  • Tank contents of current Cooper S

Hello together Since November I own a new Cooper S. Now I would like to know how much gasoline fits into the tank. Lt. information is 44l, but I think this fits in much more. Reason for my question is that I filled the car at the petrol station until switching off. (range 630km ) Then I pressed the flap in the tank socket with a pen and it went in again 3l. Then I drove home ( 1.5 km ) and then still with a Kanist Here I say and write I can refuel 15 l. Thus the range should be almost 800 km. With my other two BMWs that is not so. If here at the gas station the pump shuts down, then is full…… And with the mini just not. That’s why my question. Stix3

  • Mini for long distance?

Hello I drove the new mini S a short time ago, I was very excited also that he has so very large space in the inside (a bit bigger) . Now of course the problem is that I drive a lot of distance and the Sd certainly beats itself cheaper also I have to reckon that the Sd does not sound like the S which is of course a pity. Can you use the S also for long distance? Are there mini problems for long distance? how is the oil consumption? reliability?

  • Motor damage Mini Cooper D 3000km after oil change

Hello together, I would like to have an opinion about the following incident: On 12.02.2021 I started my mini, which was standing because of the prevailing cold since 09.02.2021 of the cold protected city house garage, quite normal. When I wanted to speed up after a few meters, I noticed that the car did not take the gas properly. Then the engine began to stutter, it went out and did not let itself go again. The breakdown service dragged the car into the workshop. later the workshop informed me that this was not the fault, but that the engine had a total damage. When the oil was drained, it was found that almost 2 liters of oil were missing and metal pieces would indicate that the engine was no longer ready for operation due to lack of lubrication. The car ran 103,435 km at this time. It was approved in August 2014. The last oil change was on 22.07.2020 at km 100,115 m 8. There were problems when entering into the service history. I had to drive 3 times to the workshop until the service appeared in the on-board computer. On the way back my oil lamp lit up. I drove back to the workshop, had it checked and then the oil lamp was off. The car is stocked and has entered all services in the on-board computer. The display of the oil level never had a deficit light up except with the above entry in the service history. There are no traces of oil in the car’s parking lot at home, not even in the car park. I have now applied for a certificate at Mini’s, but I haven’t heard anything yet.

  • Registration Winter rims

Hello, We wanted to have our 17 inch winter bikes registered. ABE is there, but must be registered anyway. Car brought to the TÜV. In the evening then picked up again and were not registered, as they would apparently with full suspension on the fender stripes. At home we then let him in completely and put in 2 persons. But there is still a good place in between. (see picture) What do you think about it? Mfg

  • Mini F56 Cold start noise

Hello, I’m a little worried about my mother’s mini … it’s a Mini One f56 with 45000km. And now to the problem. When she starts with a cold engine the car makes extremely clacking, nagelene noises…as what would not have been properly tightened. Today we were allowed to pick up our mini then again from the mini car house … but they found nothing and meant the noise is quite normal. Funny only that before about 10000km there was no noise yet.. Has jeman d the same problem ?? MFG

  • Route planning Navigation

Hello together, the retirement is a bit nice and all the more beautiful when you can enjoy it. When we were still part of the working population, my wife and I liked to do tours with their Mini Convertible – also over several days and weeks. We planned these tours in advance on the computer (BMW-Routes.com or myrouteapp.com) and took them as a .tar.gz file on a USB stick and could then save this in the car via the US interface and then dementsprec We bought a JCW convertible last year as a pensioner and wanted to do nice (pre-planned) tours through Europe. But unfortunately we had to find out that there is no USB plug in our mini and that the menu of the navigation system “Import route” is no longer available. Can someone help us how we get the route planning from the computer into the car?

  • Roadtop EVO installation

Hello, I’m new here as a writer, of therefore short introduction: I live in Hamburg, have been the owner of a Clubman S F54 year 2018, automatic. I am technically and/or artisanally well positioned (Kfz-Mechniker, computer scientist). Since I primarily use Androidphones, and the car lacks a rear camera, I have bought a Roadtop EVO device, and built in with an aftermarket camera. Closes so far, but unfortunately not quite. Maybe someone has experience with it: – the The reverse detect signal (via a filter) comes from the rear-view headlight, which, according to the manual, is to be generated by the device. Well, that’s also the case. – Main problem: No sound. A Bluetooth transmitter is included to connect the AUX cable to the jack. However, the mini cannot connect to the transmitter. In the Bluetoo camera, the camera works, and the switch to the rear-view headlight works accordingly. th menu only appears, one should trigger the Connect on the device. But the transmitter has no control. But I can see the transmitter as Bluetooth device e.g. on the mobile phone. Other possibilities of the sound transmission result in that I hear everything on the mobile phone, but not on the car system. Ergo: no sound e.g. from Spotify. If someone has an idea, I would be grateful.

  • Mine ONE D F56 control chain defective? Cost 2000€

Good morning, I drive a Mini ONE D 1.5 95hp of the series F56. I found a slight jerking in the partial load range and drove into the workshop. They have read out two errors in the memory: – camshaft sensor – air mass meter The workshop now suspects that the control chain is too loose and therefore has to be renewed. The suitable tool, which is needed to accurately measure the travel of the control chain, has to order the workshop first, after which you can easily l make a precise statement, if it is the chain. In any case, he has already calculated the incurred costs. These amount to approx. 2000€. He must probably the engine, gearbox out and the axle out also to get to these chain / chains. Question: – Do you think it is the control chain? – Are the costs realistic? Greetings

  • Purchase advice F56, travel services 75 ps or prefer 102 ps

Hello here in the mini-forum I’m looking for a Mini F56 at the moment, because our polo is currently in trouble (probably skipping the steering chain) and I want to save myself the probably expensive repair possible. In the eye I have now 2 F56, one has 75 hp. That makes me a little unsure. Can someone report something about the driving performance of the B38 in this car? The polo has 105 hp and is quite a rocket. Couldn’t have tried a mini yet to try it out yourself. In the meantime, driving profile is mostly overland and less on the highway. Our area is a bit hilly and thus a certain passage is already advantageous. How does the 102 hp motor behave in contrast to this? Thank you for your assessments
