  • Switch to E or diesel again – AHK operation

Good morning with each other, since my A4 diesel from 2010 now has a good 340,000 km on the clock and I have so far been spared from repairs (except wear and tear parts), the question for me is slowly asking for a successor. In my choice there are currently either a 3l diesel (A4/A6) or a Tesla Y LR. However, I can not decide for one side or the other, among other things because I have no reliable answer to some questions. Brief to me: – Many drivers with 28-30 tk m/year – Workpath 100km/day only Landstraße – Holidays with boat 1x/year Italy/Balkan countries (min. 2000km per holiday) – Weekend trips with boat (~300km total) – No panels on the roof, condominium, own parking Tesla Y: – What about the reach in trailer operation, if a boat trailer (150kg) with small boat (350kg) is attached to the clutch? ~90kmh – Are there other reasons besides the crossbars to reach the 300,000+km? A4/6: – Since only 45/50 TDI in The question arises to me the question, hü or hott. Of the weakness when starting I noticed almost nothing in a test drive with a 45 TDI, whereas in the test drive with a 50s this was already clearly pronounced. Exception? Is a newer update missing in the 50s? – Is the automatic transmission a mileage of 300,000+km just as realistic as it was with my switch? Purely emotional I would grab the diesel, cost purely economically to the E – used ide in about the same. Thanks for the help Greetings HansTe

  • Now he’s here – first steps, tips and tricks

Moin, let’s collect tips and tricks for Tesla-Newbees here. Starting with the car collection, what do you have to pay attention to when handing over, first settings, key card & mobile phone, etc. I start asking: our two Y LRs should be able to pick up in Essen on 23.9.22. It starts already: can both vehicles be opened and driven over the same phone? So I have the black and my wife the white, can I deposit it so on the iPhone that I can get in b How many Tesla do you need the chip card? My son’s Y P comes at the end of October and we want to get along without cards & keys… What “basic settings” should you do first? According to the consultant, you don’t have time for explanations at the handover and should rather “get smart on the Internet.”

  • Why “Y”? – From Model S to Model Y

Hello all, I would like to describe here again a bit more in detail (edit: ok, was a little longer) than in the waiting room, which triggered the change and the decision for the model Y Performance. Maybe one or the other is facing a similar situation…- What was – Our main vehicle in the family has been electric since a fatal test drive in 2016. Lack of alternatives there was only the model S90D then, which our needs in range, charging In 2019 we had to decide again what the successor should be for the vehicle. It was clear that he had to be completely electric again, the return to the burner was excluded due to the positive e-experiences of the previous years and also off the main vehicle we are working to get the last verb The test drive with the toughest competitor at this time with four rings (detailed report here) ended with the signing of a new leasing contract for a Model S Long Range. This could again be a few things better than the predecessor and accompanies us reliably on all trips and in everyday life until today. At the same time, I would like to mention explicitly that in the past 6 years Tesla’s fault rate was below and the service (if necessary) above that of the previous vehicles with stars and rings. This is not representative, but personal experience. – What is – 3 years already around again? Hard to believe, but also this year the change is on again…and the decision was not easier for various reasons. First of all, I would like to mention that no vehicle and no manufacturer is perfect. Also at Tesla there are (subjective) points, which I like (drive/performance, range, charging network, software/app connectivity, OTA updates, steering assistance, space offer, reduced interior, warranty, dynamic of the company) those I would like to see better or that the competition can better (shield detection, rescue lane, suspension grinding, paint quality (US production), here and there the attention to detail – where the last point is to In the end there is always a personal balance and a compromise. So what are the alternatives on the market to replace our Model S? Well…the Model S Refresh! Even faster, even more range, an – as I think – beautifully upgraded interior, new headlights, seat ventilation and Co. – problem? Still not arrived in Europe yet and no schedule available. Since the Nac In addition, the almost 5m length and the stately width of the Model S are the point, which has often caused the desire for a somewhat more compact vehicle to come up…just when suddenly there was a scratch on the bumper or rims that no one could explain. So further: The little brother is already standing in front of the house as Model 3 SR+, makes his thing very good and lots of fun to drive, since he clearly has you ekter than the big ship Model S is and fits also in smaller parking spaces. However, the carried out suitcase test quickly revealed that it is simply not enough for the existing luggage volume to become the main touring vehicle, the small tailgate/the height of the trunk is – despite itself really much traffic volume – in this case the hook and does not reach the model S. So then just no Tesla anymore, gives after all enough choice, right? Well. In – subjective(!) – fastdurc The reasons for the exclusion of theoretically available models (with desired all-wheel) on the market: MB EQS: too long (5,21m), optics and with reasonable equipment/all-wheel at the absolute price pain limit; MB EQE: also too small tailgate, optics, not all variants available yet; Porsche Taycan/Audi e-tron GT: even deeper than the Model S, length about the same, too small tailgate, otherwise visually beautiful; BMW iX: optics (fat beaver); BMW i4: too heavy (+420kg to the TM3 LR), P/L agrees here for not me, space in the rear restricted; Audi E-tron: see reasons above; Audi Q4: interior is too heavily devalued compared to previous Audi interiors, material quality partly under Tesla, infotainment system (MIB) lame, currently no real OTA support, app connectivity unfortunately still as bad/unreliable as with our last Audi, driving performance compared weak; VW ID.4/Skoda Enyaq: driving performance, infotainment see Q4; KIA EV6: optics, driving performance (GT comes too late) Other potentially possible vehicles such as Q6, EQE SUV, Macan-e, Audi A6 e-tron or various newcomers are not yet available, could also bring unwanted surprises. And why did I write above only of “theoretically available models”? Because many of the mentioned vehicles unfortunately have delivery times, which let you slag with your ears. If you look around here in the forum, are sometimes already called delivery times up to the year 2024 (e.g. i4) or b. of course – at least in part – not only the manufacturers are responsible for this and it is due to the tense situation on the world market (chip shortage, raw material prices, Ukraine crisis), but if one needs a vehicle promptly, one – in addition to the above mentioned subjective aspects – actually only remains one vehicle, namely…- What comes – …the Model Y. It makes things better if space is increased With the Model 3 at its capacity limits, it is still more compact than the Model S, does not lose any storage space and brings with it the well-known Tesla focus points (software, drive and charging grid). In our case, when deciding between Long Range and Performance, the performance ultimately won, because the driving performance of the LR coming from the Model S LR would have been a small step backwards – but that is also subjective, of course, an LR is likely to be the most effective. I’m sure it’s also a point to mention: when it comes to costs, the Y (also when it comes to leasing) is very much lower than that of the Model S – clearly, other vehicle class, here and there a bit of a waiver, but the overall package fits for us and, as I said, a new Model S would not have been available at all. In the chosen color white, the fact that the door handles are so much better to recognize in the dark has played a role. s for black, which has been the color of choice for us for years. Maybe a little strange as a reason, but even with the chrome-plated door handles on the Model 3 it is sometimes not easy to recognize these in the dark by the black car – with black handles on white ground this should work better – apart from that I find that white is good for the Model Y – in combination with dark rims. That the performance at delivery is already safe “Made in Brandenb This is a small patriotic bonus, which is also good for the German Autoseele after 3 vehicles from USA and China, whereby I would ultimately make a vehicle decision dependent on the characteristics and not on the production site. Just to say: We are looking forward to the strong “Y” from Grünheide!

  • Model Y Leasing at MeinAuto

There is currently a leasing campaign for 24 months here. Does there speak something against with a Tesla Model Y (Tesla in general)? The monthly rate is more than 80 euros lower under my configuration and the run time with 24 months even shorter – which suits me.

  • *Announcement: Changed forum breakdown from next week*

Hello together, Motor-Talk is constantly developing and looking for opportunities for improvement in order to make the stay in the forum as clear and informative as possible for the users. Especially in relation to the e-mobility and the change from “static vehicle” to “digital product”, new topics and questions arise, which are of increasing interest to the users. In the Tesla Model 3-Forum, therefore, community management and moderation will start over the coming week. a pilot project in the form of a revised fora division with specific subforums for the following topics: In addition, of course, there will also be the general Model 3 forum for questions and topics that do not fit into the main categories mentioned above. Model Y will also have its own subforum, the corresponding subforums will also be set up there in due course after the start-up phase. Please use these new possibilities accordingly and open up net there new topics, for example, it no longer needs a large software thread for all questions regarding software, updates, etc., but it can also be answered smaller questions in own topics. This increases for all the clarity and re-findability e.g. via the search function. If questions are open, you can ask them in this topic. We are pleased to be able to design the “Model 3/Y-Forum 2.0” with you! Greetings Zimpalazumpala & balle x MT-Team 的 Moderation

  • Tesla Model Y News

There is some confusing information about the Model Y of Business Insider, which was supposed to come from a well-informed source, but was not confirmed by Tesla. Probably the time for this news itself is too early for Tesla. Apparently it will be a model with 3 rows of seats and a tailgate (not confirmed). It is produced in the Gigafactory 1 and in the Gigafactory 3 (China). More information can be found at:https://www.businessinsider.com/…ternal- timeline-for-model-y-2018-11 also for Electrek:http://elelectrek.co/…/#more-80298

  • Upgrade HomeLink

After only the first delivered Model 3 had the HomeLink on board as standard, I have once resounded to Tesla in the SEC. Retrofit at all no problem, costs incl. installation 320,- Euro and is now installed with me at the service appointment. If installation is desired, this must be logged in beforehand, as parts are not always in stock. One week before appointment has passed with me. Depending on the homelink functions of the gate drive manufacturer, the following functions are probably possible: – automatic opening of the gate when approaching the vehicle (whether automatic closing is not yet clear when driving off) With FSD (with Summon), the gate can probably also be opened and closed via Tesla App. When activating the Summon function, it should also be possible for the vehicle to open the gate automatically. Does HomeLink already use someone with / without FSD?

  • Change seats in Tesla (MY)?

Hello together, the request seems at first glance a bit crazy and at second unfortunately also. In addition, please point out if this is the wrong corner in the forum (unfortunately found nothing suitable): Does someone have experiences with a change of front seats in a more current new car? This idea does not come from me either, yet I am the commissioner, who should collect possible knowledge from experience treasures. Concretely: The Model Y stands as a candidate through its range and Ef The iX3 has already been discussed here (through my thread), but is very likely to fall out due to the upper criteria. Teslas, however, can’t satisfy the subjective seating requirements at all, so the probably absurd part comes up: the idea of the “seat swap” came up. So order Model Y, seats out and better ones. Is this at all conceivable? TÜV has to approve it, moreover, you don’t want to give the guarantee just like that. The idea of upgrading the seats at the saddler came up as an option, but probably the Tesla seats lack the necessary basic structure, so that one would have to build a new seat. Does anyone possibly have any experience? General for the exchange of seats (in more current vehicles) would also be helpful. Thanks to all the features nowadays, of course, cars have become more secure and comfortable, a on even more complicated. On support you can probably not put at manufacturers and dealers in such cases or? I thank you for your help in advance! Momo

  • Questions about premium connectivity

Hello Together, the M3 has actually slipped into my shortlist as an option for a next car (together with a plug-in hybrid-elch) But I have two questions, which I have not yet been answered despite intensive search for forums and also at Tesla: 1. what costs premium connectivity in Switzerland after the end of the sample subscription for the model3? – “A Tesla does not need any warehousing costs.” but for this 150.- CHF data subscription makes you different invoice. 2. in my account I have electricity, but hardly any mobile phone supply. Depending on my cell phone, no reception. I can’t just pull WLAN from my apartment down there. What’s the minimum data connection what should be and what are the consequences if it doesn’t exist? Spring Warm Greetings Hobbes

  • Recommended behaviour in cold weather

Dear experts! The topic “Recommended behaviour in cold weather” according to BA. Here is the question, what in my situation is “most meaningful” for the daily use of the MYP The following starting position/frame conditions: commuting Mon. – Thu. with approx. 25km per route and best case 25-30min. Driving time (approx. 90% motorway) Pitch: CarPort (closed by 3 pages) Descent times variable between 06:45 and 08:30 Winter temperatures: rare under 0 Makes it effective to “preheat” the battery here I can basically do without the comfort of the heated interior, as I am not particularly sensitive to cold. However, this cannot be controlled separately. Speak only battery preheat but not interior. What do the experts think is more efficient for overall consumption. Preheating to ensure maximum range and performance OR without preheating off the road, but to be less efficient and accept a higher consumption. I’m curious! And thank you for your input!
