  • Mini One R55 Nails / Motor noise Hydropumps?

Hello all, I bought my first car about 6 weeks ago, a mini one from 2007 with 95 hp and about 156,000 km. Unfortunately, the engine makes funny nailing or clacking noises in the idle run. When you drive the engine sounds normal. (Maybe only the noise will be overwhelmed…) After searching in the forum I hit on V-belts and chain tensioners. On Wednesday I changed the V-belt with an acquaintance. This was also necessary, because the old one was very brittle and missed at a point about 0.5 cm of 2 ribs. Unfortunately, this did not help with the noises. As a result, we changed the control chain tensioner yesterday. The engine sounds only minimally better. I would rule out the steering chain that I did not feel a ratchet. Could the wash be caused by broken Hydropulses? I don’t know any more and hope that the experts from the Communtiy can help me. Additional information: If the engine is cold he has sometimes lost some oil. Otherwise the oil has not returned a bit of speed.

  • N12B16A: Engine oiled, jerking in the lower speed range

Hello, I took over the R56 with 153 tkm, meanwhile it has 175 tkm. I took over it apparently after fresh engine wash, because in the course of time he has oiled himself nicely, so that in the warm condition after the ride also front left a few times dripping. In the stand with warm engine it smells also clearly by the ventilation in the interior. The free workshop first noticed a loose screw on the oil tank and as a cause, but it was not. They could not make a more accurate diagnosis yet, but also suggested a motor wash and then observation. Oil consumption quite high, due to a lot of short distance and always a little refilling again I did not measure it more accurately. I first noticed this after a few thousand km, when the engine at the traffic light simply went out. No warning lamp was on. There I noticed strongly that proper oil is missing and since then still observed/replenished. In the forum search I first pushed on it that I will replace the 5W30 by 10W40. In addition, the Refreshing is said about 10 times.

  • Oil lamp Mini one 1.6 BJ 2003 r50 lights up in stand with warm engine after oil filter change

Some things have already been tried and again and again astonished… When I demand eu6n oil and oil filter change,I can actually assume that I can drive into my little one and cheerfully from then on… Oil lamp glows after the change. But only when the engine is warm. Long back and forth…a master workshop would have to know how it should go by itself.. I once removed the oil filter cover… look there…the spring and the black plastic pin are missing. Workshop meant, there was nothing…even in the filter…I bought a new lid at BMW,with a wide recording in the lid..also that didn’t help anything.. Oil lamp lights… Filter is original from BMW/ Mini. Now I will get a lid again with pin and spring from the scrap metal…times see how I get it assembled..and that then it will run again..naja with a little language difficulties from the junk yard dealer I hope that we could really communicate… Pictures- from above: 1-Filter case inside 2-filter case I found it before the BMW filter with a new filter-cap

  • Mini Cooper S R53 08/2005 170PS purchase advice

Hi guys, I want to get a Mini Cooper S as a fun mobile and need your experience. I already have a—> Data: Mini Cooper S R53; BJ 08/2005; 170PS compressor engine; 73000km; 1st hand; full checkbook for 500€ No dealer or in customer inquiries, but from one person ü40 beforehand, please don’t start discussions with Turbo consumes less and such things. I know what I want, and that’s a compressor and I don’t care about the consumption of the fun factor. 1. what do you think of the offer 2. what should I pay attention to with this model from the end of 2005 3. how do the service intervals look like? All how much km of oil and toothed belts…? I would be happy about quick answers/experiences so that I can strike. Greetings

  • mini r56 1.4l 95ps Turbo conversion?

Hello together, I have a general question. Is it possible to upgrade a turbocharger for engines without a turbo, like mine e.g. (n12b14a)? If so, what would all this look like? I have already inquired and looked for on YouTube, but can unfortunately only find videos where turbochargers are upgraded or replaced, but still no information about whether a turbo conversion is possible with each engine. Would I be very pleased about your help.

  • Mini Cooper R50 EZ02/2004 Errors P0302 and P2270

Hello together, I’m new here and hope someone can help me. The following problem, I got a used Mini Cooper R50, EZ 02/2004 on the weekend. Since yesterday unfortunately the problem, which starts already after a short time the ASC light and a short moment later the engine control light. To this end, it throttles down immediately and I can hardly accelerate. In addition, it jerks during the ride, like a tractor or so. Also the idle run is very restless. I know this error probably also existed before the purchase. Therefore, the spark plugs, the ignition cables and the ignition coil were renewed. It probably went a few days well but now again the same error. I had it read out yesterday directly in a workshop. It only meant that this error is frequent and often the cause difficult to find. In the worst case the head seal should be broken. I was then in another workshop and the thought of head seal it can not be, then there are other error messages. I should have other candles and a different ignition coil build up. In the worst case, I don’t know very much about it and I don’t have a lot of trouble.

  • Kaufberatung Mini R56 for the woman

Hello dear mini-friends, I’m actually from the BMW warehouse, but now I’m looking for a mini for my wife. She really wants a little city flicker and nothing else 😉 He shouldn’t be too lame, he has to have ESP and automatic and can cost 6-7k. Sweetspot would be the Cooper S R56, but it gets tight with the coal. So, more like the Cooper R56 with 120hp. When was ESP series in the R56? Can you buy something like that?https://suche.mobile.de/…/details.html?…You don’t hear so much good about the engines now (control chain/spanner). Is this really so acute and there are models that are less affected? Is a Cooper S R53 (170hp) more durable? Are there any further tips on what I should pay attention to? Thank you, Andi

  • Mini Cooper S Consumption

Hello, at the moment I drive my Mini Cooper D, 111 HP, with 7,2ltr. Now I am thinking of buying the Cooper S. I heard the two should be almost the same from consumption. Can someone from experience tell me how much the Cooper S consumes? My mini dealer said he would also drive one and has a consumption of 6-7ltr. Can hardly believe that. I mostly drive city and short distances.

  • R53 loses oil in engine compartment

Moin! I’m so desperate. The last 3 – 4 times the TÜV sent me to the workshop because the engine loses an excessive amount of oil. I have to admit that I’m still blue-eyed directly at BMW, and more about it. The TÜV’ler is always more like this: “So that won’t be a big problem. A seal or something, once, and then you probably have years of rest.” In the BMW workshop, for example, it runs like this: “We have it, it’s the oil tub gasket, the “Now we have it, it’s the engine cover (or similar? sorry, know me too little). Is a bit more elaborate, but then you have rest” Done, 1 day after that the clutch mysteriously is completely broken. So again workshop “By the way, your engine loses oil. That’s definitely the oil tank that needs new.” I: “Did you just make a new one last week?” – “Oh, then that’s just rest oil” De facto they have been repairing themselves since big b 8 years rich in the oil problem. However, 2 visits to free workshops were also similar pan. Before I become a general skeptic towards workshops, I think that’s wrong – would I need advice. How do you do that most cleverly? Do I simply blindly test other free workshops? Does someone possibly have a trusting tip for minis in Hamburg? Or does someone have an approach to the oil problem, or how do I deal with the workshop more precisely? Thank you already.
