Mini Cooper R50 116PS oil pressure oil lamp lights up
Hello Mini Friends I have a Mini Cooper R50 2002bj 0005 719 key number 116PS I have a problem that is well known with the Mini and read a lot on the Internet but really nobody had a solution for the problem. I hope you can help me. I bought the Mini and oil lamp was already on idle. I made myself smart and many said I should make an oil change and reset filters. So oil change had even bought the good oil. 5W-30 Edge v on Castrol Original oil filter bought by BMW. and no Oil lamp still glows at the stand gas. At 2000 revolutions it goes off. If I press up to 6000 turns once correctly on gas then the oil lamp stays at 1000 turns off if I take gas away for several seconds. today I also changed the oil pressure switch. The problem still exists. I don’t know where it could be. Hope you can help me

Tyres must be replaced. Are different speed indexes allowed on one axis?
Hello! The rear tyre of my Mini Cooper Cabriolet is defective. 205 / 45 / 17 / 88V. I can get a tyre of the same model with identical profile depth. However, not with the speed index V (as currently extended), but with Y (up to 300 km/h). Is this allowed to mix this index on one axis? Thank you very much.

Upgrade PDC?
My second oldest daughter (who wants to have PDC retrofitted with the R56 “One” – I don’t understand, but that’s another topic. Has anyone already done this here. Are there recommendable systems and how high are the costs incl. installation? She thinks that her friend could do the installation, but I would only have experts drill around the rear apron. Heinz

Super knocking problem must be accepted?
Hello together, my girlfriend recently realized her dream: Mini Cooper S as a presenter with 2000TKm, current model from this year. — After 700km drive, the following problem now arises, which is to be represented under the technical term: Superklopfen. The Mini takes away short gas, or has a drop-off. The vehicle is used to 90% in urban operation. Today we were in the workshop, and according to this superklop clues are available in the fault memory, / recorded. All The service staff explained to me on the basis of an information letter from BMW that this is normal if: – short distances are driven – bad petrol has been fuelled – turbocharger damage etc. is present. Since we do not refuel E10 or use cheap petrol stations, we rule this out. Thus, our problem falls from the point of view: car is moved with too little load / speed and therefore this can occur. d this was also not mentioned during the sale. We would have to accept it. But we don’t want that. What do you think about it? Or has someone already gone the legal way for that? It seems to me that a problem is deliberately kept quiet here.

Mini Cooper S R56 strong rattles while driving
Hello guys, I really need your help. I drive a Mini Cooper S R56 174 HP year 12/2007. For some time I have had problems with my sweetheart. When it’s cold in the morning, the engine runs very restless, the speed jumps slightly in the range of 800 and 2000 and the engine control people goes on. I was also already in the BMW workshop, which said it could VIELLEICHT lie on a defective high pressure pump (cost 500€). The error goes after 2 km by itself w eg, if the engine has some temperature. But for a maybe I didn’t want to spend 500 € and I drove like this for half a year. The problem persists. Now another problem came up today. The engine “rasssss” or “knatters” during the ride very loudly. This noise does not go away even after a long drive. So I went back to the BMW workshop and they said I can’t go on. It could be the control chain or the chain tensioner defective. (truely. The engine didn’t have the full power either, but you could still drive. Inspections were all made but the engine unfortunately had very little oil. Since the workshops can tell me a lot and want to rip me off anyway, I ask for your opinion. Thank you very much.

Mini Cooper accident car/signs
Hello my friend bought himself a Mini Cooper, a while ago, also with purchase test etc, built 2010, R56, 75 HP, around c.a 600€. Sound first quite ok, 1.6l displacement on 75PS sounds durable. Unfortunately, the dealer is to say the least a small criminal. Starting from radio did not work, “no antenna up”, they would always steal him, yes, no matter. Just as afterwards noticed, of course weak sense, all others have antennas on it, i.e. radio never went, was before short m now also made, since the whole socket simply flew away. A lot of things have been exchanged, camshaft sensor, climate capacitor, everything possible. In total certainly over a year almost 3000€ in cost. What seemed strange to me from the beginning, but I could not judge, since no comparison (perhaps so usual with Mini), was the interior of the engine. For me this looks like someone has spackled coarser, and at the back are also strange stripes to see (see pictures), And the water is also in there (with this black part). Is this maybe an accident car that was sold to us here despite multiple demand and denial? At least that doesn’t look so wild with my Audi. But that’s why please, someone can take a look at the photos and tell me if this usually looks like this, or if it was definitely repaired here (grey) ? Thanks in advance !

Gear damage Mini automatic
Hello dear community, today was a black day for us. In the workshop it was opened to us that the reason for the unusual switching behavior of the last days was a capital gear damage and the cost for the replacement of the complete transmission probably amounted to approx. EUR 5,500,- (!) . A repair is not possible. Our Mini Cooper A has EZ 01/2002 and only 84,000 km on the speedometer. That probably cannot be, that an automatic transmission with Tiptronic already the spirit on The mini is still limited in speed, but it doesn’t switch normally high, i.e. 1-2-3-4-5, but 1-2-5, even at irregular intervals. Are now wheelless and perplexed and don’t know what to do. Are there experiences in the community, what to do here? Would be great, are technical laymen and so we can of course tell a lot.

MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4, ask before buying
Hello, if there is such a thread already I ask for a short hint. (on the fast I found nothing) First of all, I already had a countryman (diesel) and was satisfied, so I think again about it. The car should be electric, I hoped for the BMW IX3, but it is not offered with all-wheel drive, so with BMW(incl mini) only a hybrid remains for me. I have 2 problems that I want to solve. 1) too small reach with the BMW i3, the problem should be a hy brid loose. *1 2) I absolutely want an all-wheel, even the countryman can loose that. I drive electric for a long time (i3), hybrid I never had. Does the e-mark get? Is the tax-free? (also as a service car?) Does he get promotion? I will write to my vekaeufer, who is only on vacation, is a MOPF or new model in front of the door, should you wait for something? We already had some minis (just a cowryman, otherwise just the small *2), but that’s been for many years. so I ask. Tips? w Ps.: I will lease the car, probably in the most favorable operation and in the hope of much promotion. *1 or a purely electric one with a large range, is not offered by BMW at all with all-wheel. *2 we still have a roadster, which we keep as a “collector stock”, but it is already “old”.

Mini Cooper Cabrio Question(s) to the convertible “User”
Hi Mini – experts, short & short: How windy / heavy is it in the convertible? Does the passenger have to go to the hairdresser afterwards? (if not a short hair hair hairdresser) Is the cap missing from me, at a height just under 1.90m ? Like “wind-quiet” (or not) is it in the mini? After a question among us men ….: Is this a girl’s car? Liebämmel just with the Mini John Cooper Works Cabrio – believe this part is really fun. Thank you for your feedback Greeting angeldust
