Hello ! I hope someone here has already had the same experiences as me and maybe can give me a few tips. Yesterday I was at the TÜV for full acceptance with my Jaguar MK2 340 year 68. 10 years I worked on it, the whole vehicle disassembled, was restored just my big dream. Now everything is perfect (I thought) so from the TÜV. Technically everything was fine, even in the original condition, but I don’t get the H-mark,because the car shortly after the 1st Zu I also got it from England and I only got the papers saying that the day of the registration was in 89 when it came back to the country. At the TÜV I was told that the Jag would now be classified as an 89 year of construction and I needed a cat for an approval without an H-mark My Jag is one of the last of his series and no one thought of Kat 68 yet… So I can get him It’s not even normal to register because it’s not possible to work up the list of defects, since most of it wasn’t invented at all. It’s all about that for an H-mark from the day of the 1st registration until today 30 years have passed, because I can’t prove it, my dream is now a pile of junk! I can only put my car in the garage and look at who has similar experiences or knows advice for me? h here someone could teach where the meaning lies in these regulations. Thank you & greetings…Leslie

Sunday car for screwing (learning)
Hello everyone! I’m here from the beautiful Switzerland. I’d like to get a second car. I want to combine two wishes with this one. I’d like to learn how to screw on cars (have a little idea but never put my own hand) and get a Sunday car. One must be: – Petrol switch – Hand switch – Enough spare parts – Simpler to screw (don’t shy away from some challenge, but should be feasible at home in the garage) – Price up to 10’000 Euro/CHF Would be nice: Youngtimer/something classic and fun driving (e.g. a tour through the Alps over mountain passes) I am looking for recommendations, especially from the point of view of screwdrivers and people with experience. I would be very grateful.

Bugatti Replika has been standing since 15 J.
Hello, my dad left me a Bugatti replica. I’m certainly not a big screwdriver, but I just tried to get this thing to run today. Fuel with add-on, spark plugs checked, bridged … He also cranked quite well, but didn’t jump on. Then I found out that somewhere on the left carburetor was really drinking gasoline. It also lasted a while until it stopped. However, the petrol line was dry until the connection to the carburetor. Right Because of the narrowness I could not correctly determine the exact location of the petrol exit. Is there a typical car explanation for this? I would like to keep the car, because it has a high memory value for me. Nevertheless I can not put in large sums or a lot of talent. For a tip I would therefore be very DANKBAR!!! VG

Remove rust on sheet metal parts to be painted
Hello, I know, old hat…. So at least a thousand times already asked and answered. And there is already the problem, 1000 questions – 1000 answers… Besides some already >10 years old and many products are already out of environmental protection already not easy. The following starting position: We have a about 50 year old tent trailer and the stood, health-related, many years in our old screw hall in the corner, this year we want to get rid of it again, unfortunately the box from outside completely covered with small rust pimples. I have now made one of the surfaces with CSD disc and afterwards with an exenter grinder blank, but there are still very small rust nests over. My first thought and because still what was there was Fertan, today I washed it off again and already after easy grinding came new rust under the phosphate layer to the appearance. So nothing. This is not to be a top restoration now, just so that you can trust yourself with it among people kan n and it doesn’t start to gammel again. Completely grind down and radiate away, because it is only very thin sheet metal, think so in the range 0.5mm. Does anyone have experiences like I should attack there best? Acid? The whole should also remain financially within the appropriate framework, has finished also only a value of a few hundred euros. I still take pictures. Greetings, Marc

Old-timer, automatic and first-time car?
Okay, where do I start… Please be friendly I don’t know about cars. As a student who has a very long way to university I think slowly that it’s time for a car. But I have incredibly fallen in love with the Porsche 944 but also cars like Nissan 200sx. I think I like the fliplights above all and simply the shape both are very similar already. By the way, I find very few offers to Nissan can tell me something? Both are oldtimers and I have Here and there automatics and classic cars are not good… I would prefer an automatics. My second question would be, is a classic car even recommended as a first car? What about safety measures? Airbag, Navi etc. ? I have always driven our family car a Hyundai i30 switch if it is important. Would be very grateful for people who know each other thank you!

Why aren’t more vintage cars being reissued?
Jaguar produces the D-Type: http://www.sueddeutsche.de/…/…ml-dpa-com-20090101-160323-99-327742 Aston Martin does similar things: http://www.auto-news.de/…/…ation-reprint-of-a-legend_id_39441 (unfortunately only for the race track) Why is something similar not done more often? If Mercedes would re-build the 300 SL, for example – they could ask for any price, so it shouldn’t fail, right? One more step: couldn’t one take legendary bodies? n and build the rest as a modern car with all the amenities of today? Corvette C3, E-Type… Sure, you would have to change a lot for passenger and pedestrian protection, for example. But the hood of the E-Type looks pretty pedestrian friendly, for example? But there would be no hurdles that would not regulate money, wouldn’t there? Wouldn’t it be nice to see these “eye-catchers” more often?

” He must walk first. “
I have a Porsche 928, which has stood for years. When it was started the last time several years ago, it did not run optimally. He is standing with an acquaintance. He has his private screwdriver workshop on his site ( older gentleman, had learned in the 60s by BMW KFZ – mechanic ). I want to now ( first in stand ) to run the car and then slowly bring it back to the road. – Everywhere you hear and read, you should have a car, which stood for a long time has gently brought to life. That’s why I suggested to him (it’s a good idea for him to do what the car is already with him, he also has a lot of time) to make an oil change (in the back of my mind I still have a spark plug check and maybe before the first start to turn the engine by hand ). When changing oil before the first start attempt he weighs off and says: “He has to run “. . What about such a setting to hold ? Would also one of the You’re going to get that kind of thing? (Sorry for the long text ). Edit : There’s been no oil change in the car for an infinite number of years. He knows that too.

Request for Renault Oldtimer identification
Hello dear members, we have recently found a Renault in the barn, but cannot identify it. The details of the owner are listed below, but are probably not true: Year of construction: 1935 or 1936 3.8l engine capacity with 36 hp It is certain, however, that the car has a 6 cylinder engine and is extremely rare. It was even suspected by an expert who came from France that this vehicle in France no longer I hope to find some Renault experts who can say what kind of car we’ve found! Unfortunately, the pictures don’t look so good, we’re going to put the car on a better scene soon. Best regards, Christian

Price question Ponton 219 W105
Hello! I would have a question about a pontoon 219, which is offered to me and would know your esteemed opinion. The car is made of 2nd hand (since 1977 in 2nd hand), EZ 1958 in DB040 black. No sliding roof etc.! The car has been extensively restored, painted from the sheet metal on new with 9 lacquer layers. All chrome parts have been newly chromed. All seals are new, the engine has been overhauled. The steering gear is new, the axles and all parts overhauled or new. The grill was also bought “new”. It is equipped with a stainless steel exhaust system. The vehicle is unwelded. Since the restoration 7,000 km ran since 2006. Now to the interior. It has red leather seats with a 54-year-old patina. However, it does not look gammelig. Still the original rubber rash on the ground. The sky is also original and shows just that it has its best times behind it. In the car there is a lot of love to the detail. It was over 14 years ago. Is the car worth about 25,000 EUR? According to my research there are very few comparison vehicles, as the 219 is really rare. What would I have to invest for a new sky with a professional? I would be very grateful about your feedback! Best regards Jan

Does anyone here know painters in Eastern Europe who work reliably?
Hello, it’s about the painting of a VW T3 camper, an original joker from 1984. I would like to receive the car, but a paint in D for 1500.- Euro blows the economic frame. Does anyone know a company in Eastern Europe (Poland or something) that makes it reliable and cheap? And maybe has references that prove this? Here are two pictures of the car:http://i6.ebayimg.com/04/i/08/9b/36/8d_1.JPGhttp://i13.ebayimg.com/06/i/08/96/91/ec_1.JPG The car is driving without problems ready. Thanks and greeting Kai
