  • Mercedes W109 6.3 V8 – value?

Hello! I was offered a hot Mercedes S W109 6.3 V8, Limo. The condition is probably about 2 outside, inside 2-3. everything works, also the air suspension. At least it comes up after 4 weeks of service life after 5 minutes. The machine was overhauled 2 years ago and allegedly “drilled up” to 6.9 L, however from a specialist workshop. Outside the car is painted in bright red color 1 or 2 years ago, inside is black leather with patina and without damage. The air conditioning function The electric sliding roof also. So also all window lifters, radio and so on. The car runs round, the automatic switches neatly. It hardly had to be welded before the painting, the sheet metal seems really good, the painting is professional. The current owner bought it in parts and restored it to the end. However, it is not a luxury restoration with loud new parts, but a solid overhaul work. 8 tires and rims are very good, the wear parts are very good. The car ran on Oldierallyes and ran right. So he was also used. What’s such a car worth about? Thank you and greetings, M.

  • Wire harness burned through BMW 525 Year 1974 E12

Hello you love, my beloved E12 is the starter and the wire harness burned through. Now good advice is expensive. Do you have an idea what you can do? I want the vehicle back on the road, just how do you handle it?

  • Where do your oldies store??????

So …how said…where do your oldies store??? Move soon and look for a home for my Rostberge. Currently they are still at Omi, to the joy of the neighborhood and the family. A garage parking space costs about 20 to 35€ a month However, I would prefer a bought garage….what does that cost??? (at home you say yes, as far as I know, 100 months rents) Then go …be tense and grateful for every suggestion!! ps: for a student who lives in the Studi-housing is the Reference to your own garage probably not the right one!!

  • Problems with the K-Jetronic – Ruckle

Halllo to everyone, I have two small but very annoying mistakes with my one golf with G-Kat. 1. At the cold start the engine starts, but in the first second the speed goes down very strongly, then up again until the idle speed becomes stable after a few seconds. That wouldn’t be so tragic if my wife doesn’t want to drive from time to time and then activates the accelerator at the start, so that the cold engine starts to wane. 2. When driving in the partial load range If you know that, you actually pay attention to it permanently and want to put it off. Easier said than done, at least the people of VAG thought so and built up the complete electrics, set the ignition again and – no improvement – cost 450 DM, Then also warm-up regulator, cold-start valve, cold-air valve and volume divider were examined – nothing then you changed the injection valves – effect : the sink The last step would be a complete system pressure check with a Bosch service – costs over 1000 DM would be in it. Help call: Has someone experience with the K-Jetronic and can help me further before I spend sums and have no success with it. Short answer would be really great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Greeting from Stephan from Krefeld

  • How do you start with vintage cars?

Hello Motortalker, so slowly I get to the age (19) in which the first “real” salary is in view and I fantasize accordingly about new hobbies. I always found oldtimer nice, but since I come from a rather “academic family” I have absolutely zero idea of technology or no practical screwdriver experiences. So how to get into the oldtimer scene best? Until my planned / desired own oldtimer purchase it is still about 3 years but I think you can never start to find out soon enough. So questions like this: How do you get into the classic car scene best? Are there textbooks that can be understood about the technology? Are these model specific or are the technology of the different manufacturers at this time so strong that you only need “special knowledge” in special cases? How did you make your first experiences with vintage cars? (Does it go rather bad at a vintage car meeting and say: “Hey You there, can I watch you screw?” Greetings Felix P.s.: About the person: I live in Karlsruhe and start (after a semester of physics studies) in October with my dual degree in mechanical engineering/production engineering.

  • Paint on rubber seals

Hello! I’m looking for a tip like my car, which was repainted by the previous owner 7 years ago, to remove the color that has been removed by bad adhesive on rubber seals. The front and rear disc seals e.g. are affected all around. I don’t want to remove the discs, because the rubbers are partly already slightly porous and everything is at the moment nicely dense. As a last possibility I see, after a scratched with the fingernail has failed, the transparent overpainting with tire color (self-vulcanizing). Looking forward to your tips Greetings

  • OM616 blue smoke at idle

Dear members and professionals! After we have asked in several free workshops whether someone can repair the vehicle we are now in despair and please here for help! Vehicle is a camper with OM616 diesel engine Bj 1980 – 230,000 KM. The problem is: The engine smokes blue as soon as it runs idle about 2-3 minutes. Starting in cold condition it does heavy and in warm condition immediately without annealing. When starting in cold condition he smokes blue/black whereby blue clearly If it is warm and during the ride there is no smoke when giving gas or in idle. As soon as the engine runs in idle after 2-3 minutes, it starts to smoke. With every second it squirts more and more. When I then drive and give a little more gas the squirting stops almost completely until I stop again in idle 2-3 minutes. The vehicle has no water consumption and engine oil consumption MAX 0.4 liters to 1000KM. (in recent years from FFM to Berlin and back fa so the value) Could someone please give me a hint so that I can find the cause and fix it?? Thank you

  • The window rubber is no longer available

Hello, with my oldtimer (Ford Consul Capri BJ 1962) would need the window rubbers for the rear side windows. Despite intensive search I have found none so far. Unfortunately, this can not be replaced by a simple rubber profile. Can you make (let) something like this? Greeting N.Ebert
