm), of which I only know that it has been restored, built in February 53 in Germany, 1200 machine, 6V, complete and ready to drive. Hooks on the thing, the car has to be imported to D. It should cost me 10400 Euros. Is it worth it? How much can you do for a pretzels di If we assume that the condition is an honest 3? I would be happy about a few answers.

1973 Alfa Romeo from Africa
Hello together! I wanted to buy some classic for a long time, but unfortunately my money is only enough for so-A-to-B cucumbers. However, I have now learned from a relative that he still has a sweetheart standing around in Namibia. The car is an Alfa Romeo 2000 Berlina, EZ 10/73 and in TOP condition. Kunsttück, in the weather rusts there nothing, and the car was only on Sundays between garage and church in the last 20 years 🙂 Has so 120tkm on it, unfortunately is it’s not the GTV that I find visually more beautiful sondner halt of the 4doors. And there from Africa: right-hand handlebars. Now I wonder, what is such a car worth here? The overpass costs think about the 2000 EUR, but I have no idea what to expect about customs, registration etc. Maybe I can convert the car into cash and buy what suits me better? Because I don’t appreciate the original condition so much, maybe someone at Oldie-meetings with other species should I am interested in the optics and the character, if there is the original radio in it I don’t care, and I would like to replace for example a fabric equipment with leather. (The car has leather as far as I know). So – is it worth selling? Or still drive yourself ? What do you mean ? Am like said oldie newcomer, especially in the Alfa Romeo area. Oh yes – I don’t have photos yet, but should come soon if anyone is interested.
