Hey, after the update to iOS 18, CarPlay doesn’t work properly anymore. On the smartphone it shows that the connection is active but in the car the playback doesn’t start. If I want to rebuild the connection, he said that he could not connect. I then let the iPhone ignore the connection and set it up again, which also worked out. However, the connection was not established automatically again on the next trip and I did not e the same problems as before. I found an entry where it is said that some have a problem with it and the solution was that you have to activate the screen time for CarPlay. But that was already set with me, which is why I can’t expect any changes here. Do you also have problems with it?

Spring breaker rear axle
Hello all, I have a F54 Cooper S ALL4 141kW 2.0 Clubman Bj 2016. When I drove across Switzerland a few weeks ago, it suddenly popped so loud in the back that I had a trinitus. Fascit a broken original spring at the back left. Not quite safe. I never had this with my vintage cars with triple/m mileage and age. Therefore, has anyone ever had the same experience? The rear ones are both new now, but I don’t want to have the same such a break happens in the front.

No more compaction on all cylinders.
Hello Forumgemeinde. I have a problem with my Mini Roadster where the workshop doesn’t know any more. I turned with my Mini on a narrow road and drove with the right front wheel into a small pothole. Immediately afterwards the engine warning lamp went on and the engine had almost no power any more. I drove then still about 1 km to the next workshop and put the car there. Since this workshop had no BMW special tools, have which only superficially tested and meant it would have to have a problem with the control times. I then had the car transferred to a specialist workshop specialized in BMW engine technology. Main engine revision and control chain replacement. There the valve cover was removed, the control times and the voltage of the control chain checked. Everything was flawless. But all cylinders have only a compaction between 4.5 and 6.5. That is actually far too little. Usually m the engine had at least 10. The compression was measured with a digital and an analog measuring instrument. Comparable results. The engine has only about 80k down and was always gently driven. Does any of you have any idea what the problem could be? I would be infinitely grateful to you. Greetings from Christian

CAS programming termination, rescue with Tool32 ?
Since I no longer find my login data, I unfortunately had to create a new account… Unfortunately I have the problem at the moment that I made the son of my boss the CAS control unit to acknowledge his service…. About the action plan in ISTA P the program suggested to “resurrect” CAS, i.e. “programming–>code”. Unfortunately, after a short time a programming interruption took place and now the car is almost dead…. No ignition, no ZV, nothing… About Tool 32 I can still read/receive AIF. But since I haven’t worked with it yet I need your help now how I can/should proceed. I would really be grateful for every tip!! But please don’t have any moral sermons according to the motto “if you don’t have a clue fingers off” or something. I’m a trained car mechanic and I learned it at BMW/Mini and spent a certain time there in the “e-bude”. Only these things are not on the agenda. te for years with DIS, Inpa, Ista, NCS etc. . Only the current problem I did not have so far… Thank you in advance !!!

Mini Cooper S R56 N14 restless motor run and motor control lamp
I drove on the highway with my Mini Cooper S R56 and did it one or the other time properly. Then at once the engine control light went on, only flashed at first and then it lit permanently. Engine ran from then on totally restless but still drove home, there was totally jerking at the gas. It felt as if the little one was only running on 3 pötten. At home once oil and everything checked, then started again and at once the control light was but I didn’t dare to turn around again. Then immediately read out fault memory, zack 4 errors in the engine control unit among others super knocking and fuel shutdown due to super knocking. Now I don’t know what it could be, high pressure pump or spark plugs/spooling? What else? I absolutely need your help, will not give up my little ones have really gone through a lot with each other but he is now also s chon 157,000km….

General purchase advice R56 / R57
Hello together. As slowly as I get through the engines and so on, we want a Mini Cabrio R57 again. But each display has different engines on offer. From mid-2010 the facelift with other engines probably came. But what is the difference between the motors except in the power (Coper and Cooper S) control chain have as well as I have read all. But do all of them have problems with it too? What about the automatic transmissions? Are the OK, also in the Cooper S) From which manufacture r are these. Especially with FRONT-driven vehicles one often finds Aisin Warner. (Opel, Volvo) The search was not very productive, here only for special offers was asked.

Interval for the control chain?
Hello together, I love a Mini R56 (One or Cooper) and am especially concerned with its weak points. If I have understood everything correctly, the control chain theme seems to be in the first place here. My question would now be whether there is a kind of change interval for the control chain in this series – similar to the timing belt – or whether the chain along with spanner+glite rails is driven so long, until it is noticed by unsightly noises A short background to this: I visited a One with 100Tkm, which I like well, but which is noticeable after the stand gas reduction at (at first unobtrusive) cold start due to noise from the right side of the engine. The steering chain will probably still be the first. How is all your experience to evaluate? Control chain after 100Tkm definitely due? Or maybe even “finger off”? Thank you in advance for a few tips VG!
