  • Who has ever or would like to participate in a vintage car exit ?

Oldtimer Rally Hi, guys! With us in the area every two years the Berta-Benz Rally takes place! Who that was, I probably don’t have to tell a car fan! No woman, logical! But now seriously: My question is whether one of you was already there at such a rally as a driver and what you think of it at all? For me as a pure fan it is always an experience to see such cars from close up! But as a vintage car owner some people may disagree! T me smarter and wiser! Greetings andy

  • Does a 1900 CIH from B Ascona fit in Opel GT ??

Hi, Can anyone tell me if the 1900’s CIH from the B Ascona fits into the GT ? Should normally be the same as in the GT or ?? How do I recognize whether it is a lead-free head ? The engine is in a good condition with little KM and I would like to build it because it is equipped with a sharper cam and Solex Dooppel carburetors . These are exactly the same components which (allegedly) were used earlier in the races. thank you Sven

  • What is important when buying (and registering for an H-mark if applicable) an old-timer replica of a car

Hello, Since I could not find an existing blog about Autotune Kit-Cars, I present my thoughts here: I have been playing for some time with the idea of purchasing a replica of Autotune. The vehicle was first registered in 1971, where Autotune (A manufacturer of various Kit-Cars) only started to build the type of body that also carries my object of desire. The vehicle is located in the Netherlands, where apparently the chassis is there. Question 1) Could this circumstance (the date of the EZ in relation to chassis/car body) possibly cause problems with a registration in Germany? Question 2) Is it even possible to allow a replica on an H-mark? Question 2a) If so, what is required for a registration of a kit-car in Germany on an H-mark? Question 3) What do I have to pay attention to when buying, apart from the technical condition? Special features of the purchase of kit cars and replicas? Thank you already in advance, you can also tell me about your own experiences, I look forward to your answers. PS: Due to the fact that my topic caption is partly cut off, I repeat here again the headline and actual core theme: “What should be observed when buying (and obtaining an H-mark if necessary) an oldtimer replica of Autotune?

  • Do I have to be ashamed of this? Ford Sierra

Hello everyone, I am 07 owner, with which a BMW M6 and a 49 triumph is moved. Shortly before the end of the 20 year regulation I bought a Sierra from Jux in ebay. In fact Ford is not so my thing, but it had something: Built 83, only 70000km and a condition like an annual car, so absolutely stainless and accident-free. The varnish shines like on the first day, even the underfloor is like new and the interior looks like fresh from the factory. The previous owner managed to get the car like this. Besides, he has the rare 2 liter V6 with 90hp under the hood, which was built only 1 1/2 years. What happened? My friends laughed crooked! A Sierra, hahaha… Well, as long as I had my pleasure. However, at a meeting I would not drive with it. There is probably no one who does not find a Sierra…

  • DKW F11 ( Junior) suitable for everyday use

Hello, I could get a DKW F11 and ask myself what is to be considered during the test drive / inspection? I know my technique and love to screw it up and repair it but what is to be considered specifically?

  • DKW Munga

Hello guys, I’m new here in the oldtimer forum and on behalf of a colleague here. It’s especially about a car union DKW Munga with a Wartburg engine (2-stroke). The current main problem is to connect the gearbox to the engine. However, since the engine is not original, the output coil must be stored extra in order to be connected to the gearbox without any play. Furthermore, help is needed when adjusting the ignition, since corresponding make-up on the engineblo ck, or missing the flywheel. For help and hints of any kind I thank already in advance. Christian

Hey people have an offer about a Jaguar XJ12. Year 84, 107000tkm hardly rust. Defects: Servo pump defective, a few water hoses leaks, on top of the water cover is also what. Buy or not?? Price would be about 1200Euro. So what do you think? Thank you

  • Citroen Ami 6 berline

Hello! I fell in love with the Ami 6 berline 🙂 That’s why I wanted to ask how it looks with the expected costs in the weighing machine. How much rust is gnawing and what about the durability of the engine and other components? What about spare parts? It depends of course on the original condition, but maybe you can say something about it!? Can you use the car as an everyday car at all? I don’t have to drive longer distances all the time. Do you think that such a car can also be entertained with relatively little money (civil or student)? Or would you say that you should leave your hands off the quirky mobile? Many questions, I know 🙂 Thank you already in advance! Greetings, Philipp.

  • Old car find: over 100 vehicles

Hello, over 4 corners I have experienced (and seen pictures) of a terrain on which more than 100 old cars are to be located. The terrain is supposed to be in the area Welzheim/Welzheimer Wald near Göppingen (near Stuttgart). When I saw the pictures, I did not trust my eyes. A colleague was with a friend on this site on which there is also a “hall” (if you can still call it that). From the pretzels beetle to the Adenauer-Mercedes everything was represented. Unfortunately the F The “Halle” is actually only a roof on four rotten wooden beams. You can’t start directly (otherwise someone would have discovered it long ago). Rather, it is that you have to beat yourself in a longer walk through the terrain. According to the pictures, I also have little hope that you can get something useful out of there in some way. Therefore, you can do this here in R unfortunately I have no access to the pictures so that I can unfortunately not put one in here. Unfortunately there is also no directions because the colleague is a bit funny. Maybe someone is interested in the search for the terrain, maybe we can also do this together ???

  • Oldtimer/Youngtimer as first car? Which one is good?

Hello, I am a huge oldtimer fan and would like to buy one; but instead of just driving it seasonally or leaving it in the garage, I would like to use it as a everyday car. Which oldtimer/youngtimer is (best) suitable for everyday use? Brand, year of construction doesn’t matter? LG jenny-89
