  • Tank contents of current Cooper S

Hello together Since November I own a new Cooper S. Now I would like to know how much gasoline fits into the tank. Lt. information is 44l, but I think this fits in much more. Reason for my question is that I filled the car at the petrol station until switching off. (range 630km ) Then I pressed the flap in the tank socket with a pen and it went in again 3l. Then I drove home ( 1.5 km ) and then still with a Kanist Here I say and write I can refuel 15 l. Thus the range should be almost 800 km. With my other two BMWs that is not so. If here at the gas station the pump shuts down, then is full…… And with the mini just not. That’s why my question. Stix3

  • Mini for long distance?

Hello I drove the new mini S a short time ago, I was very excited also that he has so very large space in the inside (a bit bigger) . Now of course the problem is that I drive a lot of distance and the Sd certainly beats itself cheaper also I have to reckon that the Sd does not sound like the S which is of course a pity. Can you use the S also for long distance? Are there mini problems for long distance? how is the oil consumption? reliability?

  • Cooling water loss

Hi, everybody! I have to refill about 1 liter of water every day at our Mini One 98PS. He probably does not lose this water by defective hoses or containers, but only in driving operation. I had it pulled off for several hours in the workshop. Loss: negative… At the moment, not the biggest problem, but when the temperatures continue to fall, it makes for a little fun every morning before the start of the journey to make the creepy refill act, but above all that the necessary Frost protection is missing. We fill in normal water each time. Now the question: Who knows this problem with this engine? Which gasket is there in the warm run that leaves so much water? Or is it not a gasket at all, but the motor/cylinder head as such (worst case)? Thanks in advance for all participation…

  • Questions about the Clubman…

Hello together, I’m thinking of buying a 2010 Clubman with the 95 HP petrol. For now two questions: 1. At the first inspection the interior was a bit damp. The car is already a bit and maybe it’s just condensation water. Are there any places that are suspected of leaking? 2. Does the engine (that’s the PPE?) have a timing belt and if yes: What are the changing intervals? So much for the moment. Greeting, Jo

  • Crack at the rear spring

Hello, recently my friend’s Cooper has cracked the spring at the back left (mostly when springing out). I could not recognize a spring break so far. Only the coating of the spring is swollen and slightly cracked. And what I still noticed, the altitude is different: fender lower edge to the ground

  • Lose control over steering wheel

Hello fans, I have a problem there again and hope someone can help me. To the dates, I drive a mini cooper clubman s r55 bond street 184 hp and 78000. I already pulled new rims on it two weeks before Easter, ats 19 inches. But now I noticed that when I drive into the curve and there for example a punch hole or a Gulli cover is that I somehow lose control of the steering wheel. What can that be? Until recently I did not notice this yet, I always get a slight shock when this happens to me. So it happened to me on the highway. Maybe you have a hint for me. Thank you already….

  • Mini One R56 error inlet camshaft sensor and switchable water pump, control

Nice morning, with our Mini One R56 Coupe from 2008 (N12 motor) we have unfortunately the following errors in the memory, we have read it out with INPA and Rheingold: Error with INPA: Sx2982 – Inlet cam wave sensor (cannot be deleted) sx2f39 – Switchable water pump, control error with Rheingold ( ISTA) 002982 – Inlet cam wave sensor 002F39 – Switchable water pump, control regarding the inlet cam wave sensor, there should be 2 pieces of it installed, with Leebmann cost about 67 Euro.https://www.leebmann24.de/…nsensor-1er-3er-mini-13627588095.html?… Do you have an idea about the inlet cam wave sensor, can you recommend it? From Bosch about 21 Euro, from HELLA about 19 Euro Is the change relaxed possible?https://www.daparto.de/…/13627588095?

  • Buy MINI Cooper S

Hello MINI fans, I had a R50 One 14 years ago. Was a cool car with some problems. Has also got 2x new gearboxes. But otherwise I was super satisfied with the little one… Now the company car goes away and I need a small car to drive the kids in the morning to Kita / school. That’s not so great with the BMW 3 liter diesel in the long run. Have now the R56 in mind. As Cooper S. up to 150 tkm. From which BJ is the relatively inconspicuous? Control chain should make problems until 2010? Because of short distance the MINI would get every year oil service. But I think I will also move it so reasonably… On equipment would be mandatory for me: Xenon climate automatic sports seats Pano-Dach ISO-Fix rear (was really special equipment) Sound system Haman-Kardon missing something yet? Unfortunately, the Aero package does not exist anymore or? What do you have to pay attention to during the inspection? Does the gearbox cause problems? Best regards! PS: With my old racingsemmel

  • Indicator in cockpit oil pressure too low with warm engine

Hello dear Schraubergemeinde, I despaired at my Mini Cooper s r56, type M 71 Bj 2009, 171000 km If the engine is warm after about 8 km the indicator and warning lamp goes on, moter pressure too low, when I play with the speed the indicator goes off again after a short time. After measuring the oil pressure in cold idle o,8 bar, when it is warm located zero. Otherwise if I increase the threshold also it at 1 bar and not higher. What did I do: Control chain + drive oil pump oil pump replaced connecting bearings replaced piston rings replaced valve shaft seal replaced oil pressure sensor new Where can it still lie, that the oil pressure disappears? Does one have an idea? Ach valve cover also new. Can it lie on the pressure valve with oil flange? Please help me because I also run out of patience.

  • Mini One R55 Nails / Motor noise Hydropumps?

Hello all, I bought my first car about 6 weeks ago, a mini one from 2007 with 95 hp and about 156,000 km. Unfortunately, the engine makes funny nailing or clacking noises in the idle run. When you drive the engine sounds normal. (Maybe only the noise will be overwhelmed…) After searching in the forum I hit on V-belts and chain tensioners. On Wednesday I changed the V-belt with an acquaintance. This was also necessary, because the old one was very brittle and missed at a point about 0.5 cm of 2 ribs. Unfortunately, this did not help with the noises. As a result, we changed the control chain tensioner yesterday. The engine sounds only minimally better. I would rule out the steering chain that I did not feel a ratchet. Could the wash be caused by broken Hydropulses? I don’t know any more and hope that the experts from the Communtiy can help me. Additional information: If the engine is cold he has sometimes lost some oil. Otherwise the oil has not returned a bit of speed.
