  • Antachen des Oldtimer durch Besucher auf Ausstellung / Meeting / Treffen

Hello everybody, I often go to old-timer meetings. Now I have the feeling that the cars are more and more often touched by the visitors. So far so good. But if it’s ladies with freshly creamed hands, who can be photographed in front of a car and put their hand on the freshly polished varnish or they are children who tear around the Emily at the Rolls-Royce, the hat line goes up. Just last weekend experienced. There is partly on the (not eigenige) Ne) car located, best still with the belly and the belt buckle… And if you say something then you are still looked at stupidly and puffed up…. 3 years ago in my Fiat (unrestored, 56 years old with 54’000km… My absolute baby, because in the dreamlike condition) a dent pressed in with such a photo action…. No excuse and after detecting suddenly disappeared and no longer findable…. With me was also the said 5-year-old and the Rolls Royce… Ha b the parents pointed out that they should call your son back and inform: Foreign property is not harmed ….. Answer of the father: “Isn’t still a child, don’t have yourself like that…” Then I am really unbelieving in the salad…. How do you handle it? With slowly passing away the desire for meetings with foreign audiences….

  • Audi S2 – is this going to be a classic car?

Hello, I’m new here, which is due to the fact that I had nothing to do with vintage cars so far. I have a question to which there is certainly no clear answer. Therefore I am grateful for many opinions! I have a 16-year-old Audi S2. He is still very neat on the outside with his 130T Km and has parking fully equipped. But with a consumption of 14 liters and so some things that need to be directed (small rust spots, brakes, various Ele ktronik) and with the knowledge that the Turbo does not always work perfectly it is now time to say goodbye, since the child seat soon does not fit anymore … After I and my wife are very attached to the car, but I am not a “car screwdriver” now the question arises: is there a realistic hope that our car will become a “pleasant” old-timer in 14 years, which one can get at a reasonable cost? We have a TG parking space left, but I don’t even know how It is not about making a big profit in a few years, but whether there are possibilities to get and operate such a car as a classic car in a reasonable setting and to spend the effort of 14 years waiting time? Thank you for your opinion.

  • Apal L Construction instructions

Hello together, I’m new here and hope someone can help me. I have an Apal L buggy and would have to go to the tank installed in the front, because I suspect that the seal of the tanker is leaking. The car smells of gasoline, but it doesn’t come out of the overflow. Unfortunately, the hood under which the tank sits is firmly installed. The edges to the fenders to and from the fornt window, are apparently glued with Sikaflex. Whether this hood is underclamped in the area of the windshield I don’t want to have to dismantle the windshield. If someone knows how best to get this hood off, I would be very grateful for the help. Thank you in advance! Greetings Thomas

  • Problem H License plate, Fgstnr. does not fit

Hello from Dresden ! Have a quite big problem ! Have built me a Moskvich 412 from 1977 ! I presented it yesterday for full acceptance incl. H license plate review ! Result : Everything in order and suitable, except that the coach has a different chassis number ! I was told when buying this would be no problem ! Well ! Nice crap, a pile of work and money beat up ! Well, was today at the registration office and they told me , I needed a proof for this ! by some previous owner ! The car had 2 previous owners in Berlin, but I can’t find them (dead, moved etc.) ! Now my question : What now ?? What can I do now to let the car still be called Oldi ? Would be great , if someone could give me a tip ! MfG Starpeople44

  • Question of faith, remodeling or original condition

Hello municipality, Now, so shortly after Easter I would like to ask here a question of faith. My darling is first registration ́72, was until ́02 first hand vehicle, and then was acquired by me about a year ago. The car was always groped and to my knowledge never had to sleep (perhaps as a very young rare time) outdoors. It is in a very well maintained original condition, also the first coat is still fine, for its double full age definitely, but I know cars, which And now my problem: in March 1980 the first owner had a glass roof retrofitted. The work is neat, and the roof is dense. However, I am an originality freak, that’s why the glass roof bothers me. However, a rearrangement would result in a repainting (of course in the original color) and that would be, in addition to the money question, a pity for the paint. So, now I have my crush. What would you do? I am looking forward to your views Greetings and a beautiful, finally sunny, weekend Elcoupe, who hopes that now also the residual salt will disappear from the streets.

  • Everyday tauglicity Mercedes S-Class 1966

Hello, I’m offered a cheaper Mercedes 250 SE from 1966. Oil consumption is 0.5 liters per 1000 km. Condition is VERY good according to the age. Consumption according to the seller is 11 liters per 100 km. Can one still move such a vehicle in everyday life (but not winter with snow) or is that too risky. It must be very reliable. What do you think about it? MfG Lucas Jensen

  • MAG welding devices

Hello, even if I don’t have a classic car, I think that my concern is most likely to be here. At the moment I change the outside sleepers of my passat and use the welding device of an acquaintance. Slowly the desire to own a MAG welding machine matures in me. Since I will not use it often now, it should be quite inexpensive. I would like something portable, since now I don’t have my own garage. I just want to have thin body plates every now and then. For thicker things I can also use a welding transformer. Now I have looked here and there in DIY stores and at Conrad and have come across devices of the company Einhell. When searching the Internet I have heard very controversial opinions. Now I am very unsure. Can anyone say anything about this? I also found a device from Metabo (MIG/MAG 140): Setting range (230 V): 30 – 140 A Control: 4 levels Weldable wire: 0.6 – 0.8 mm Weldable materia lstärke: 0.5 – 3 mm Max. turn-on time at 25 °C: 7 % Max. turn-on time at 40 °C: 4 % Weight: 26 kg What do you think of this? Would that be something for me as a hobby user? Do you know that? Thank you in advance.
